I liked that 50’ hole at the end you sloped it out right and put benches where it was needed. I’ve been doing a smaller scale project setting 72”with a cat 349 going 31’ deep. It’s my first sanitary job done pipeline all my life.
Just did a 72" pipe job with a 349 cat seemed to be a little underpowered but got it done 16k pipe sections with a shield a round 18k was fun walking it to the hole
@LionelRichiesCrackpipe oh no joke it digs like a monster but better to have the bigger machine for the lifting part you can crank up the power but you have to be the owner and have a code which changes the emission dynamics personally I dont think the 349 equates to the old school 345 cat or even the 235b think the 349 is 105k but a 16k pipe section you can feel the machine load up the weight , old 235b retired at our yard picked it up like a rag doll but had a big counterweight
@@kaleip I ran a 1996 CAT 350 with the short stick on it. 600mm rock tracks and was set up for the desert. was slow but could pull a big bucket. Ran that for 7 years and retired it.
Preston Pipelines and Sanco are about the only big pipeliners left out of San Jose now. Ernie Pestana, W.H. Ebert, L.J. Krzich, Misson Piplelines, Ramos Pipelines (Hawyard), Pioneer Underground - all gone! All of them gone now. I think even West Valley Underground doesn't do as much as they used to. I think Sanco still paints some of their equipment green. W.H. Ebert was all orange. Ernie Pestana painted everything yellow. Ebert and Pestana were hard core 'old school' - lots of heavy equipment with 2-cycle diesel engines (Koehring, Michigan/Clark, etc.). Times have changed.
Sorry I dont know why people are complaining about cleaning the manhole. This the laborers job especially the the TOP MAN. Keep going your job and everything will be ok. Just because you told them to shorten up the cables is there job. Like the video and keep shooting 👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Cool videos man! My company does contract work for Cal Trans. Mostly culvert system replacement and rock slopes. Great times as the lead operator/foreman. Keep up the good work, be safe and dont listen to the keyboard commandos.
For culvert pipes and draining our former OSHA safety officer accepted rope ladder, really sweet because you can order from 10'-200' if needed be certified and all. Check your local safety supply as they are easier to have on the truck and transport. Only difference is you will need to be on a harness and yo yo while on rope ladder in which in reality is a much safer option than just climbing a triple decker ladder without fall pro. Really cool new ones have just came out within the last few years as pipe safety has had an overhaul within the industry. Just hope you'd have a chance to look it up and have a convo with your boss man to see if this would be a viable option for your outfit.
1 of 2 types on MH's, # 1 a gravity sewer drop in MH for a lift station , #2 or for storm water. 50ft is 5ft deeper than I was with gravity sewer, 24" trunk ( main line)
Did you have to do any dewatering?if we were that deep here in Ohio we would have all sorts of water to deal with. Awesome project. Love the pics and keep the videos coming.
Awesome video. What was the weight of these sections? Edit: nevermind, I just read the description. That's awesome. Great operating brother. Great control of that monster.
The issue with that is you lose your ability to reach out with the load. What you didn't get to see was the firs settings happen that you could not track up to.
I understand, This was back when I first got the GoPro. I have a mount on it now for my other videos. This was old footage as a gap fill while I wait for my new job to start. My other videos are better you should check them out.
He didn’t have manhole sitting 10ft in the air Bozo. 🤡 Sure he has more then enough experience to keep it in a safe spot. Plus my labors wouldn’t like me siting it back down in the dirt before they put on the rubber. These videos are awesome!!!!
Not true at all. It depends on rigging, how the rig is congigured. The distance of the load from the center of the rig. Theas things all determin at what poing the rig will be able to lift a load. Also the knucle has more power to lift than the boom and stick. I guss I have to make a video on this. Thanks for the comment.
No equipment was allowed within 50 feet of the top of the dig. A crane would have to be able to pick that load and reach 100ft to set it. That was too expensive of a crane, would of eaten up all the profit for the job.

