+Awenky look into roll20.com or roll20.net not sure which one but its an online service that links players and dms the entire thing is free and it allows players to make characters chat via text or voice and allows the dm to create maps and tell his story.

That is so weird, I started scrolling through comments, and right as I started reading this, it came up in the video. In an almost hour long video, that is some crazy odds.

These are literally the peak pf Acq Inc. for me - the whole story is cool, but none of it is as hilarious, awkward, downright painful, real and fucking raw as the first three podcasts.

Did 4e really require the person being healed by a spell to use up resources? That's wild
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some actions like Cure Light Wounds say "the target regains HP as if they spent a healing surge", but does not require the actual expending of a surge. Lay on Hands actually uses the Paladin's healing surge instead of the target's, which is very helpful if you have, say, a Beastmaster Ranger in the party who has to juggle their surge pool between both themselves and their companion.
I do prefer surges over hit dice, because since they're a set amount, you can budget more easily for how many you think you're going to use in a given day. Plus you never have the issue of rolling a 1 on your hit dice and being like "well, guess I have to use another one".

“Wheatoning” should be slang for a 30 second explanation of your grand design for your turn complete with a thorough reading of the exciting spell you plan to cast and all the other awesome bonuses and actions it will grant you right before you roll a 1.
People who shake a twenty in their palm for ten seconds while they examine their record sheet prior to rolling drive me nuts.
Call your action and roll the damn dice. Maybe try and roll a 1 first before you tell all of us what is not about to happen?

Wil Wheaton's, "Does '19' work for ya?" at least pre-dates this... So obviously, it has nothing to do with 'acid pits.' Besides, he never actually rolls a '19' to get out of the acid pit... He said he did, but not really...

4e battles are real snorefests. Rules, rules, rules. And so long. I'm still listening, bc season 1 was fun, and I expect the fun to return at some point, first PAX episode at the latest.
When I'm introducing people I generally recommend starting with Darkmagic Mansion. It has a Straub intro with all the previous adventures, some musical accompaniment, and Jim is on fire for every second.
@@kieran10202It’s so strange - I feel like the first three podcasts are my favorite Acq Inc. episodes in the entire series. They’re so hilarious, and at the same time so git wrenching when you can hear real frustration and anger in the players.
@@Idziemel1 as time went on i think they got more self conscious. Personally I like the 4th arc where they do tomb of annihilation. I like Strix becoming Jim's arch rival.
