Hi great video as always. As a newly retiree I am able to spend more time in places I love. At the moment Italy for six weeks. I have family in Italy, 19 cousins live here. Italy have the poorest (awful at times) air quality in Europe. We have experienced 2 full days of very poor air quality. I was socked. The days had a constant smog that was not blown away by the wind, only rain filtered it. Then what contaminated water? I drive electric, Italy have in the main a good spread of chargers, we have not had any issues of a low charge. Whilst areas of Italy are trying to promote electric cars, to park in cities is free, you able to drive in restricted areas (you may have to register). But very few, sorry did I say very, very few fully electric cars are on the road. We have seen mainly Tesla’s, though less than ten in the 3 weeks we have been here. I drive a IONIQ 5, I’m sure I’m the only one here. Heat pumps though have grown exponentially within the last year bringing them to seventh in the European area, including Scandinavian countries. The motivation is the installation cost is covered to 110%, yes 110%! The extra 10% is taken off their tax payments for the 3 years after installation. Have a look at a weather app on air quality, there will be times all of Italy have very poor air. I was shocked the first time I saw this. Could Italy be a prime venue for an everything electric show?
Loved everything electric in Sydney. Defining moment was Sunday afternoon waiting for a test drive. There was a conga line of cars moving slowly around the indoor staging area. Something was missing. Absolutely no odours. The whole exhibition hall would have been choking if the cars had not been electric.
I love my solar panels !! My power bill was about $60-70 AUD per month. After installation of my solar panels, my power bills have turned into credits, and I now get free electricity and make around $110 AUD per month tax free on the excess electricity I export to the grid - a whopping 25% Return on Investment (ROI). It's like having a piggy bank on my roof.

One of the problems of EV adoption is the fact that the cars and especially the batteries are evolving so quickly that todays cars are out of date so quickly, people will wait until the technology stabilises.
I took my 4yo kid to the show in Sydney and it was a great day out. Looking forward to what’s in store next year. And good to see MG is continuing on the up and up shipping more new affordable (and also not so affordable) EV stock.
Thanks for the entertaining video. Subscribed now. I live in the Canary Islands. I had a 4kw PV system installed in November. We produced so much excess energy in the first 3 months, It made sense to trade in our 2 year old petrol car for a new Citroen EV. So far this month our fuel cost is ZERO, saving us around 150€. It is still early days for the technology but it is good to be part ofbthe future, rather than living in the past.

