In the animal world as soon as the number of predators reduce the number of other species below the predator increases. E.g when the number of foxes fall the numbers of rabbit increase almost exponentially. This we have all learnt at secondary school. And we have also learn when things like this occur it disrupts the food chain as a whole so these rabbits will have more babies and they would destroy more food in farmland. As humans we are part of the food chain, if we stop eating for example beef, the number of cows would increase without natural management an the grass of our land would be completely exhausted. When there is no grass the risk of landslides would increase and number of smaller creatures that feed on grass would die off. The livestock, if left alone, will inevitably becomes a pest. Pests in the sense that the large quantity of animals would need food and eat crops from farmland which would legislate the 'culling' of these animals for the sake of protection of crops. This would lead to an unethical killing of sheep's, lambs, cows through culling. As we see in nature some animals can only eat meat for example Lions, Leopard and Wolves these animals can never become vegen, and these rules cannot be applied to them. If we did apply these vegen rules on them we would be at war with nature, and ultimately doing greater harm than good. I can understand why vegens do what they do, and in Islam and most religions we believe to not cause unecessary suffering but applying the strictness of vegenism would create more harm than good in society as a whole. There are places in the world were animals are killed for no reason only that they have exceeded in number where some genuine harm is caused to the ecosystem. Therefore these creatures have to be put down to prevent harm to the environment. When they are put down they are neither eaten nor any benefit to anyone. A world which is purely vegen would result in more deaths to animals from the process of culling rather than eating. There's actually no point in discussing animal rights and all that with vegans. Every creature has given food habits. So being Non Veg is not something bad. There are so many creatures. But we consume on large scale certain animals due to our natural food habits like cow, lamb, chicken , goat. Just a thought. Is speakers corner about debating or sharing a thought? If it is sharing a thought, then it should be less about proving right or wrong but sensible enough to uphold a stand yet tolerence in in sharing a view but not nessecarily accepting it. The vegan way is not the right way:
1- because if we don’t eat animal (i’m not saing that we have to eat them all the times) then we will have a over growth of the number of animal, there for we have to kill more plants and animals that lives in thoses plants ( ants, ....) to feed those animal ( if someone gonna respond but we still have to kill plants to feed animal in order to eat them : yes but if we didn’t eat animals we will have less plants then animal and we need plants to leave more then animal it is a survive instance)

If we don't eat chickens and the chicken is allowed to live longer, how do we measure its suffering in terms of years of accrued stress/fear due to weather and avoiding predators, and its ultimate death due to being eaten by a predator or it simply dying of illness? In the animal world as soon as the number of predators reduce the number of other species below the predator increases. E.g when the number of foxes fall the numbers of rabbit increase almost exponentially. This we have all learnt at secondary school. And we have also learn when things like this occur it disrupts the food chain as a whole so these rabbits will have more babies and they would destroy more food in farmland.
As humans we are part of the food chain, if we stop eating for example beef, the number of cows would increase without natural management an the grass of our land would be completely exhausted. When there is no grass the risk of landslides would increase and number of smaller creatures that feed on grass would die off.
The livestock, if left alone, will inevitably becomes a pest. Pests in the sense that the large quantity of animals would need food and eat crops from farmland which would legislate the 'culling' of these animals for the sake of protection of crops. This would lead to an unethical killing of sheep's, lambs, cows through culling.
As we see in nature some animals can only eat meat for example Lions, Leopard and Wolves these animals can never become vegen, and these rules cannot be applied to them. If we did apply these vegen rules on them we would be at war with nature, and ultimately doing greater harm than good.
I can understand why vegens do what they do, and in Islam and most religions we believe to not cause unecessary suffering but applying the strictness of vegenism would create more harm than good in society as a whole.
There are places in the world were animals are killed for no reason only that they have exceeded in number where some genuine harm is caused to the ecosystem. Therefore these creatures have to be put down to prevent harm to the environment. When they are put down they are neither eaten nor any benefit to anyone. This is definitely more morally wrong that something is killed for no reason. animal dies with no reason not even to be eaten. Please look at the Camel crisis is Australia.
A world which is purely vegen would result in more deaths to animals from the process of culling rather than eating. The former (culling) is worse than the later, as at least the latter is helping another specie survive.
Nowadays I can understand, even in Islam, that because of the many companies wanting to increase profits animals are kept in very harsh conditions and given antibiotics and growth hormones. In Islam this form of farming we understand to be harming animals and causing suffering and in the religion should not do. I think rather a campaigns to stop this is the priority and Christians Muslims and all belief system will agree to this fact that we should stop harming animals like this, as e.g battery hens suffer a lot.

Just a thought. Is speakers corner about debating or sharing a thought? If it is sharing a thought, then it should be less about proving right or wrong but sensible enough to uphold a stand yet tolerence in in sharing a view but not nessecarily accepting it. In respect the easiest form of dakwah should be more about sharing the common. Enlightening the common practice, such as discussing the prophets diet etc.
I think apart from debates, sharing knowledge and middle ground is better. Platform like tedtalk is pleasant to digest then intensity of a debate. I feel it is better tone and platform to express.
