I'm still mining on GPUs about 2 out of every 3 months. when it goes completely negative, I turn off, but if there's even a little positive I mine. Right now, Ergo is positive. Plus I have 21 solar panels. Its always profitable during sunlight daylight. Some days I turn on with the sun and turn off with the sun.
GPU mining rentals have also wrecked GPU mineable coins due to the profit-seeking nature of rental. The market is also still saturated from all the GPUs from the eth days.
I don't know that I can agree, just because we've only had one cycle where alts pumped before BTC. In that cycle we had 2 tops, one happened in April with Alts topping in May - Nov and the second top happening in November. Even Eth had a 2 top situation with one happening in May and the other happening in Nov. But previous cycles (2017 and very limited alts in 2013) Alts would tend to peak after BTC. Now whether my theory holds true? Dunno, but I'll stick with the experience I have currently with Alts following BTC in their peaks. So I don't think we've seen Alt season and what could happen with it.
It's the coins/pools too. Xelis was doing like 2/3 a day for me and the price on it has gone up quite a bit. Yet the amount I still get is just 2/3 dollars a day. Fishy 🐟

Or would you hang to everything and hope GPU mining comes back and it sky rockets prices again so you can mine for a bit then sell equipment at a high as well?
I know the mine now sell the pump that's the new strat. Point is most looking for daily profits isn't there anymore and that's what cause the GPU mining hype and what people keep expecting.

The eth era casued a lot of gpu's to be online (they are still out there but just hidden and waiting for the right moment to come back) To get rid of the effect that eth had and made a lof of gpu's come online is to simply wait until 3000 serie becoems obsoletere in terms of efficienty and that means that all those hardware from eth era are now useless. 4000 serie nvidia couldn't do it unfortunatly. That being said, I do see gpu mining make comeback with rtx 5000 serie and above.
Yup agree once 5090s start looking good and people don't wanna update (which they will need to for profits) hashrates will start dropping and GPUs will be back but only for people with the latest hardware.
Its because of the mantra "break even or better" coming from youtubers. In the past when people would shut down they would sell out of the game. Today.. everyone is holding on tight, running 1 rig on break even or better, and when profits pump, they turn on the rest of the farm. Anytime it gets tough, theres a video telling miners to keep holding.. 🤷🏻♂️
But there is still chance because alt coin market is sitting at just 1/3 of what it used to be in 2021. Though btc crossed its ATH altcoins are yet to explode. Once money enters in alt coins what i believe is consistent decent profits for gpu miners. Thoughts?😅

omg people are still out there GPU mining? Amazing. I lost interest in chasing GPU mining when the RTX series took off and were nowhere to be found. Still use one of my 6700XT to game on! All I do is ARM mine these days. Make a tidy bundle using hardly any power (100% powered by solar even on cloudy days) and generating exceptionally little heat. 4 120mm fans turned down as low as they'll go cools >100 ARM devices. I got out of my RVN just as the BTC run started, just tired of sitting on it and watching the downward slope. Only gave up ~50 bucks.
man kaspa lol... was selling it as getting it in on cpu... only kept 204+- and i was dumping it into mostly btc and then some in plsr... i regret the plsr part... should have dumped that garbage into btc as soon as it rebranded... (referring to plsr as the garbage, was promising before the rebrand, heck even the best most efficient cpu mining algorithm for a while....)
There are coins in the shadows that will pump long term. Around Christmas things will be better. But i see what you're doing... my hardware hands will remain diamond none the less

It is not dead as long as you can do it better conditions, like cheaper electricity , correct GPUs , correct algorithm and so on.I am currently building up a GPU farm with over 5000 GPUs because i am sick and tired of Asic suppliers pump/dump plays.

Maybe do a special video comparing solo to pool mining? They say luck always averages out, but depending on the individual miner, they may have all the luck right away. Ping is important for sure, but sometimes you just get lucky! When I first started mining in 2020 on ETH, a buddy of mine and I pooled together and tried to grab a 10000$ block of eth. We only had 1.8GH but we hit a block at 5%. That was a good day
This bullrun is not going to be a GPU mining cycle, it’s a CPU mining cycle. So if you did what I did the past 2 years and sold all your GPU’s to invest in CPU mining hardware then right now you are doing pretty good with PepePow, it went up in price about x5-x6 within the last week! Whoop whoop!