This channel is going to blow up! Happy to be early in it
I secretly hope it does. Thanks
I’ve done a couple pump stations 35 feet that’s some crazy shit you did awesome keep the videos coming Job looks great.

I would never exit the machine with a suspended load... that being said your videos are great
Thats impressive, big job

Great video well done!
Thank you very much!
That's pretty cool thank you for the video..... JJ...
Thanks for watching!

We got lucky, We found no water. But the exisiting liftstation around the corner had water at 35 feet.
Just love the 870 and 670 Deere excavators
not bad rigs.
Awesome video. What was the weight of these sections?
Edit: nevermind, I just read the description. That's awesome. Great operating brother. Great control of that monster.
Thank you
Yes sir this channel is going to blow up
Thanks
At that point did you have your bucket bridle curled out like to dump buck out? That gives little more liff
I keep mine flat or open to help with lifting.
Curled out has the most lifting power
Totally unsafe osha in cali most smoke good dope or marijuana
What is this that is being buit? Thanks for the video.
Sewer lift station. Pushes the waist to the treatment plant
Great video 🇺🇲
Thanks 👍
Cat101 what you can do is have them weld eye on front main boom, it gives more lifting power and more hight lift.
That's what we have on our machines, I would recommend that also.
The issue with that is you lose your ability to reach out with the load. What you didn't get to see was the firs settings happen that you could not track up to.
Nice Clean Job there!👌🏻
Thanks! 👍
Are you like the number one operator there for that company .and are you guys union or non, good video's
#1 for the CA valley. and yes Local 3 operators.
The kobelco 140 I was using to place 120cm man hole barrels is about 10000lbs short of how much this barrel weighs. Thats one big manhole barrel.
Close to max on the 870G
Whats purpose of soaping/lubing the barrel section b4 putting rubbers on
the rubbers are round, so it lets them spin in the the slot instead of sliding up.
That barrel would normally be upside down?
correct normal manhole s are the other way around. I actually like them this way better.
osha would have a field day
I guess it wasn't up side down, nice safe hole tho man, look good 👌
Thanks 👍
just add shackles to the one side to even that pick out. i get that shit all the time at least 2 on every job.
we had longer cables that I could have tried but we just got it done as is.
My first time on your channel ,head cam was not good for me. I liked the content
I understand, This was back when I first got the GoPro. I have a mount on it now for my other videos. This was old footage as a gap fill while I wait for my new job to start. My other videos are better you should check them out.
Nice work . Your company's 870 or rental?
The company owns it yes.
@@TheLeverMonkey you bringing it in on this upcoming next job for the rock
No. too big for some ones backyard. we only have a 20 foot easement. Will be using a 450
@@TheLeverMonkey they don't need yards lol
Even with the 450 they wont have much left when we are done.
Rigging?
There is a reason I am in the field and not the office.
@@TheLeverMonkey did my share when I was a lot younger and healthier man
Geeze I’d love to run a machine that big. Biggest I ever use is 40k.
It is fun to get on the big equipment. Have to have a different mind set when on them as you have a much bigger area to worry about.
@@TheLeverMonkey most definitely, one can tear a lot up or hurt someone really fast and not know it.
Looks like they should have used the middle holes on the reconnect
We used the outside holes to keep from damaging the top edge of the barrel.

🤭
That’s quite the hoe to have gps on! Maybe one day I’ll get the chance to run an 870 like that! We got a tinker toy 300g as our biggest machine
One day it may just happen
You can get work done with that big excavator for shure
keep those cables spread and above center
👍👌
Hey what state are you guys working?
CA
Boom up dipper down dipper lifts more

It's up side down lol...
Took a moment
He said " manhole"
🤦♂️
Some Companies just will use a Crane to set something the Huge.

Ok
No more head cameras
Yea I know. I have a few more before I start getting new footage again.
@@TheLeverMonkey you guys normally the prime and not a sub on job correct? Do you guys get a lot of safety guys snooping around?
@@timothygrell4398 We do both. We were prime for the lift station.
