A work colleague recently in front of another gay colleague who had just joined the organisation that I was 'Gay friendly'. It is in part thanks to a friend's dau, who is bi, who advised me to watch these videos a few years ago... I've learnt so much and tried to repel my old (parental prejudices). But I ve still got so much to if not learn to appreciate...
Simon comforting him right after the mom slapped him made my heart melt... I wish I had a supportive figure like him to help me through my struggles with gender identity too.
And loads of love to you!! Know that I support you and I'm here if you need to speak to anyone(I can give you my contact info if you want, just say) Remember that you're feelings are totally valid
Genuinely made me cry. You can tell the mom cares, she just isn't educated about all of it, and it scares her to think that her baby might be going through something horrible mentally. She doesn't handle it the best way first, but at the end she grows. She hears the truth from Simon, realizes her mistake, and shows that she is going to try and accept her new son for who he is. She was right, he's not her Emilie anymore. But he's still her child.
since this video is a trans film, here's some binding tips for my fellow trans babies out there wanting to bind! -make sure your binder is the right size. NOT TOO SMALL. if it is too small, it may compress too tight and can damage your ribs rlly bad. -dont wear it for more than 8-10 hours at the most. it can be very dangerous if worn for longer -DO NOT WEAR ONE WHILE SLEEPING. your breathing while sleeping is different from when you're awake, and it can possibly strangle you. -if you don't have a binder but are wanting to bind, DO NOT use bandages. it is EXTREMELY dangerous. instead, use two sports bras THAT FIT YOU and then put a big shirt on over top of them! stay safe!! ❤️❤️❤️
I have a question, and I’m hoping it doesn’t sound really stupid. I’ve never had a binder before and may get one in the future, how do I know if it’s too small?
I have an older brother, 7 years older than me but ever since i was like 4, he was the worst brother ever. He hasen't changed for the better in 10 years. If you have a decent sibling, you are amazingly lucky. 😊😔

This movie was my awakening as a trans man in 2019. Now, I am away from my unsupportive family, have found my own family which loves me and supports me as who I am. Started HRT and getting top surgery in the next coming months. This movie gave me strength to stand up for myself and be myself. It's been 6 years since I came out 🏳️⚧️

this was amazing 🥺 i'm not trans but i'm trying to understand what trans ppl have to go through... when Emil's mother asked for Simon's tie I thought she was going to beat him
I did, and I think Simon did too. I think that the only reason Simon gave it to her, was because he knew that if she started hitting him, he was strong enough to protect him.
I haven't seen people commenting about this, but it should be adressed: If you bind, please don't do it like it's done at 2:50 it's unsafe. Get yourself a binder, keep it dry when wearing it (I don't know that much about washing a binder, so I can't give advice on that), don't exercise wearing your binder and wear it for about 8-10 hours max. Stay safe and remember that you are loved
I always feel so so happy when i see a parent supporting their trans kids, there should be more people like you in the world. As a trans kid thank you for supporting when alot of the world doesnt
DO NOT BIND WITH BANDAGES!!! Bind safely and NEVER EVER bind with bandages or a binder/bra or something too tight. You don’t want broken ribs or to hurt yourself. Seeing that part made me cry because it’s so sad that they couldn’t get what they needed! I hope the best for everyone reading this! I love you ❤️ Be safe!
I see this comment pretty much on every video/film which shows this ... keep in mind this is not a how to, but often shown in the context of people exploring gender affirmation and not having access to all possibilities. I've had the chance to do this with someone I was dating (almost 15 years ago) together with a transmasc friend and it was amazing to see them glow up - being fully aware that this is a temporary step (for ~6 hours) and an attempt. Said person has come out as transmasc since then and has had his top surgery.
no one has every been as nice as simon was nice to her. my friends when I am upset they just either stand awkwardly and pat my back, or just be like there there and walk away. my family don't care
To anyone watching please PLEASE never bind with bandages. I know dysphoria really sucks but broken ribs are worse. WEARING TWO (but no more than two) SPORTS BRAS HELPS AND AN OVERSIZED SHIRT. Stay safe, please eat or drink something, have a great day/night and remember you are loved
Thank you so much! I am not transgender, in fact, a demi-girl, but I'm also not that happy with my breast. So, thanks for giving me tips on how to make them "vanish" or at least seem like they did.

