I'm an old guy I've seen every Western ever made. Quigley is in my top five favorite westerns of all time! Ask anyone who loves westerns this is one of their favorites. Look up Cowboy in the dictionary you'll see Tom Selleck's picture. Alan Rickman made this right after Die Hard. It doesn't get any better than him as a movie villain. The rifle in this movie has become so famous there has become a yearly shooting contest with it. Buying the rifle takes a year to get to receive it. They are custom-made and in high demand. There is a western miniseries from the 70s call "The Sacketts" based on a famous book. It stars Sam Elliott and Tom Selleck as Cowboy Brothers. It's a classic and it is what made Tom and Sam famous. Does not get any better then Tom and Sam as Cowboys. It is for free on TH-cam. I highly recommend it if you like Tom and Sam and Cowboys. I love your reactions as always stay real.
The Sacketts movie was based on two different novels, the first is The Daybreakers about two of the five Sackett brothers, William Tell, Orrin, Tyrel, Joe and Bob. Tyrel and Orrin (Tom's character) leave Tennessee after Orrin's brand new bride is killed by the last member of a family the Sacketts were feuding with and Tyrel kills that man. The second novel is Sackett which tells the story of William Tell "Tell" Sackett (Sam's character.) Another book that starred Tom and Sam was The Shadow Riders, another Louis' L'Amour novel about the Traven Brothers from Texas, Dal (Sam), Mac(Tom) and Jessie. Dal fought for the Confederacy and Mac fought for the Union and they come together with their younger brother Jessie to rescue their two sisters that were kidnapped and being taken to Mexico.
This isn't even close to being top five in a genre that has The Searchers, High Noon, Stagecoach, True Grit, Dances With Wolves, Lonesome Dove, Unforgiven, Tombstone, The Outlaw Josie Wales and many others.
Enjoyed your reactions to Quigley Down Under. As you said a Western down under in Australia. Orher excellent movies w Tom Selleck are "Runaway" or "Three Men and a Baby", a comedy. Also your reference to "Love Actually" is a big thumbs up.
They should react to The Stand. The original one had her as one of the lead characters. She ends up being the devil's concubine. It's a good miniseries to watch when you are sick, at home.
Tom Selleck was most noted for his role in Magnum, P. I. where he plays a private detective solving crime in Hawaii. The show was popular when I was going to college. My roommates and I had a little ritual where we'd put on Hawaiian shirts and sit on the couch just before it came on.
Thank you, ladies, for watching this film. I loved your reactions even to point of Tori sometimes calling out the call backs. This was my dad's favorite movie and brought back memories of watching it with my father. Yes, it was hard to watch, but Matthew as American saw how Indians here were treated and then going over and seeing he was hired to do the same to the aborigines was a no go for him. It showed Quigley was gentleman to. Even though Cora was out of her mind. He still remained respectful and concerned for her wellbeing. You first see this when they bring women to ranch for entertainment purpose..he told leader that there was mix up and leave Cora alone. I loved Cora too..but once you hear her story you really understand her and it is not quite as funny anymore. But my favorite part is when Quigley says, "I said I never had a use for one, never said I didn't know how to use one." Exactly never assume something about someone's skill set.
Long distance shooting like this requires a strong knowledge math, specifically trigonometry(the study of angles and angular relationships). You have to factor in things like the rate the bullet will drop after leaving the muzzle of the rifle, the difference in elevation between where the shooter is and where the target is,.the speed and direction of the wind(which will allow you to estimate winds effect) and at extreme distances shots that are 1000 yards or more you even have to take into account Corlios effect which is you have factor in the slight deviation caused by the rotation speed of the earth. Snipers are actually mathematicians
And some people can just do all that without doing any calculations and wouldn't know how to calculate it if you told them. They're just instinctive shooters.
@@Falcun21 We're talking about a myth. But you're right. If this ain't real then all my love turns to powder. Laura Sans Giancomo may be old and grey, but l'll always see her there, finding Roy or perhaps me. I think she could do better than Roy.
You don't need to know math and trigonometry. People were shooting like this in the West, factoring in their experience alone. It is just later on (in history) that it helps to know such things (like if you are a sniper).
