    I’m glad you told him about moving the laser instead of just sitting there and watching him fail like 99% of operators would do 👊 good looking out bro

      That is why they stick the guys that need to learn with me. I am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn. I do lose my patience every so often and chew some a$$.

    Glad to see you're back. Great work as always. Can't believe how bad that machine beats on you. Seems like that 500 class by Kobelco is kind of a disappointment.

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea the KOBELCO rigs don’t rank very high on my list of rigs. I actually had this rig taken off a job and swapped for a John deer 450 with over 10k hours on it. And it out dug the 500. They are unstable machines. But that is what the company is buying. So I am stuck with them.

    Since you guys use top lasers instead of pipe lasers what is the one you guys use brand-name model? Just wondering because I use a piper 200 from Leica but my top lasers do not go to percentages for sewer pipe it will do 2% but it won’t do say 1.9 Percent

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We use Sitech lasers. Our lasers can do 8% witch we never really do. Most of the slops we do are like 0.24-0.38. Not my favorite laser to use, Iforget the name of the one I use to use that would go to 24%.

    We’re both in California, shouldn’t you have a 4 foot bench if you’re having a 4 foot vertical and then your slope?? You did say that you had it engineered for a slope less that 1 to 1, did that include no bench? The soil looks like a B soil so I would do 1 to 1 slope even if you had it engineered. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy your videos but just had a couple questions about this video. Keep the videos coming 👍🏽

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No worries, it is a valid question. So even if it was a 1:1 slope you don't have to have a bench at the top of your vertical cut. You can slope it at the top of the vertical to the top of the slope. I do a 4' walking path at the top of the ditch instead of the required 2 foot set back for spoils. This pushes back the weight of the pile from the ditch. This is also part of our requirement for the 3/4:1. But if you do a bench at any location in the slope it is required to be a 4' wide bench. Years ago 2' was all that you had to do, that changed about 7 years ago.
      If I think their will be a issue with the ground I would open up the trench till I thought it was safe. If they try to get on me about it, I just say it was a safety concern.

    • @TheLeverMonkey
      @TheLeverMonkey  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, and I hate it. I really don’t like KOBELCO equipment. They have a few that I can tolerate. Like the sk 210 Hybrid. I made a video on that rig.

    I dont know how it's been for your local brother but these past 2 Years I have been dealt hands down the worst laborers I have ever worked with !!! I have no problem giving guidance to a kid that wants to learn but they watch movies on their phones and listen to music and make tic toks .... super annoying 😒
