Your AIM-9Es having a different missile lock reticle is because the seeker is uncaged, meaning it can search a larger area (the larger circle) to lock a target while still on the missile pylon on your aircraft. So new video, more progression!!! F-5E - Excellent dogfighter. Only has two missiles, but they’re reliable for its BR. F-4C - Essentially a bus-big and sluggish but has workable missiles. Lacks flares but can be equipped with three gunpods (rotary cannons with a total of 3,600 rounds if you bring them all). Tip: always bring a gunpod on Phantoms without an internal cannon. F8U-2 - Arguably one of the best dogfighters at its BR. Equipped with good missiles (small reticle, so don’t let that throw you off). Has insane maneuverability-just be careful not to rip the wings, which can happen if you pull too many G’s too quickly. F-8E - Essentially an F8U-2, but with the AIM-9C (a radar-guided missile, despite being an AIM-9 variant) and an upgraded engine.

Great video, I would not recommend the F4C for your next research, I would go for the F-5E, as the F4C is like a flying bus with no flares, and pretty bad missles, on the other hand the F5E has great flight performance and decent missles and flares, but at the end of the day its your choice.
Yeah that’s why you shouldn’t research the f14c because it’s not in the game but there is a f16C it has flares really good missles and don’t research the f15E because it’s not in the game yet

F8u2 isn't that good anymore after br change , it's 10.3 now instead of 10.0 and F5c and couple of f4's moved down so uptiers more common . It was a cancerous plane anyway
The problem about WT progression is, if you unlocked certain vehicle but you don't have enough SL to own/buy it. Sure the RP gains faster than previous year (thanks to 5X RP booster), but SL gains is still hindrance without premium account or vehicles. with 2600 GE you can buy premium account 90 days while Talisman only affect on a single nation or only in air if u buy talisman in a single plane.
Yeah, about the f4c, you might be tempted since it's a phantom, but don't, it's just a free kill flying around, in downtiers it's workable but that's true for every other plane
Little tip you can press U to see your missile or rocket, this can help you learn what range to launch your missiles to see when they start falling off.
I just discovered your channel recently. It's nice to see a new player who's into air RB. I have been playing WT since early 2013 and I have to say that you are pretty talented at gunnery. I would like to recommend that playing F-100D until you get F4J and buy a tailsman for it or just by F4S when the 50% discount on pack premiums comes, save the silverlions for the top tier you want and its expert crew. F15C alone is like 1 million + basic crew 320k + expert crew around 1 million (dont remember exactly how much it is). Here are the reasons why not play others too often if you want to reach top tier faster. F3H at 9.0: AIM-7C just like AIM-9B are useless in most of cases, no countermeasures means someone with a decent IR missile on you six can kill you fair easily especially if you got uptiered (such as Yak-38 with R60s, AV-8 with AIM-9Gs, Mirage with Magic 1s) F8U at 10.3: four AIM-9Ds and 60 countermeasures, a very good gunfighter if you don't get uptiered, 9D is caged like 9B so it's kind of difficult to use in furball. F8E at 10.7:a good gunfighter with four AIM-9Ds or 9Cs and 60 countermeasures, AIM-9C is a SARH missile so it gives you all-aspect engagement capability but you don't have PD radar and 9C eats chaff, so it's useless in many cases since you can't look down shot down and your targets' RWR will let them know they are locked, they will drop some chaff and turn. F4C at 10.3: two hot engines with no countermeasure just a free kill for everyone, also AIM-7D is bad too. don't play it. F5E at 11.0: a very good gunfighter with two AIM-9Js and 30 countermeasures. BR is kind of high I would say, two AIM-9J doesn't mean much since flares are very common in this BR, and 30 countermeasures are not a lot. F4E at 11.3: four AIM-9J and four AIM-7E-2, decent IR missile and good SARH missiles that don't eat chaff (although AN/APQ-120 on F4E does eat chaff but it doesn't matter), the problem is that you still don't have a PD radar and Mig-23 with R-24R at 11.7, the bigger problem is that so many people bought Mig-23ML and F4S, so you are often pulled into 11.7 or 12.0 BR. Yes, F4J and F4S at 12.0 could face F16, F15, F14, Mig-29, Su27, but with a PD radar and AIM-7Fs you can fight back and this is the first fully BVR capable fighter. Tips for F-100D, plan you flight and engagement, stay fast since you don't have flares, stay away from A-10A and Su-25 at 10.3, they have AIM-9L and R60M all-aspect IR missiles.
amazing video man! also, the f3h demon on the naval line smacks. the f3h can carry up to 4 RADAR guided missiles, meaning that they can be used in head ons. you use them by locking someone with radar (the default keybind is control and f), then you fire it once the missile circle is red and there are 2 circles in the middle instead of 1. the way you know if you are locked is if there is a green square around the plane. although remember to stay locked, even after firing, or else the missile won't track. the f8u2 is known by the wt community to be be insanely good, as it has 2 aim 9 d(basically aim9e) and 2 aim9c(basically a radar guided aim 9 e). I agree that you should get a phantom, but wait for the f4e or f4j, as those have much better missiles that smack much harder than the f4c, and the f4e is right after the f4c. I know you love using guns, and the f4e has an internally mounted 20mm, but you can equip 3 other external miniguns that vaporize any plane. you know the f82 that has 14 50 cals? well, the f4e is the 10.0 equivalent. also, for the missiles I would recommend if the enemy is turning, make sure the inner circle is on the very edge of the circle, so the missile already has a lead so it won't have to turn as much. also, on a different note, do you know any videos on how to aim? I am trying to get into air realistic and I can't figure out how to aim without spraying my guns.
Love the series, really lets me understand how to grind the air tech trees in war thunder. I do have top tier in USA since i bought a premium, but i went back and played some lower jets. A small tip: do not go for F-4C, pick F8U-2, F-8E or F-5E. You need to get the F-4E tho, its a beast at its br.
small tip when firing missile on a manuvering target lead as you would with guns the missile has to pull less gs and there fore will hit easier. On a fast moving target it will be in the right direction already and will almost be a garunteed hit with the missile if the enemy doesnt see or flares to late.
Missiles usually have a g-limit and a fire aspect. early missiles have a G-limit of 10 and are rear aspect missiles... however some can get up to 15, 18, 20 or even 30G's (there are more with higher) And some can have an all aspect missiles that usually are more flarable or have a lower lock range from anything except rear aspect... however can be fired from any direction on an enemy plane, and radar missiles count as an all aspect btw. Edit: Radar missiles are just all aspect missiles that like ir missiles have a G-limit, they usually work best at higher altitudes or when aiming up at someone. Except for France with one early radar missile, America has the worst early radar missiles. the Sparrow D and C are dog and need very very special circumstances to work. Edit 2: Radar missiles (doesn't tell you stat card wise) Either has a scan mode of Pulse or CW, Pulse is extremely prone to chaff, CW however looks at the speed difference between itself and the target and is very hard to chaff without notching.