I was one of the ones who recommended this movie after you guys did CROCODILE DUNDEE 2. Seen this 30 times or more. But it never made me cry like this with you two.😢😢

FUN FACT: the young red headed ginger kid who worked for Alan Rickman in the movie is an Australian actor named Ben Mendelsohn. You might recognize him as the main villain, Director Krennic, in the Star Wars film Rogue One. He’s also in several other movies including Captain Marvel and The Dark Knight Rises. Quigley Down Under was one of his early film roles and he’s gone on to have a fantastic career as a dramatic actor in some lesser known movies and shows on top of the ones I mentioned above. It’s funny to see him so young here in this movie.
Quigley is always a favorite for me. 3 Men & A Baby is also a guilty pleasure. It has a little impromptu "karaoke" in it that I used to quote/sing to my girls when I would put them to bed.
It's so cool to watch this. Alan Rickman was awesome as the antagonist in this movie. And, he was also the villain in Die Hard. He really was the best actor to play Snape in Harry Potter. RIP Alan Rickman
Tom Selleck made a series of movies based on Robert B. Parker's "Jesse Stone" novels. Selleck stars as Jesse Stone an L.A. police detective from Santa Monica. He & his dog "Boomer" leave L.A. to take a job as the Chief of Police in a small coastal town in Mass. The 1st movie released, "Jesse Stone: Stone Cold" (2005) is actually the 2nd movie in chronological order. The 1st movie to watch in the proper order is "Jesse Stone: Night Passage" (2006). Jesse Stone is definitely a flawed character; divorced, drinking problem, etc. but underneath a good guy. Tom Selleck also produced these movies. Not a bad one in the bunch. If you like Tom Selleck you will love these movies.

The rifle is a 1874 Sharps. It was made by Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing. Yes this is a good movie too! But I could never remember the name! If I remember right it has the same ship in it! It starts off very similar to Quigley down under!
My Mother used to cook lamb quite regularly when I was little. She would fix me a plate, with a slice of lamb with some mint jelly on it. As I got older I thought that I disliked lamb. It turned out that I love lamb. I just dislike mint jelly.
Great Reaction to this over-Looked Classic..... "Three Men and a Baby" is about a Infant....... "Three Men and a Little Lady" is the sequel where the baby is 5 years old (I think)....... Both are Good Movies.....
Alan Rickman came to Holliwood and was offered to play Hans Gruber in Die Hard. He declined at first because he didn't want to be the villain in an action movie and be typecast from that. He was a brilliant villain in the end and so he got to play a lot of them after all....
Great reaction to a totally amazing underrated movie. This was fun. I was going to quote his line about the hand guns, but been beaten on the comments a bunch of times.
My biggest regret. When my ‘Cora’ went away for college very far away, I gave up on us. I walked away from her and did not look back. Many, many years passed and I learned she’s okay, but I regret the choice I made to this day. I love this film. Thank you ladies for reacting to this gem.
One of my favorites…….great story of doing what’s right. Laura San Giacomo was great as Crazy Cora. A another great Tom Selleck film to watch is, Mr. Baseball.
For more Tom Selleck, try High Road To China. Kind of a Indiana Jonesy adventure. And yes, please watch Love Actually! Alan Rickman is great in that movie.
I really enjoy your reactions! Tom Selleck made it big as a TV Star, so he doesn’t always get the credit he deserves for his movies. He was the first choice to play Indiana Jones, but his TV contract at the time wouldn’t allow him to take the role. Another great Tom Selleck movie is “Mr. Baseball” - I hope you will react to that.
Seeing the scene with the dingos, Cora, and the baby brought to mind Buffy the Vampire Slayer. On it, her friend's boyfriend played in a band called Dingos Ate My Baby.
Good reaction. I love watching the T's gush over romantical stuff! This has movie always been a favorite. It's maybe Mr. Selleck's best. Many good recommendations are already in the comments. I would watch "Three Men and a Baby". He has a good supporting role in "The Killers". Another good Australian movie is "The Man from Snowy River".
@@Michael-id9bw I love The Man from Snowy River so much! It was the highest grossing Australian movie until Crocodile Dundee. The music for it is so beautiful. I listen to Jessica's theme all the time.
I've actually ate big grub worms like that before at a restaurant. They're a delicacy in some countries. They taste like a juicy boiled peanut to me combined with whatever spices and sauces they're cooked in.
