    i have use v- groove pully for my machine but non standard so what is my pully size i can design pully for my machine
    it is possible to calculate pully size or we have one pully diameter like motor or machine

      And one thing I forgot pully groove is standerd but diameter is non standerd

      Hi Akash, I'm not sure about it without seeing the actual application. However here is some point that could help you to take decision
      1. For general application, our aim should be minimise size of the pulley size
      2. Pully size should be as large which can allow V belt bending very well (depending on belt series Like C, N, R)
      3. Belt Warp angle on smaller pulley should be greater than 120 deg.
      4. In the case of V belt, to keep the belt tight in the groove, design the pulley groove with a little different angle.

      Diameter doesn't matter at all in general applications

      How can I decide power rating which not showing in manufacturer catalogue I have motor run 750 rpm pully dia 330mm but in catalogue only show pitch speed rpm 700 and next one is 900 so how can I decide what is my true power rating and additional power rating my belt has d section d220 classic

    I have a GT2 timing belt 2mm pitch and 6mm width, no catalogue, it's commonly used in 3D printers and cnc machines, if you search GT2 timing belt you will get it in first result.
    Now what it's breaking power and working tension?

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only 6 mm width? You can consider any manufacturer any timing belt model which has pitch 2 mm and width 6 mm. power would be approx same

    I want to convert a sprocket to sprocket chain drive to a pulley to pulley belt drive, I have all the chain info but can't find a conversion calculator, I want the cog type belts & pully's and the center to center distance in less than 18 inches

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, There is no such direct conversation between chain and timing belt drive. First list down your current setup parameters like torque or power and speed, and make selection of timing belt and pulley from scratch

    Once I determine the right belt, how do I know how long the belt will last? In Misumi's case they do not specify how long their belts last for, so even when I choose the correct belt I do not have any indication of the performance of the belt in terms of service life. Could you provide some detail on this?

    Can you share which type of belt materials to be selected for the application?

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For selection purposes you don't need to specify material, just specify the grade like T5 T10 etc. however , As per the catalogue, they use chloroprene rubber, and glass fibre as core wire, material composition can be different from manufacturer to manufacture. But they mainly use hard rubbers (shore hardness A80 or above) and they use wires to make it strengthen against tension.

      I guess. you should first make selection of timing belt, - series, pitch and width as per required torque and speed then make selection of timing pulley according to timing belt. same i have explained in this video.

      Belts are actually rated for torque. The log log graph rpm vs power is a straight line because of a constant torque rating. The top rpm limits heat build up due to flexing. These are selection guides, meant to be used judiciously.

    Request u to please verify calculations before making screens for your video. Make them in excel on ur end. These also make ur presentation weak due to wrong calculation being displayed without cross verification or formula not presented properly. Best of luck.
