The non-lucrative visa offered by Spain is a popular option for those seeking permanent residency in the country for the purposes of living there or retiring there. If you don't want to work in Spain or are retiring there, this is your best bet.
The non-lucrative residence residency is a type of Spanish visa for those from outside the European Union who have enough money to support themselves without working. It's fine to bring your family, as they are considered part of the applicant pool.
With this visa, you can enter Spain and stay for an entire year. Its primary drawback is that you are legally barred from working or conducting business in Spain. To rephrase, you are not allowed to work for any local company. It operates exclusively for charitable purposes.
    ▶️ Non-lucrative visa Spain requirements:
    • You can maintain yourself and any family members without having to work.
    • Have adequate private medical insurance in Spain or international ex-pat health insurance.
    • Are in good physical condition.
    • You don't have any severe criminal convictions on your record.
▶️ People who applied for a non-lucrative visa from the Philippines and got approved:
    • They are of retirement age
    • Exceeded the financial requirements
    • Used a lawyer throughout the entire application process
    • Write a convincing letter of intent
▶️ Challenges you might encounter when you arrive in Spain:
    • Applying for a bank account
    • Finding an apartment
    • You need to show income from a current job
    • Finding fellow NLV people
    • Figuring out which city to live
So, watch the video till the end and share your thoughts on how was your experience with applying for the Non-Lucrative Visa in the comment section.

Tip - Learn Spanish at an official Instituto de Cervantes language school. Theyre GLOBAL! Then you can study the dele a2 there and the diploma is valid for your nationality application and no need to sit it !

I just came from Spain a few weeks ago. Fell in love with it and thinking of moving. This video was so helpful. I’m actually trying to trace my lineage there as to my knowledge we have roots in Galicia and I believe we also have an ancestor that worked for the Spanish government while they were in our country. I’m kind of aiming for whichever path is necessary, I was thinking of the non-lucrative Visa as well and just plan to study further education while in Spain and letting the 2 years pass. Hope to meet you guys or talk to you, by lawyer did you mean lawyers based in the Philippines who helped with the application?

    • @EverythingIsBoffo

The lineage might be a problem, I think they only allow parents or grandparents to pass on the nationality to their children so unless your grandparents are Spanish citizens this route might not for you. Thanks for this. I’ve been to Spain many times & I regret not taking the path towards permanent residency instead of applying to Australia which never happened anyway.
I’m a Filipino living in the US. But have I known about visa options for Filipinos in Spain, I would never have considered Australia & paid those hefty prices! Although application to Spain also sounds like an expensive journey. But Spain & Australia, although both are better than the US, I think Spain is still an overall winner. Australia is a very expensive place to live in.

For the NLV you must have enough money to live there without being a burden on the public system, by showing savings or passive income.
Spain’s cost of living is comparatively lower than the US, and some Filipinos have said at par with Philippines. If you look at numbeo to compare Valencia with Pasig, groceries are cheaper here in Spain. Also keep in mind that public transportation is reliable in Spain, no need to get a car unlike the Philippines.
I don’t know about paying tax as a requirement, but the 2 year residency is a requirement.

Hello and thank you for watching! This visa does not allow you to work in Spain. However, there are other visas that may be available to you that allows work. It will depend on your situation. I suggest looking at your consulate website and reading about all the visas that are available and see if you qualify for them. Good luck!

Hindi naman, kasi hindi mo naman kailangan gastusin lahat ng required, gusto lang makita ng españa na sapat yung pera mo para hindi maging pabigat sa social services nila. Kaya madaming pensionado or may passive income na naka NLV. If may tanong ka pa PM mo lang kami, thanks for watching! ☺️