Tom Selleck's rifle is a Sharps metallic cartridge breech loader. Sharps rifles date back to before the Civil War. Originally they handled a .52 - .54 caliber paper cartridge that required a separate cap to fire. After the Civil War brass cased bullets took over and certain rifles like the Sharps became very popular, especially after winning some of the Creedmore matches. I actually have a pre-Civil War Sharps carbine that was used by the Union Cavalry. I've shot it a few times and can attest to its accuracy even if it is a carbine.
Great reaction - it was fun to see it through your eyes. And definitely watch Love Actually - "To me, you are perfect." Tom Selleck still stars in Blue Bloods on CBS.
Based on your reaction to this movie I think both of you would enjoy watching Man From Snowy River and the sequel Return To Snowy River. They are based in 1880's Australia. Western, horses galore, romance, amazing riding sequences. I think you would love them.

Warms my heart to see the ladies enjoying good Westerns. Out of all the women I’ve dated, only one enjoyed Westerns. I now consider her “the one that got away”🤪
Loved your reaction to this; Alan Rickman nearly stole the film as he so often seems to do. Honestly didn't think I'd ever see anyone react to this one. One of only two movies I like that Tom Selleck is in; other one being a Sci-fi one called Runaway, from 1984, and the only project I've ever seen Laura San Giacomo in. I adore this film; more fable and fairy tale than western; part of a run of films trying to revive the western by taking it out of the fabled American West, but the only one that truly came up with something original I felt, kerk
And I was just thinking I had to edit my comment, as I totally forgot Mr. Baseball, and was reminded going, ''D'oh!'' when I was rewatching your Field of Dreams reaction. I'd plead old age, but my memory has been that f.. erratic since I was a kid :-) kerk
Since you two are crazy about love stories you need to watch "Ghost" (1990), it's definitely for you. Also "The Bridges of Madison County" (1995) is great and worth a watch.
DAMN you girls are in HEAT with this one all about some Tom Selleck & Laura San Giacomo, I've never seen you guys like this before, you're hysterical!!! I love it!!! ❤️ CHEERS!!!
Please please also react to Lonesome Dove. I’ve mentioned it before but I really do think you guys will love it. Probably the best western story ever written and then turned into a 4 part mini series. Both Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones have said they consider it their finest work.
Good to see a movie that, instead of doing Cowboys vs. Indians, did Cowboy vs. Genocide. e: Tom Selleck movies? Start with Runaway for the action/sci-fi angle, and Three Men and a Baby for the romcom angle.
Young Guns and Quigley Down Under. My two absolute favorite westerns. Check out "January Man". Three men and a baby had a sequel with the baby grown up. Three men and a little lady
I was going to say "The best Australian western," but then I remembered that I used to love the Australian TV series "Rush" which aired on American PBS. It was set during the Australian gold rush in the 1850s, and with its frontier and interaction with indigenous people themes, it had a very western vibe.
Theres about 50 truly great, all encompassing, huge scenes, music, story soundtrack characters, etc., and this is one of those movies! Tom selleck...3 men and a baby, a futuristic 80s movie where he's a cop...Runaway, he did a bunch of TV movies about a character named Jesse Stone, a semi regular character on Friends, movies In and Out, Ruby Jean and Joe, Mr Baseball, An Innocent man, her alibi, Lassiter, high road to china.
Tombstone is a great modern western to watch. It has a lot of great stars with some of the absolute best one liners in history. Another good one, i think is, 3:10 to Yuma, with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. I'm not knocking this movie though. I think this one is awesome too.
This movie makes me wonder if it would have made any difference if the Aboriginals were white and looking at thousands of years of European history with white Europeans waging war against each other, I have to guess, it wouldn't have mattered one jot. Also, Laura San Giacomo has always been crazy hot, from "Pretty Woman" through the TV series "Just Shoot Me", and I've always thought it strange that Tom Selleck never had more of a big screen presence.
Tom missed his big chance when he couldn't get Indy. He was first choice but due to what he believed to be filming conflicts, he had to turn down Raiders. He later found out that Raiders was filming on the other side of the island from where he was shooting Magnum. He could have done both and instead of Indy launching Harrison Ford into the stratosphere due to being paired with his popularity from Star Wars, it would have been Tom Selleck getting the fedora, jacket and whip and Ford would have just had Star Wars.

