I so appreciate your videos. I was just diagnosed with mild to moderate AHDH on Monday (inattentive ADD now as an 40 year old adult female). I’ve had it my entire life, I just got very good at masking it and coping on my own. I forced myself to be still and quiet all while overthinking and doubting myself constantly. I was afraid of being judged or shamed for not being more focused or organized with my thoughts and things. I’ve had anxiety and feelings of being overwhelmed from it, and have even shied away from people and social events. I tended to shop and overeat junk food for the dopamine hit my brain was looking for. There were tears after the diagnosis, but I also found it’s something that runs in our family. Through your videos, even before I was diagnosed, I was encouraged to exercise more, improve my diet and learning to be my authentic self and create a happy, cozy environment which I noticed improved my symptoms. Things like music, meditation, bubble baths and being out more in nature helped me feel centered and more creative (turns out those are some of the natural ways to manage what I have). I’m going to try natural methods to manage symptoms and hopefully not need medicine, although it’s good to know it’s there if I do need it. Your videos were already encouraging me to do things that helped! I feel a little grief and even anger at getting this diagnosis now as an adult female and not earlier, but that’s okay. Life is a journey. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much of an encouragement and comfort you are. There have been a lot of tears the last few days, but I always feel joy and hope watching you. It feels so good to laugh and smile. I look forward to my cup of coffee and listening to you, sometimes while doing other chores or tasks which makes them much more enjoyable and doable. It motivates me to be myself and to be more authentic, and my therapist recommended that as one of the first things we are going to work on. Accepting who I am and not beating myself up over how my mind works, but learning how to accept it and even make it work for me. There’s always a light, no matter what’s going on, and you help so many of us see that. Thank you 🩵

Thank you so much for sharing that with all of us!! You may help someone else with this share. And I'm sure many of us are on the spectrum or have AHDH or ADHD. I'm sure I have a little bit of both and have been looking into it. I love a diagnosis because then I can enjoy who I am and not feel like the odd one out. I can learn to work with it and embrace it, have it work for me. You are not alone.

I feel you are describing a lot of my experience. I have isolated myself over the years because it’s easier in some ways. I, too, have felt not only a relief at making sense of things over the course of my life, yet a deep sadness as well. Wondering how my life could have been different had I been DX and helped. I could go on and on but I won’t. You are certainly not alone. 💙

No you are definitely not alone.
I too think I have had anxiety my entire life and at age 57 was hospitalized twice for severe anxiety (I could barely walk, had lost 25 lbs, and was a nervous and just sick wreck)…
I too enjoy your videos too Kate so much.
We are not alone. We are probably more normal than most .
Especially those who portray their picture perfect lives on social media.
Not reality I have come to realize
I am probably the healthiest I have been in my life at age 61 now.
Lots of exercise from walking, gardening, swimming, quiet time daily, and just blocking out all the negative things like the news as much as possible , yet staying informed about what is happening immediately around me.
Not in denial of anything, just tending to my own mental health for the first time in my life.
Hello to all from SC and thanks always Kate.💕😊🙏🏻😎🏝️

Just my 2 cents Kate, but you don't need an alter ego - you can be anything. A mom, a homemaker, a writer, and crazy lady, a soul seeker, a peace maker, a frugalist, a decorator, - ANYTHING!!!!!!! It is all inside you already! Don't change.

The fact that those with lower income tend to eat more processed foods isn't necessarily because they are cheaper. It alao has to do with what people have access to. Farmer's markets and good grocery stores are limited in areas of high poverty. Research has shown for decades that those of lower income tend to live in food deserts where there isn't access to fresh foods. Sometimes the only place to shop is a convenience store or Dollar General.

Sour dough starter is very easy, you just have to nurture it a little every day, and understand how it works. I just used a quart size canning jar and a paper towel, the flour and water. It's just a little bit of science. And once you get it started, you can keep it going on forever , as long as it doesn't spoil.

Hi Kate. I agree about staying home with the kids if one parent is able to. It's so incredibly important because it's their foundation for the rest of their lives. My mom stayed home with my sister and I and look how great I turned out! Lol, just kidding. Anyway, I think it's absolutely crucial that parents raise their own kids. That sounds so crazy when you say it out loud because parents should but unfortunately they don't. Most kids get raised by daycare, teachers and after school programs. It's sad really.
Yah, there's a lot of issues with olive oil dramas I've heard about also. The most important thing is to get 100% pure, extra virgin olive oil from one country or region for traceability and quality, in a glass bottle if possible also. I do what I can with my budget but 9 times out of 10, I can usually only afford the olive oil in a plastic container but I'm thankful for that at least. I love olive oil too much and couldn't imagine cooking without it. 😁👍
Have a great day today! 💗

My past self can relate to fast food being more affordable. Back then it was much cheaper to buy a cheeseburger or two from the value menu as a meal than buy the beef, cheese, buns, lettuce, tomato, onion & pickles at the store. Sorry but it was 🤷‍♀️ Super grateful things are better now and we can focus more on health & vitality.

Kate, have you tried making vegan Mayo? It’s really amazing and this recipe is thick. You can use olive oil if you like the flavor of it. I’m WFPB and make my own condiments also. And vegan Mayo is CRAZY expensive now!
    Ingredients
1/2 cup plain unsweetened soy milk
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar or lemon or lime juice or white vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 cup neutral flavored oil (avocado)
    Instructions
Make sure all your ingredients are room temperature. If your milk is cold, you can microwave it for about 10 seconds.
Add the original soy milk, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, sea salt and mustard in a jar and stir together.
Pour the oil over the soy milk mixture. Let it sit for about a minute.
Place your immersion blender into the bottom of the jar. Blend and keep it firmly pressed against the bottom for about 15 seconds while the mixture emulsifies. Slowly move the blender up and down to properly blend and incorporate all the ingredients until thick and fully combined.
Taste and add/adjust any ingredients if needed. Place in a sealed jar in the fridge. It thickens up in the fridge even more.

I understand why people say it’s cheaper to eat processed foods but only if you live in a food desert. If you live in a community with sufficient grocery stores and you shop the SALES around the perimeter of the store one can eat very well! Even if you are on a special diet (outside of insisting to eat organic only). I am in AZ and this week skinless boneless chicken breast is 99 cent a pound. Mini watermelon and cantaloupe $1.49 ea. Broccoli and cauliflower $0.99 / lb. Kale, romaine etc1.99. Strawberries 1.29. And that’s just one store. We all know how cheap beans potatoes and rice are. Again, as long as you’re not in a food desert the choice is yours to buy food that will nourish or food that will cause harm. The issue I see most is that these are not convenience foods. We all need to learn some kitchen basics and be sure to teach them to our children.
Dig your chats Kate! Have a blessed day!

@@KL-tp3gq let's see, I bake pizza at 420 and anywhere from 10 to 18 minutes depending on how much you put on it and if you put two pizzas in at once. Start with 10 minutes and check. I roll the dough think so once the top and cheese is cooked it is usually done.
