- Notre Dame went on the road and beat NC State by a 45-24 score. It was a back and forth affair for awhile but the Irish poured it on in the fourth quarter.

I talked to Esteems dad for a long time last year before the BC game, fascinating story to me. It seemed like his dad didn’t really want him to come to ND but estimate fell in love with the place. Glad he did what an amazing back we have.

Was curious about the last time if ever the Irish started off with 3 42+ point games! Went back to 1940 and Notre Dame hasn't done it. Had some fast starts under Leahy especially in 44. Holtz teams had some stretches of 40 point games but never to start a season.

Big teast for a young coach playing sloppy and an hour and a half delay keeps the guys locked in and get a big win. Wasn’t it Kelly’s second year we lost that game to a bad south Florida team in a lightning delay game on a weird day.

Do you think the outcome remains the same if the weather delay doesn’t happen? The way it started it seemed like it was shaping up to be a close hard fought game, which I thought ND would still win in the end. When the delay happened I went to pick up my car from the shop and I thought the delay is going to be detrimental to NC State especially since they and the stadium had so much energy.
SC only put up 14 on Stanford, ND better stomp them at home this year.

You're mis-remembering my man. I've been saying all summer I thought he would have a good season. Said he was overrated coming out (he was) but he's being underrated now and said people expected too much of him last year.
