Can we take a minute to appreciate his parents? It’s so amazing how hard they’re trying. It really warms my heart.
REAL!!! it reminds me of when i first came out and my mom and sister would still call me "she" on accident but after a few months after me correcting them all the time they would usually use "they" my mom still slips from time to time but she always quickly corrects herself :3
When I first saw his parents I was like oh no are they going to be transphobic!? I was SO relieved when I found out his parents were accepting of him! I wish all trans children had accepting parents. That truly makes a difference.

I go by Eli and this hurt as no one accepts me and my parents are religious nondenominational and they think my whole being is sinful and that I’m going to hell to a point where my mom said I could kill myself. It makes me happy seeing how others are accepted but makes me really sad like what did I do to have the parents I have

Gods overarching message is really just to Love Thy Neighbor, so it isn’t a sin. Even if it somehow was, Jesus was also against judging others for their sins (again, being trans is not a sin, this is just a supplementary point) so the logic your parents follow make sense either way. There will always be an online community here for you and your friends as well. You’re valid ❤
I'm trans and I go by Casper but I'm also a Christian and so are my parents. They've made it clear that they are trans phobic and homophobic so I don't know if we share the same amount of pain but I'm going through something similar. I don't know a lot about you (obviously haha) but I fully support you and I really hope you're safer now or in the future

this is very true but i think the film takes into account that hes really early in the transition, hence parents slipping up, so hes still letting go of how when youre raised a girl youre told to take the high road and not stand up to people or be confrontational. frankly i related to that and it was super hard to even correct people.
