This is definitely the best breakdown I’ve seen, but there’s still more to this song that you didn’t even mention, maybe for time consideration. Right from the beginning even, with the 6 minutes shady, you’re on (Doug E. Fresh)...along with the Captain America “And a Phoenix Shall Rise” references.
@@robey5021 There’s more to this than most people know, even to this day. If you ever wondered who was the main focus of the “punchlines, just in case,” that are “inadvertently hurting you,” ask me for a very long breakdown of who this dis track is about. I guarantee it’ll make you think about this song in a different light.
Whoever dislikes this breakdown is straight up stupid. Those would be the people who cant comprehend intelligent lyricism and breakdowns. Ur legit reactions are worth every second of a viewer’s time because u hardly miss any bars. Appreciate u taking the time to break these songs down and educate. Keep it up!

Haha thanks man and yeah that’s what I’m finding out lol I’m def going to focus on em and Lupe. Two dude are lyrically insane. Gotta make sure they stay monetized tho! Lol
I think you missed the “lead a new school full of students” line. Busta Rhymes was in a group called “Leaders Of The New School” before he became a huge solo rapper.
The best Rap God breakdown I've seen, thanks!!! I heard someone say that the line "it's actually disastrously bad for the wack" is a sub diss towards Canibus after the 2012 KOTD battle with Dizaster. What do you think? A reach, or no?
Love your videos man. When you were talking about listening to Em in the back of your dads car super low because he didn't want you listening to him, that got me laughing. When I was a kid my brother and I loved Eminem but our parents took away the Slim Shady LP and said we couldn't listen to it until they approved of it. Later that night we heard them in the living room listening to the CD and we could hear my mom cackling every now and then. They gave it back to us the nest day, and my Mom has been an Eminem fan ever since, even my Dad acknowledged that Em was a genius wordsmith.
Tiffany Fountain hahaha thanks for the compliment Tiffany. And yes! My mom was like your parents but my dad heard the content of the lyrics and was like heeeellllllllll noooo lolol
Also, "now I lead a new school full of students"....busta was part of the group leaders of the new school. It's a triple, not a double. Btw, the track you couldn't remember is patiently waiting.
Jay Green yeah and he has a song called shoot for the moon. So it’s really a quadruple lol And yeah someone told me in the live chat. I might do a reaction to patiently waiting lol
I keep coming back because your breakdowns are PhD level dissections of Em's verses. No one else digs as deep into each line and explores the breadth of Em's references. It's a masterclass every time. Thanks for doing such an amazing job!
Great breakdown. You amplify the greatness of the song. Got me sharing with excitement all your breakdowns to my wife and family. In an attempt to show how many layers of genius Em brings to any track. Thanks. Keep them coming.
BRO i knew rap god was a masterpiece by Em but damn after watching your breakdown, i realized i've been under appreciating this song for the 6 years!! Thank you for the amazing breakdown

You’re awesome man! Love ya content! I have not seen a single other youtuber with such deep analysis like literally every line. Please do these more frequently. Much love
Bro. Your breakdowns are legit. I am a new subscriber. I first found your channel when you discovered NF, but have since been going through your videos and enjoying every one of them.
Everything you said in this video is great. However, no one ever noticed the visuals. He starts with Max Hedrome, Pong, Mario Brothers, Rockin Sock'em Robots and and so many other references to rap greats in the background. As the years go on he starts going into The Matrix. You have the lyrics down, but the visuals tell a better story.
hey this is another meaning for the Busta Rhymes part, Busta back in the like early 90s was a part of the group "Leaders of the New School" some amazing shit figured id throw it in the comments since i didnt see anyone else drop this little delicious gem on ya lol

OMG DUDE!!! That Super Sonic reference did go over my head. Thank you for the clarification dude word. I remember listening to Super Sonic in popping battles back in the day lol

