Lived here 62 of my 66 years. Wouldn't live in KC but have lived in Lee's Summit all that time. Many changes. Crime is on the rise migrating out of KC to the 'burbs. Schools are great in the burbs, I think the KCMO schools are still unaccredited but could be wrong. I think families would be happier here then singles. There are a lot of nice parks and tons of historical things to see. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, it suits me. one other thing, I don't like the city politics at all.
Thanks for sharing! First of all, I am glad you like where you live. I think a lot of places seem to be like this right now. I am from the Portland metro area and it used to be just Portland was crazy, but Suburbs are starting to take on some of there problems too. What suburbs would you recommend someone consider if they wanted to move to KC?
@@BrothaontheGo Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raymore, Belton are good. I would stay away from Raytown, Independence, Grandview. Crime rates are much higher and public schools not highly rated.
That’s great info. Thank you for sharing! I actually really want to visit the KC area. I am a huge sports fan and love the culture of supporting the local teams. Also, I really want to eat the BBQ. What do you think of the people of KC in general?
@@BrothaontheGo People have changed a lot over the years. I believe most of us are friendly, helpful and hardworking. We really love our sports teams and particularly our Chiefs. They are working hard to revitalize the downtown KC area. They are trying to appeal to the younger crowds. My parents and grandparents were born and raised in Chicago and I thought I would love to live there. When I was in my late 30's I visited and found Chicagoans to be unfriendly and really cold. I was in downtown looking up at the Sears Tower and so excited. People looked at me like a rube from the sticks. I was shocked. People aren't like that here. We are good neighbors and respectful of each other and if someone needs our help we help them. Just a couple of weeks ago on the way to work he got stuck on ice and 3 police cars showed up and helped him! This was 6 am! I was impressed. I think our Midwestern values here in fly over country are good as are our neighbors. This is home for all of it's warts and I am thankful to be here.
I've lived in kc my whole life and I think people are incredibly rude here. I had to travel elsewhere to discover people that actually treat me like a human being