I love the representation of the supportive older brother. I'm a trans man and If I didn't have my older brother's support against my mom's bs I wouldn't still be here. To all the accepting cis siblings: Thank you for seeing us for who we really are. And loving us even when it's hard for us to love ourselves
Thank you all so much for all love and support! Even though some comments come out with an opinion I don't agree with, it's amazing that this has started a discussion about the topic. The whole crew behind is so honored by your kind words. We can make the world a better place together
The Gazelle Entertainment understand most who use ace either are uneducated about the dangers or are unable to use binders due to an unaccepting family or friends. In this instance it is the more likely the latter.
I remember watching this when i was like 10 and I didn't understand a DaMn thing, I just remembered that the girl turned into a boy and I got happy- Now I feel so happy watching this again after years
exactly I got so giddy watching this while I still thought I was a girl. only about about a year ago I found out that I was trans and rewatching this really affected me.
@Teran Poka well I'm sorry to not be up to your standards but I don't really care, I wasn't "brainwashed" and if you're a transphobe please kindly fuck off
Just a reminder. Please please please PLEASE never bind with ace bandages. It could harm you and damage your body. 💕💕 Edit: awww thanks for the likes on this comment!!!! Glad to see others staying safe and not putting themselves in a harmful situation!!!

If you're planning on being a parent, please be ready to be a parent of a trans child, a gay child, a child with a different religion, a child with mental health issues, a disabled child. If you aren't prepared for that, save yourself the grief of another life lost. It's okay if you aren't ready, but please be considerate of the child you are planning on having and know that they are a person too. Thank you.
+Sylvester Fernandez if you're gonna have a child just to disown it and mess them up for life, don't bother having the kid. Unless you're carrying for a couple that can't.
+Lacey Debock lmao I'm really not, it shouldn't be saint like for doing the least you can do as a parent. It's sad when people are so amazed by parents doing their job.
when this video first came out, i was a young trans boy strggling with heavy dysphoria. 8 years later and it's been a long journey. Not everyone I care about felt the same way about me, and I lost friends, family, and faced a lot of hatred from the world. I am so much happier now, having been on T for years, getting surgeries scheduled, carrying myself through college, working with mentors and looking to keep fighting for my dreams. It can happen. Things may not be perfect, and things might not even get easier, but you can be happy, and finding value in yourself is certainly worth it :)
Well, I don't speak English very well but, at 8:20, the mother calls Simon ''honey'' and if i'm not mistaken, this word is used for husband and wife in general, that's why I think Simon might be Emilie's father or stepfather.
I have a friend that is currently transitioning and saving up for surgery and I can’t say in words how proud and happy I am to see that he isn’t struggling with his self image anymore. I love him dearly, and to have that change from crying and hurting himself because he hated his body parts and how looking at himself made him feel to embracing his style and being so much more outgoing and actually feelings comfortable going outside with his friends has been a joy to witness. This Mini Movie is a really well done representation of anger within oneself, frustration from being ignored or “covered” for, finding acceptance, and overall freedom due to the outcome. Comment section is also so sweet and supportive ❤️
Watched this 6 years ago. I’m 25 now and I know I’m not trans. Been thru this sort of turmoil and it was the shittiest time of my life, but in the end I figured out that I didn’t need anyone’s acceptance except my own. Tl;dr I came out as gay / tomboy. Good luck to everyone out there still questioning their identity. One day you’ll have your answer.
Nope, we know very little about their overall relationship to say this is true. Yes, she was behaving like one in the part we saw, but that doesn't mean she's bad. Parents are human just as kids and just as kids need to come to term with their identity, so does their parents. Some people just know from their childhood they are straight, gay, cis, trans, ace etc. and they have no prob with that, some have to "find" themselves and come to terms with it, some will try to suppres themselves and to make themselves "normal". And the same is true about parents - some can accept their kid no matter what, some struggle but in the end they accept it, and some just throw their own kids overboard, 'cause they are not like they want them.
Somebody actually yes but trans youth could be watching this and with no other info could think that's a safe way to bind and really injure themselves. On an irrelevant note, when i got the notif for your reply it said "somebody actually replied" and i thought ok youtube no need to get sassy

Thank you.

when this video first came out, i was a young trans boy strggling with heavy dysphoria.

Good luck to everyone out there still questioning their identity. One day you’ll have your answer.
Sorry to hear you had a horrible time, but you've indeed figured it out - all the best.
Mom: am I a bad mother?
Simon: yes

*yesyes*
yes yes yes