As an Australian, about the SUV rant... SUVS and dualcab pickups/utes are our best selling segment, with the Hilux and For Ranger being our biggest sellers. I drive a Nissan Cube and it's more than adequate for what I need. I get that it's fashionable but honestly, most families, tradies, middle class all have Dualcab Utes that may go offroad a few times a year as a daily. Most have hard, fixed tonneau covers too.
SUVs/dual-cabs/Utes, etc., are not needed in a city environment. Yes, you may pop to the countryside or farm at the weekend to see family, but again, it's a fashion statement, and it shows that the advertising industry is very good at selling things that aren't needed by the majority of customers.
@@PayteerMost Australian are employed as tradies. So these vehicles also serve as part of their employment to deliver things to site and have their tools with them.
Nice to see you back, Robert. I guess you were referring to a Nissan Patrol (5.6 ltr). Yep Oz is SUV land. It is even worse over here in the West. Love these ABN episodes and Roberts reactions. The trajectory is electric and we need to stop all the nay sayers blocking it. As your last article said cheaper smaller cars are on their way. If they get 150 - 200 miles range they will be an amazing boost to get people into an EV.
I am going to the everything electric show at ExCel on Thursday and can't believe there are no chargers in their car park - good job I can get there and back in my MG4
I love the events but from an industry perspective it'd be great the car companies brought more technical reps - I've attended the industry days and it limits the conversation/potential networking when only their events staff attend
I chose not to get lifts to school in the 80's because I knew how "wrong" that kind of thing was even then, as a child. Transmutation of energy was something you learned about in School in the 80's. I don't know why people seem to have a hard time grasping it now. I don't personally really need "heating" so much as "cooling" in Stockport, UK. I moved North in the 90's to be a bit cooler but unfortunately it keeps getting warmer and warmer. And within the constraints I find myself I feel forced to use air-conditioning. And now I feel I need to defend my use of it lol after Robert saying about the billions and billions of devices that will be emitting heat. I'm not sure Robert presented the case fairly. Cool air displacing the warm air within a building ... where does that warm air go etc ... technically true ... but presumably that warm air we're trying to dispel was heated by the sun. That energy was coming from the sun anyway and likely turning into local heat unless you have a reflective roof to reflect it back into space (or a fancy roof to convert the wavelength a bit first so it more easily goes back out into space), or greenery to convert some of it to chemical energy etc. We're adding some waste heat of course from the energy used to power the A/C (heat pumps) and that isn't trivial ... but ... if you consider human habitation in all it's billions still doesn't occupy much of the Earth's surface, really, as a proportion, and if you consider the energy we're putting into the heat pump to make it work which gets wasted as heat in terms of the over-all efficiency which allows you to see the how much more energy the Sun has put into it even in you're little corner of a claim of volume occupied on the Earth, then you soon begin to realise that the heat we're adding to the atmosphere from all the billions of devices pales in comparison to that great nuclear fire ball in the sky. I'm not sure it really "matters". Even with billions - it's a dorp in the ocean compared to the sun. What matters is how changing the composition of the atmosphere by just a smidgeon has a massive effect on how much of that massive amount of energy from the Sun gets trapped. If I wasn't constrained by social commitments I would move somewhere cooler. If there's anywhere left lol. Up a mountain somewhere perhaps. Or modify where I live so I could work in the coolest spot. Or DIY my own reflective systems / heat-avoidance etc. and cooling system of some sort just to cool what I need cooling using the least energy and if using an actual heat-pump then try to use that otherwise "waste" heat as something useful putting it into some kind of thermal battery etc. But I just don't have the freedom to do what I want without forsaking a lot of other stuff. I live with "normal" people lol. But with things as they are ... that's my rationalisation for downplaying the A/C use. (Obviously I power it 100% with renewable energy and only use it when my body/brain would shut-down preventing me from working otherwise). In the terraced house where I live I wouldn't really need heating personally as it's shape and form and orientation keeps it warm enough... but my partner needs some heat. It's all swings and roundabouts. All the heat lovers don't seem to get much stick for liking heat-pumps (even if they don't have passive houses) ... but us cooler environment lovers seem to get painted by a harsh brush by association for wanting A/C (heat-pumps).
There's a company here in Thsiland that takes the heat produced from AC units and uses it to heat water for showers & washing or to keep swimming pools at the right temperature. Unfortunately, it's too much of an investment for most people here (including me!).
Talking of locations, seeing as you've got a London show this year, why is the "South" show still in Farnborough (basically still London as far as the rest of the UK is concerned)? Why not somewhere further West?
We are talking about it, the team that runs the shows is very small and already stretched to the limit so it's not easy, but we'd love to do a west of England show.
Hold on. You switched from calling them air conditioning to heat pumps. They can be used for heating in the winter, using less energy than other heating methods. They need a way of turning that heat energy in the summer into work or to store it or to convert it to another type of energy. I think there are ways of using it to heat water in the summer.

Although purchasing two cars at once was a bit extravagant, I am now used to it, and it has been great for me and my family. However, it may not be ideal for everyone. I been using a new GLE 450 for a few weeks, and it was excellent, but at 25p to 30p per mile, I do not miss the expense. On the other hand, electric cars are costing me 6.15p per mile for the ID3 or 12.2p per mile for the E-Tron, even during the day.
Got my tickets, got the hotel booked, will see you there!
Tesla is the best car company ever! No gas stations, No oil changes, No smog check, No corrupt dealership, No catalytic converter and as fast as a $650,000 Lamborghini.
What a scam
Only a conman for a ceo, who can’t tell the truth to save his life 😂
i mean they make some great cars (except for the cybertruck) but what u said is just pure bullshit
BYD is doing well because they are making cars that people want for a reasonable price. Some people still want buttons and stalks in a vehicle. Not everyone wants 'self-driving'. Thankfully, BYD realises this!
As for Ford's EV sales, I've seen a few videos of many Lightnings and Mach-Es sitting on dealer lots for extended periods. Maybe Ford is being _creative_ with their sales figures?
Robert comes across as slightly angry and unhinged.

Would be really interested in seeing an exhibitor list for the Harrogate show. Many thanks.
I did notice that there were a few cars missing from the ( North ) Harrogate Show compared to the ( South ) Farnborough show last year 2023.

