So I filmed it so y'all could learn how to paint your Bible covers too! You can paint your normal Bible OR paint your Bible journaling Bible - totally up to you!

I painted an older hardcover Bible several months ago. I ended up redoing it because even with primer, it was chipping. I sanded the paint off with a sanding block to give it some tooth, reapplied the gesso, and repainted. It's holding up much better now. The newer Bible I painted after that needed much more sanding to remove the glossy finish.

will this work w a bible that isn’t hard cover ?
I made 2 homeless care packages today, one for a woman and one for a man. The main difference were the socks and the deodorants. I couldn't find gender neutral deodorants. I found a really good list, but I can't find it again. One thing they said was not to add crunchy or sticky foods because homeless people sometimes have poor dental hygiene and can not get to the dentist. Pudding is good, and soup with a flip open thing (no can opener). I added a few bills so they could ride the bus and get somewhere. And I'm adding addresses and phone numbers to places that can help. I'm not going to pass them out on the street, but I will take them to the food pantry I volunteer for. I went to Dollar Tree and Kroger. Lotion is good to add. And they don't need shampoo because where ever they find a shower also has shampoo. Wet wipes are also good. And tooth brush and toothpaste.

yea me too I did somewhat similar you do have to be careful a lot of homeless ppl don't want help I was shocked when I first heard this not all but there are some homeless ppl that con a lot of ppl cause they don't want to pay taxes and which I am sorry God bless them still but some ppl can make up to 2 000 a day conning ppl maybe even more than that its a shame but that is awesome you are doing that keep it up be careful the more you hang around the homeless you will discern which ppl that want to accept the help that want to get off the street and stuff and its sad when it comes down to it you will see the cons then you will see the ppl who don't care and don't want to work my mom and sister are homeless in texas and I offered to take them in but they don't want to move to cali so they stay at a shelter there and the shelter is charging homeless ppl to stay there for each veteran the shelter at salvation army house they make 1500 dollars per person on top of charging the ppl 10 dollars a day as well and on top of that the salvation army food supply is from like businesses that are about to throw away and they give to the shelter its disgusting I wish I can take my stand against this guy oh not to mention he makes 400,000 dollars and complains he doesn't have enough and calls himself a Christian it makes me sick

I fed a homeless family a big meal in Gainesville and in Jacksonville I met young boy who was homeless we gave him clothes and 15 dollars an we still continue to pray for everyone in our community
My bible does not have a hard cover can I still do It?

Yes I did! God called me to give someone my bible on outreach, and so now I have a new one. :)

I'm not sure why you would want to paint your Scriptures. What is the point of doing this?
Worshipping God through art. Using art to feel closer to God by decorating His word with something that your own hands have created. Wanting to personalise something that means a lot to you. Those are off the top of my head but I'm sure there's many other points to doing it

Sabers Can't using a canvas suffice? To me it just seems a little too casual. God's Word is no joke. Guess I just prefer to be a little more reverent. In this day and age in our culture where the Word is treated too lightly, I'm just concerned about maintaining holiness.There's alot of kookiness going on in the body of Christ these past few years and it concerns me. No insult meant. 😊

I need some advice :/ Im a faithful person, and my family isn’t, especially my dad because he had a not-so-good experience at church when he was young, but I really want to go to church and youth group. I’ve asked my mom if I could go so, so many times and she’s said yes, and that she’d bring me and see if I like it. Even though shd sad yes, I’ve been asking since for 7 years and she still hasn’t. When I confronted her about it, she told me it’s because she doesn’t want me to learn ‘bad things’ (such as lgbt opinions) and my dad has said that I ‘don’t need to go to church to have a relationship with God’. Yes, I consider myself Christian, but I see that church is such a big part of many Christian’s lives, and I feel like I’m missing out on something. My best friend recently had her first communion and really likes church, and my half sister whos 18 goes to church with her mom. God’s a big part of my life and I’m getting frusterated because I don’t know what to say to them anymore.
Edit: All this advice I’m getting is amazing! I will definitely take it all to heart and I wanted to thank everyone who’s given me advice! It’s 100% inspired me more, and will make me a better person overall!
Maddie First of all, I’m sorry to hear about this struggle. I will definitely keep you in my prayers and hope that you are able to grow in your relationship with God because it’s the most important relationship you’ll ever need. Let me tell you what I would do in your situation and hopefully it will help. So, if I was in your situation the first thing I would do is begin to pray about it which I’m guessing you’re doing already and if you’re not then that’s where I’d start. Once you’ve done that if nothing has changed and they still don’t want to take you to church, since you have friends that go to church and they love going to church, maybe you could ask them to pick you up and you could go together. If that doesn’t work, if you know what church you want to go to then you could try calling the church and maybe making some sort of arrangement to get there. I hope that helps. Hopefully you can get to church somehow. The biggest thing is to trust God because he knows what he’s doing and he knows what’s best for you. God bless!

Wow, I am really sorry about the situation you are in. You got some really great advice already. Another thing you can do for starters is to watch live stream of churches online. One church I can suggest is Elevation Church. They live stream directly to TH-cam three times on Sundays. God Bless You!

Hi i loved the video! Yet if anyone could hear me out, I am going through the some rough situation. I rly want to join a Church but my family, even if they are from another religion, they are nonreligious. I confessed yesterday I wanted to change to Christianity and they even said they felt disappointed of me and that they felt like they "lost" me. I thought that they would have taken it more lightly bc of not practicing so much their religion. To my surprise, they said they would not take me to church any time soon and that they need time to cope with the new revelation. Please pray for me I am tired of not having a community of other believers. I don't think I have ever met another Christian in person. God bless you all in Jesus' name❤