My biggest regret. When my ‘Cora’ went away for college very far away, I gave up on us. I walked away from her and did not look back. Many, many years passed and I learned she’s okay, but I regret the choice I made to this day. I love this film. Thank you ladies for reacting to this gem.
Quigley Down Under is awesome I've seen it before with my granny
been a fav of mine since it first came out. love when new people experience it.
Two really appealing actors--Laura San Giacamo and Matthew Sellek make a surprisingly great couple. Good reaction!
I saw that movie three times. One of my favorites.
"The Man from Snowy River" is another good Australian western that you guys would enjoy. 👍💯
I second the nomination.
I concur
@@Michael-id9bw I love The Man from Snowy River so much! It was the highest grossing Australian movie until Crocodile Dundee. The music for it is so beautiful. I listen to Jessica's theme all the time.
Yes, he was actually based on a real guy, the rifle was an actual rifle, and real ammo, and yes, u can buy it!😮😮😮😮
I've actually ate big grub worms like that before at a restaurant.
Wow. Havint seen anyone let alone 2 reaction to this movie.thanks it's a good one.😊
You ladies are beautiful. But you really need to do "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" you'll get a kick out of it.
Great reaction - it was fun to see it through your eyes. And definitely watch Love Actually - "To me, you are perfect." Tom Selleck still stars in Blue Bloods on CBS.
Quigley Motor Company makes 4x4 van conversions, owned by the Quigley family.
Based on your reaction to this movie I think both of you would enjoy watching Man From Snowy River and the sequel Return To Snowy River. They are based in 1880's Australia. Western, horses galore, romance, amazing riding sequences. I think you would love them.
Tom Selleck did a bunch of made for TV movies based on Jesse Stone. They are pretty solid movies, if you like detective stories.
"Crazy Cora" is Laura San Giacomo, & was with David Spade ("Joe Dirt";) in his post- SNL "Just Sh**t Me!" on TV in '90's! 📺 & react to "Joe Dirt" 🎥, ladies! 🤞😜🤘
Producer's note: Joe Dirt is so much fun! I'm not certain we would do it though, because it may lead to too many political discussions in the comments and we'd rather avoid that.
@@RuntotheMoviesTom Selleck was in "3 Men & a Baby", & it was a big hit with the ladies, takin' care of a baby girl of 1 of...aw, just react to it! 🤞😊
She was also in Pretty Woman.
@p.mc.4449 And in the 1994 tv miniseries The Stand.
"Cindefunkinrella."
One of the best westerns ever.
Warms my heart to see the ladies enjoying good Westerns. Out of all the women I’ve dated, only one enjoyed Westerns. I now consider her “the one that got away”🤪
ahh great so many creative movies at this time
The ending is reminiscent of 'Zulu' with the indigenous showing numbers on the surrounding ridges to a rather small British military force.
Just when you think Quigley went back to pick up on unconscious Cora, you find out he just returned to get his ammo belt.
It's not such an easy decision life gives us sometimes. 4 or 5 moments. ;-) (Deadpool reference)
I had an orange cat. Named Quigley
That's a good cat name. 🙂
Tom Selleck movies that you should see:
The Sacketts, Mr. Baseball, High Road to China, Meet the Robinsons (he did the voice for the Dad)
Most underrated movie *ever*.
Great movie. Great writing and acting. Peace, Love!!
Quigley was literally a Sharp-shooter.
I see what you did there,, well said sir, well said...
Based upon this reaction you Must watch "Open Range" Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall......Cowboys, shootouts, Revenge and Love story you will abide.
Producer's note: we have a reaction to Open Range here on the channel. 😸
An innocent man, I think that’s the title, with Tom Selleck and any Jesse Stone movie
These girls need to see The Man From Snowy River. Jim's gonna take them down, under.
@@stephenfuller2119 did you know you can ride the trail where they made that movie with the actor.
I was glad to see her show up in some episodes of the t.v. show NCIS.
Y'all need more cowboys and westerns in yer life.
Love this movie ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎥❤
One of my favorite westerns. Three Men and a Baby is another Tom Selleck movie you’ll like.
It's hard to imagine, but Tom Selleck was the first choice to play Indiana Jones, glad he couldn't get out of his obligation to Magnum P.I.
I remember seeing this in the theater.. I think I was around 15..
You would like The Wind and the Lion . GREAT GREAT movie
Idc this is my favorite western ever
