  • In this video we see some trams and buses at the Casino East / Queens Bridge Street tram stop (also known as Casino/Southbank), a tram stop located on route 58 located just south of the Melbourne CBD. As the name suggests it primarily serves Crown Casino. Here we see Z3, B2 and D1 (Siemens Combino) class trams.
Rebuilt into modern superstop standards in May 2015, the tram stop at first glance looks like any other. However it has a unique feature; it's also used by buses! It's the only platform tram stop in Melbourne to also be used by buses. It's mostly used by several Transdev routes including the 216, 219, 220, 234 and the 236, and the 605 operated by CDC Melbourne. However at the time of uploading this video routes 216, 219 & 220 temporarily aren't serving the stop due to long term roadworks on St Kilda Road and Southbank Boulevard.
At the time of filming this video Transdev were leasing buses from other operators due to fleet shortages. As a result we see buses from Dysons, McHarry's, SITA Bus Lines, and Kastoria.
    Date: 28th September 2017.
