I enjoyed your review of the ProMark Rattler, especially since I patented it... A few comments for the players - those who want that extra color in their sound, and wise enough to purchase one from ProMark... :) 1. It's important that the chain be trimmed to the size of the cymbal it's used on. Beads extending over the edge do nothing for the sound. Clip 'em off as you've demonstrated. 2. Also important to know that the cup is designed the way it is for a purpose. It acts as sort of a "glove" for the felt washer which, in turn, provides a bit of "push back" or resistance to the wing nut and prevents it from loosening up. 3. There is no felt on the underside of the cup because it's not needed. The dome of the cymbal is already dampened a bit by the supporting felt underneath. 4. The cup is made of high-impact polystyrene and it can stand up to an errant stroke. But it you hit it with a baseball bat... 5. The smaller chain of the Sizzler produces a more sustained sound. The Rattler's larger chain produces a more pronounced sound. Keep up the videos. They're interesting and well done. And keep playing forever! Sincerely, Bob Otto (imprint on the cup says "Made in USA by OTTO" - I'm the guy...)
thanks for the video...you should also include a "walk the dog" ride cymbal beat, due to the fact that rattler replace rivets and they are mainly used on jazz. Cheers
