I hope this breakdown is of any help & let me know if I missed anything! Make sure to share your thoughts on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: are you looking forward to this game? P.S. Apologies for the sultry voice but my vocal cords are under siege from a huge cold.
You're absolutely right, luckily the preorder benefits don't have that much FOMO-character so it's really a matter of how much faith you have in the game up front. I believe that, given the content of the digital deluxe and ultimate editions, is really meant for the longtime fans of the stalker franchise. For the more generalist or even casual gamer, it will be less of a sentimental decision and they will want to see some "proof" of the game being worth a) for starters the price of the base game and b) going above the standard edition.
@SirStefanGaming they've been updating it nonstop on my Xbox. Just did a 130 something gig update last night. Think that might have been the actual game, but the past week it's been updating a bunch. (Downloaded via gamepass)
GSC hasn't said anything about upgrades yet where you just pay the difference in price between versions. As is; you would pay full price for a different version.
@@derbybOyzZ how does that even matter. Not like reviewers had full walkthrough and there is a guy who got game early on console and havent encountered major performance issues/bugs in hours of playthrough
Yeah that's a tricky one but luckily for you there will be hundreds of reviews in 6 months time to watch/read. 🙂 My personal experience is that an embargo will last until a few days before launch, not just a few hours so that is out of the ordinary. However for me it doesn't automatically imply that means there an intent to "hide" something (because I see that being suggested in some content). Seems logical that GSC wants to preserve the gameplay experience and prevent spoilers. They're publishing themselves which gives them room to uphold a different embargo vs release time-window.
€80 for the deluxe edition and €110 for the ultimate edition? I don't know if it's a thing of the Microsoft Store or my country (Spain) but for me they cost €97 and €133 respectively with the only similar price being the standard edition wich costs €60.49
That is so weird and a real bummer for you! I'm confused because the deluxe and ultimate editions are digital so it's not like you have to pay for shipping or anything. If you look the game up on the Steam website or in the app; what do the prices say there?
And I did specifically tell my good friend Bill last weekend to keep it real for the folks wanting to purchase Stalker 2... No in all seriousness that's annoying, I'm assuming you're looking to but the Xbox version of the game?
@@SirStefanGaming Yes but i'm not going to preorder it nor buy it at launch since i play on Series S and i don't want to play it at 30 FPS but i'm hoping that a future performance update fixes that
They did not give any details on an 60fps mode for the s series but they didn't rule it out either. Here's to hoping they've put that on the to-do list above the fold!
I agree that's the core experience where you should have that sense of loneliness and I get why GSC chose not too have co-op, although I think being able to go through the experience with a friend might also be a lot of fun.
349€ for the ultimate edition if you got the first, not re-reprinted version. Also shipping is free, but we need to pay 5€ because of age verification trough delivery😄
You need to pay to verify your age? That's wild, I haven't seen that before! I take it inflation made the prices go up over time. I tried to preorder October last year but couldn't...I guess stock for the first batch was already gone by then.
@@SirStefanGaming Yeah. I pre-ordered the UE on Amazon Germany on 11/11/24😄 and if that order contains an object "USK 18" you need to accept the package in person and show your ID for the age. The CE and UE are available the last few days again. But only single ones. Maybe from cancellations🤔
Good for you that you got your preorder in on time! That's possible; one of the reasons could be that people have seen more information emerge (or got spooked by the lack of any recent, actual gameplay footage) and decided to cancel or downsize to a regular edition.
@@SirStefanGaming All possible, yes. The only thing is that the shipping has to be on time xD And currently it says "until 8pm" so 3 hours after release😬
Thanks for letting me know, I hadn't spotted them yet! Too late for it now but if I'm lucky enough to come across them relatively soon after launch then I can still showcase them in a follow-up.
It reminds me of the Star Wars Outlaws "Jabba's Gambit" bonus quest also being part of a more expensive game edition. It's usually of so little impact to the overall experience of the game itself that it's never really an incentive to spend more money.
@@papichuckle not yet, I still have to get to isolating that particular quest and compare it the alternatives, OR happen to come across the info some other way but I havent. Im now focussing on reviewing the mechanics but I'll keep an eye out for it along the way and update it in a new video that covers all the particular gear.
I know it's a big step up from €60! And to pre-order DLC before knowing you will like the base game to begin with; that's always risky. Best to wait on reviews for the story expansions in due time.

Hard to be excited to preorder or to get the deluxe/ultimate editions when they're holding reviews under embargo until the last minute.

I pre ordered it on steam. If there are any problems I'll return it.
But I'm sure the game will be great.
@ChalresVanexX Are you trying to make me jealous about PC not having a preload? 😛
When will the 2 story expansions be available? Is that immediately at launch or is that down the road at some point?
The 2 story expansions will be available down the road.
On the specs, in my opinion, more seems to be gained depending on the size of the graphic card and maybe the CPU. What are your opinions, please?
I'm sorry, I'm not entirely sure what you mean; gained by GPU and CPU as opposed to what exactly?
I buy a deluxe edition on steam before, now can i continue buy version ultimate edition on steam with low price ? Or need to buy all again?
GSC hasn't said anything about upgrades yet where you just pay the difference in price between versions. As is; you would pay full price for a different version.
Pre-ordered my ultimate edition yesterday!
Cant wait to get into the zone.
Then the countdown has really begun, only 16 more hours to go :) Cheeki breeki Stalker!
review embargo lifting 2 hours before release means i'm buying this in 6 months when multiplayer, bug/performance patch, dlc, mods are released.

Thanks for the heads-up! Less than 25 hours to go!

Already confirmed multiplayer will not be coop, it will be pvp.
@@spugelo359 Thanks man! Pvp sounds interesting though..as if strange anomolies trying to kill you wasnt enough! Thanks for sharing.
This is a bit disappointing, but i already pre ordered ultimate anyway

I'm pretty sure you should get a digital key for the game in your e-mail. The package should just be the physical items.
Thank you for your help and your video
Thanks for the compliment, always happy to help!
Will it even run on series s…?
30fps performance
It will! For Xbox Series S, you’re looking at 30fps for now but GSC has mentioned that a performance mode at 60fps could be possible in the future
There are skins in trailers for ak and ar or something

Locking a single side quest behind a paywall on day one is just scummy

@SirStefanGaming yeah I remember that
If it gives you a new ending then it will be even worse that it's locked
I doubt they'll go that far, that would be really dumb.
@SirStefanGaming I've heard it does affect the ending, have you been able to find out ?
I cant see anything online
