    Thank you, just fitted and set my zero using your video I upgraded my -1's to -2 pitch sliders. I had the same brand of multimeter as you, but could not get a reading for the hz. So instead I set it using the pitch dots at 6%. I've got a timecode vinyl setup which I'm going to double check the pitch positions with. But all my dead spots are gone. Thanks again

    Thanks for the great video. How much do you charge to replace the pitch control? I have 2 turntables from 1985 that need pitch replacements. Thank You

    Great video, I've got 2 decks that need the pitch replaced so I'm doing the research. Do you have a source that you'd recommend I purchase the pots from ? I've seen numerous OEM parts available but not sure which would be the best choice..

      If I remember correctly, I bought replacement pitch fader parts from 1200s.com. Their part number is SFDZ122N11-2 (this is for a pair of potentiometers). I'm extremely satisfied with these faders. You can get them with or without the "click" in the middle -- I got mine with the "click" as that's what I prefer. Good luck with your repair!

    Hi thanks for the video. What is the issue if the fader is faulty? I mean what's the turntable behaviour. thank you

    • @djdoop596
      @djdoop596  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the fader is faulty or worn out, you'll experience dead spots and uneven speed changes as you slide the fader up and down.

    Is there a specific type of solder/soldering iron temperature preferred? Thanks

    • @djdoop596
      @djdoop596  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I like to use 63/37 Sn/Pb solder, because it is eutectic (basically this means that it melts and solidifies at the same temperature) and therefore makes for a better overall soldering experience. It melts at 183°C but you probably want to set your iron to 250°C to start. Depending on your soldering iron, you may have to vary the temperature for best results. I know in the video I set my iron way too hot, but I was less knowledgeable when I made the video.

    Really good tutorial bro but i am facing a problem for a month now that no one can help me.
    I own both a 1200 mk2 and a 1210 mk2 for 2 months. Everything was ok till the moment i decided to clean up the faders.
    I followed every step of yours with lubricants and contact cleaners. I measured the ohms 2.7 with a multimeter i owned and i put the fader back. I play with traktor timecodes and guess what. When the normal speed to a track was + -1 for example a track that is 122 bpm with timecodes appeared 121,98 or 121,99 at 33rpm something like that which is normal.
    Now the speed is not as stable as was. I mean that now goes + - 0,05 and is not so accurate that is was before and when i go to 45 rpm it goes + - 0,15. This happens to both turntables. I tried to measure the frequency i put it to hz measurement but it doesn't count. I changed 2 multimeters with hz option. Nothing! I tried to adjust the VR 301 manually according to the dots but the speed is not stable as it was. I am going crazy really because I spent too much money. Can you help me please?

      In this video, I replaced the faders. It sounds like your faders might be worn out. There's always the possibility that you cleaned the faders a bit too aggressively and wore out what last bit of life they had left in them. It happens. A new pair of faders isn't unreasonably expensive depending on where you buy from - just be sure you're buying something of quality that will last (this is not necessarily correlated with price, by the way). I bought mine from 1200s.com but there are likely many more outfits where you can buy them.

      You need to adjust one of the potentiometers in the pitch fader assembly /and/ one of the potentiometers underneath the platter. If you watch the video you'll see how to do this and what readings you need to get.

      The MK5 VR302 pitch fader assembly needs to be set 2,875 ± 0.25 kQ.

    What did you use to adjust the potentiometer? Can't see it at all in the video and you did not explain. Thanks in advance!

    • @djdoop596
      @djdoop596  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The potentiometers can be adjusted using a small Phillips screwdriver. There's a plus-shaped hole in the center or on top to fit the screwdriver.

    In my deck +6% matches, also +3.3% is ok but -3.3% is at about 2.2% of the slider scale. No Idea how to fix it, this tutorial stops at testing +6%

      Without a detailed description of the problem it's hard to say what's causing it, but my first guess would be that the spindle needs to be replaced.

    NEXT, I FORGOT TO BANG THE CENTER SPINDLE FOR EASY REMOVAL OF THE PLATTER. I'LL KEEP THAT IN MIND NEXT TIME I NEED TO REMOVE THE PLATTER...

    • @djdoop596
      @djdoop596  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what you mean by "bang the center spindle" but you definitely do NOT want to hit the spindle. You risk damaging it if doing that. Just firmly pull the platter straight upwards.

    NEXT TIME I WILL ACTUALLY USE A BETTER SCREW DRIVER TIP, ONE THAT WILL FIT SNUGGED IN THE SCREW. WE DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE THE SCREWS. DON'T WE ?

    • @djdoop596
      @djdoop596  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. Damage the screws and you may never be able to unscrew them again.