Great job bro... if you don't mind, I'd like to make some suggestions for possible future breakdowns... top 3 most underrated Eminen songs for me: Legacy, Headlights and Castle, honorable mention for 'Beautiful'.. Legacy because it's such and inspiring song and he rhymes almost the whole song to the same sound. If you're gonna do 'Headlights' you would have to do 'Cleaning out my closet' first because they go hand-and-hand. And 'Castle' should be followed by 'Arose'. Keep up the good work.
Ready or not, here it comes... Wow, I am anticipating this breakdown Bro-tato. Ernest is by far the most knowledgeable Eminem breakdown/reactor on TH-cam! Maybe he'll grant me my wish for a breakdown of DEADWRONG W/Biggie & ANYMAN from Soundbombing 2! They just don't know, but I know, you can do it. Peace Out.
it was also a shot to Canibus when he says HERE IS A MAXI PAD that was a reference to the battle between Canibus and Dizaster where Canibus requested for his notebook to check rhymes. it was disastrously bad
I read somewhere, prob genius, that the “maxi pad/dizastrously bad” line was in reference to the KOTD battle between Cannibus and Dizaster where Cannibus choked and had to pull out a notepad, it was really uncomfortable to watch or “dizastrously bad”. Would you recap a battle on here? If so, Iron Solomon vs. Dizaster was insane.
Rap God was also put in the Guinness world record for most words in a hit song. 1560 words. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it or maybe I missed it somewhere.
Wow man I always thought that summa lumma dooma llama line was just filler to keep up with the rhyme scheme but nope it actually has a meaning behind it. Incredible

I just had to add, the opening with: 6 minutes slim shady you're on is a call back to the song "remember me" from the MMLP where it has a voice that says the same thing! That is dope AF!! LOVE THIS SONG! Incredible reaction Ernesto!! 🔥🔥🔥❤
“it’s actually Disastrously (Diazster) bad” He’s actually referencing the battle between Canibus and Dizaster in which Canibus lost and pulled out a notepad. Another note: In the video when he says that, one of the screens show a rap battle.

This is the second video of yours I've seen (first was Godzilla) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you cover the meanings of things from a perspective of a rapper and rap history AS WELL as the highbrow educated references. If Em weren't a rapper, he could have written for Futurama and blown those Harvard folks minds (for a silly cartoon, definitely Em's speed of humor and silly while still smart).
Oh never caught the second meaning to walk a flock of flames of a plank. Just thought about the rapper Everytime. Great catch my man, your rap knowledge is on point.
One thing that I've always thought after hearing the ending as it was around the same time when Big Sean released the control verse, was when Kendrick Lamar says he's the king of New York King of the coast, one hand I juggle them both, so it was a very subtle response to that saying what's a king to a God, great breakdown though! Never got the reference to supersonic either even years after hearing the song
I know this is older, but I also wanted to point out that at the very beginning the "6 minutes Slim Shady you're on" was a reference to one of his earlier songs Remember Me where he is challenged to not use the F word for 6 minutes
I love your reactions but you brought out a gun and were safe with it. I love that! The lack of knowledge that people have but still own guns is scary! I can't wait for more NF by the way!
Dude amazing break down. I’d like to add that general Zod is not the god of krypton, he was just a military leader sent to earth to retrieve Superman (in certain incarnations). The god of the DC universe is the presence. But also Kryptonians are often compared to gods, it’s pretty evident on runs like the injustice series. Or even compared to the pinnacle of human’s in the words of lex Luther. The line itself most likely comes from Superman 2 (1980) where Zod tells the president of the United States to “kneel before general Zod.” Because he thinks he’s the ruler of earth, basically trying to make the whole world kneel before him.
How to properly breakdown a rap: pulls out gun

@Harveer Bhinder how he took his gun out in the video
Me lembrou R Kelly no South Park "Ton was close in the closeeet, and I pull up my gun" hahhaha

I’ve noticed a lot of metal heads like this song because of the aggressiveness and yes there’s a lot to unpack lyrically here lol
Thank you for this breakdown!! You are awesome!!
Mariel Bostera you’re welcome and thanks for watching!
MIXTAPE LUPE FOR THE WIN. This is an excellent video coverage of this song. I consider Rap God one of Eminem's best songs even if it's a recent one.
Props to u man.... u do an awesome job man.....keep it up
