    Hi there, a quick question please. Where is the cmos battery located on the motherboard? I can't seem to find it.

    Great video, thanks. Came here just to see the internals, if it's a dual or single fan and heat pipe setup.

    Would you like to give tutorial how to disassembly ASUS ROG GL503VS (Fan, heatsink, thermal paste, etc. ) Please?

    Thanks for this video. I need one piece of clarification though. In all seriousness (I've never disassemble a modern gaming laptop) where is "C drive" located? Is a hard drive or SSD? I keep hearing some rattling from the inside of my hero edition (GL503G) pc and I thought it could have been the C drive just starting to die but I don't see anything else that looks like a drive other than the one through the access panel.
    Could it be the fans rattling that I'm hearing?

    Great Video but why is it so hard to find motherboard schematics for this laptop! 😂 I replaced the screen done a stupid and I’ve
    Lost the backlight and I can’t pinpoint the fuse you got any tips?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No fuses.... if your cable is securely connected then you may have exposed the backlight circuit to static electricity.

    if u remove the fan, do you need to reapply the thermal paste? thanks

    Is that last bit of red removable? In case you want to change it to a different color or something? What kind of material is it made out of?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything is removable if you're motivated enough :) It is plastic, so you could theoretically pop it off and use some other color of translucent plastic behind it.

    Hey, I took the back off my laptop but didn't disconnect the battery. Now it's not booting up and there's no lights showing at all, just dead. Do you know why this has happened? Thanks man

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you didn't disconnect your power button, DC jack, or battery then it may be you touched your motherboard with some static electricity and borked it. Check and make sure those are all connected & your AC adapter works, if all ok you may have a bad motherboard.

    My display backlight of this particular model is not working can I replace just the backlight or do I have to change the entire display ?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you need a whole new screen. Luckily on this model it looks like you can just remove the two bezel screws and pop off the bezel, then you have easy access to the screen screws and video cable connection.

    So i can't replace the keyboard? I have this same model but my keyboard either died or i have a capacitor issue. I've been looking for videos on keyboard removal but nothing until i came across this video

      Unfortunately they use melted plastic rivets to hold the backing plate in place, to save weight and assembly costs. The palmrest assembly will have to be replaced whole.

    Not gonna lie i took 7 screws off because of a suspicious noise on the right side fan, but then said 'fk it' half way through and put the screws back in. The noise was gone whan I rebooted. Good signal or not, only time will tell.

    hello, my gl503ge i5 8300h version cpu fan just got broken & spare fans are not available in my country, what should i do?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both fans should separate from your assembly with just a few small phillips screws. Once you remove the offending fan, see if you can find the part number on it, may be a sticker or stamped into the metal. You should be able to find one on eBay, maybe from a different model. It's rare a fan would only go on one model. Just make sure it looks the same and has the same amount of connector pins. Otherwise I would try contacting Asus directly and see if they can help you find one. Good luck!

    can the fan part be disassembled to be cleaned?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there are tiny phillips screws holding the two halves together. You can use a brush and some canned air to clean it though, no disassembly required.

    thank you from an Indonesian here. well, I was just going to replace the keyboard. nothing's broken. just thinking it might have been a good idea to replace the original keyboard with the replacement bought online (I suspect it's not original though the seller said so) because I don't want the original keyword to break due to frequent use of gaming. but it appears that they keyword is irreplaceable. that's really helpful information. Otherwise, it would have been my biggest regret ever. So, I think I'd better use the keyword til it's broken or use extension gaming keyboard. thanks again bro. keep it up.
