My wife and I started a world specifically for ashlands and we used your longhouse build for our main home, given how well its been serving us I think we'll have to add this to our village!
I found your channel via the Shorts of your little storage house. That was a brilliant way to advertise your channel. Easy sub from me - 1) for your build brain, 2) for your excellent tutorial /editing style, and 3) for your accent.
awesome video man, absolutely planning on building this, i really appreciate you showing us how you decorated the inside as well, al lot of builds just show the exterior and i dont have a creative mind at all, so i really appreciate all the effort you put into these vids, keep up the great work and super excited to see the next video !😁
I am glad you like it. I used to really struggle with the interior design until I found my own style. It helps having plenty of practise too! Thanks for your comment.
Fantastic build and great tutorial! Even my potato building skills managed to copy your design, though the gralston beams were a bit problematic at times! Looking forward to checking out your other builds and having a go :)
I really appreciate your support! I actually had something similar prepared before the Ashlands update was released into the public test branch. So, I had to make some adjustments to accommodate the new building components and upgrades!
Very nice build and now am thinking of making this build in one of the server am in once we get to ashlands. But a thing to be pointed out you forgot to add a bench(I will personally prefer stool which can be made for a more decorative piece with multiple of them in a row) which will max out the comfort at 17 and you had 16 comfort
I am really glad you like the build! The throne actually covers the same comfort type as the bench. The item I forgot in this build was a banner. The curtains do not contribute towards the banner comfort point. I completely forgot about this during the build guide.
Nice build Phinqs, but there isn't a place for grilling meat. I built this and I'm using it. It's not too big, not too small, doesn't use a ton of resources. I like the transitions between areas and the use of Grausten, Ashwood, Darkwood and starter mats plus TONS of storage. Love the Skelly in the center of the room. I'll make a covered cook station outside. Great job as always.
Can you not just place a few cooking stations between the cauldron and fermenters? I think I did this previously but I must have forgot to include it when building for this video. I am glad you like it. Thanks a lot for your support!
Thank you. I am really glad you like it. It would be cool to see your changes. You can share screenshots in my Discord server, if you feel like joining!
You could definitely fit in two more single beds. You only need a dragon bed in the area for the comfort bonus so as long as you do not mind how it looks then it should be fine!
Good question. You can find asksvin skeletons around the ashlands biome which give different parts of the skeleton as loot when destroyed. There are four pieces in total which are required to build the skeleton: skull, neck, ribcage, and pelvis. I hope this helps!
I love your videos & builds. I've used a few already and plan on replicating this one as well, but just wanted to ask about the comfort. I think you're missing something for max comfort. You are only reaching 16 comfort but the max is 17 (19 with seasonal items.) I'm not sure what's missing though and wanted to ask if you know what it is?
I am really glad you liked the build. Regarding the comfort level, I used the jute curtains rather than banners whilst recreating the build for this guide. To achieve the missing comfort level, make sure you are using a banner instead! Thank you for your comment and pointing out my mistake! Hopefully, this comment will help others wondering the same thing.
Could you make a new and improved farm build. like for lox, wolves, etc with gardens or something i seen your last build but it wasnt big enough for lox
You will unlock the recipe by destroying asksvin skeletons in the Ashlands! You need to collect four individual pieces to craft it (along with bone fragments): neck, pelvis, rib cage, and skull!
Good question. I don’t know exactly how much materials it would cost. However, I do know that it is pretty easy to make with stone as I actually built it with stone first and then changed it to grausten!
@@phinqs quick question, if i was doing stone should i just replace all the grausten structures with stone? or should i mix with wood at some parts? this is the first time ive really built smth in this game so im not very familiar with the building system or how things look together. also, is there no stone 1x1? should i just use 1x1 walls where u use the grausten 1x1s? same issue with the pillars, appears theres only 2 high pillars and no tapered pillars so how would u go about that? i am also struggling with the arches now, the stone arches look really weird, what did u use?
@@purpleguy3924 I think as long as the internal footprint stays the same, you can just build stone around the outside. The roof size will probably change slightly but that is ok. For internal pillars, I would stack the stone wall 1x1 rather than use the actual pillars. You can probably run a wooden beam along the top of the internal columns if you don't like how the stone arches look - either option will be enough to support the roof. You should join my Discord server, it is easier to catch me there.
I am glad you like it. If I was going to build a basement, I would move the black forge to the centre of the room and remove the asksvin skeleton, and place stairs under the existing stairs which takes you to the basement.
I would recommend joining my Discord server. You can share screenshots and I can try to help resolve the issue. Without seeing what section you are referring to, I would recommend double checking, or modifying, the grausten beam components around the top of the grausten walls. The beam snapping points can easy make or break a build. I hope this helps!
I found your dock video and (not knowing its size) thought I would upscale it for the new ashlands ship. jesus christ that thing need the whole width of it JUST for the gap to hold the ship I need someone to make something on how to house that whale
Good question. It is just a personal preference. I like how the reinforced chests look. They store slightly less than black metal chests but I do not mind. You can substitute the reinforced chests for black metal chests, if you like!

The new Ashwood black trim around the storage looks so clean!
Agreed! It is almost strange to have a building component so perfect in this game.

Usually, yes. However, the way I have configured the cage stops any of the area damage from affecting the nearby structure.