Hydrogen is the Betamax of alternate fuels.
8track!
Quite so.
And soon to be the fuel of choice.
For everything.
No need to argue, simply Google
Except bmax was better than vhs
Hrrrm,... Betamax was the backbone of the BetaS, SP and SX (digital) broadcast camera and tapedeck formats, those were still in use,.. sorry, are still in use,... in broadcast for decades after VHS was gone.
Mostly in the Archive Libraries now, but still out as production cameras into the 2010's.
And yet, the ff energy use is still not coming down in Australia... Jeven's Effect.
A smaller MG ZF should be electric
Great program Robert its nice to get stories and facts about whats going on in the world from a trustworthey source
I wasn’t convinced about the news of electric cars sales slowing down… I literally see new electric cars everyday on the road during my commute and I thought that it couldn’t be an isolated case…
I see at least ten teslas everyday. I've seen at least one lucid, a few hybrids and I'm sure I've missed other brands that I'm just not familiar with their look.
The last 6 months have seen what looks like an explosion of EVs to me. And I drive very local.
Thanks Robert ,great news.
If the backdrop was moving around, Robert would make a great Max Headroom.
Always love a bit of almost breaking news (plus rants and sound effects).

Come to Brisbane next time. Sydney and Melbourne can suck it.
27:14 - gotta love that great Aussie blowie buzzing through. Very energy efficient by the way, powered by renewable dung!
It’s called ‘near-shoring’ when they manufacture in Mexico. The Gordie Howe bridge is being completed in Windsor ON for Q4 2025, means near-shoring can take place once again in Canada, after GM had their plants torn down after their bankruptcy years ago. The previous bridge was built in the 1920’s.
There are also two very large distilleries in Windsor, ON.
Yes Monterey is going to boom. Mexico will become very rich 🤑

It's like having a piggy bank on my roof.
ha ha ha. I really like this guy. Rants show passion. And as an Australian, yes you Blightiers are always amazed when the laundry dries in 15 minutes.
I'm glad to see Robert hydrating. My best friend. Why consider the Sun die to eat stroke at the plant? The job I begged him to come. Take I have to live with that the rest of my life.
MG its an amazing story! I really hope Lotus can also revive and tbh ive seen some great signs!
Ive seen two guys get out of a massive jacked up twin rear wheel truck in Texas....they left the engine running and aircon on while they walked across the parking lot to the liquor store
Thanks for bringing the FC Team and visiting Australia. Can't agree more on the 'Toorak' tractor, unnecessarily large city SUV never driven off-road, use in Australia particularly in your face in school carparks.
Look forward to next Aussie show......maybe in Brisbane?

One of the problems of EV adoption is the fact that the cars and especially the batteries are evolving so quickly that todays cars are out of date so quickly, people will wait until the technology stabilises.
I test drove a four ton Ford Lightning. Faaaabulous! We're dumping our diesel Q7 and getting a Lightning.
When I lived in Sydney for a few months, I made the blue shirt mistake too.

Wow! Robert owns two phones! That's flash!
Nice to see you back, Robert. I guess you were referring to a Nissan Patrol (5.6 ltr). Yep Oz is SUV land. It is even worse over here in the West. If you have a normal car it gets hidden in the shopping centre car park as they don't come up to the waist line of Patrols and Land Cruisers which occupy 95% of the spaces.
Sadly I couldn't make it to Sydney this year, but good to see that you had more manufacturers this year. As a Melbournite, yes I am disappointed that you don't alternate the venue between Sydney and Melbourne

Love these ABN episodes and Roberts reactions. The trajectory is electric and we need to stop all the nay sayers blocking it. As your last article said cheaper smaller cars are on their way. If they get 150 - 200 miles range they will be an amazing boost to get people into an EV.

Very warm you lucky sod 😆
also your range reduces very mucn in winter for heating and summer too because of air con usage, especially if your sitting in 1 hr traffic

Wheres my electric MX5, Mazda?
There's a company here in Thsiland that takes the heat produced from AC units and uses it to heat water for showers & washing or to keep swimming pools at the right temperature. Unfortunately, it's too much of an investment for most people here (including me!).
Talking of locations, seeing as you've got a London show this year, why is the "South" show still in Farnborough (basically still London as far as the rest of the UK is concerned)? Why not somewhere further West?
We are talking about it, the team that runs the shows is very small and already stretched to the limit so it's not easy, but we'd love to do a west of England show.
@@fullychargedshow Closer to Wales at least - Bristol or midlands; perhaps Birmingham?
Hold on. You switched from calling them air conditioning to heat pumps.
They can be used for heating in the winter, using less energy than other heating methods.
They need a way of turning that heat energy in the summer into work or to store it or to convert it to another type of energy.
I think there are ways of using it to heat water in the summer.
