    TB proved to be a warrior! Pisses me off how people spew the BS towards him. Don’t know if he’s the guy moving forward, but he showed out and left everything on the field!
    Sorry for the tirade, but the guy played his heart out. Let him have his moment and let’s enjoy this W.

    Correction. He was responsible for SEVEN touchdowns... but 14 of those points were put on the board for the other team. He passed for over 150 yards TO THE OTHER TEAM. Sure, he made some nice plays but also almost played them out of the game. He has tremendous potential but ND can't get that kind of wildly inconsistent play and contend for a national title. Hartman is the way and the bridge to possibly developing Buchner, then getting to Minchey and Carr.

      Yall being for real right now? How about some actual time "playing QB" while being healthy... then let's talk. This guy had missed so much time... he's basically a true freshman as far as physically playing in games. This guy has it. Great comments by Shaun on Tyler. Showed the promise Notre Dame had in him and more the toughness that Marcus Freeman wants to be a hallmark of his program. Coach Holtz always preached about responding to adversity was what a Champion does. Tyler Buchner epitomized that today. You can win with Tyler. Kid has big upside and maximizes offense capabilities Accounting for 5 TDs (7😊?) after 3 months out is pretty good. He plays “ all out” but may have to try and rein some of that in to survive 12-14 games! Maybe a year “ working with” a Sam Hartman would be helpful then 2 years as a Starter ? That was Joe Theisman career arc as backed up Terry Hanratty first year. Worked pretty well there

    Some people will be negative no matter what. I love Hartman. Glad he's coming to ND, but Tyler Buchner showed the entire country why Irish Breakdown and many of us were high on him. He finally hit his stride and showed those flashes. I've been as critical as anyone of Tommy Rees. But that dude called a GREAT game excluding 1 play.

  • @terryfox9344
    @terryfox9344 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am very pleased with the win for ND. However, I believe that you are WAY too harsh on the Buchner critics. I understand that anyone that is responsible for 7 TDs is likely to have the media's vote for MVP. However, 2 of those touchdowns were scored for South Carolina. I also understand that our opponent was well-coached and wanted to win the game, so I give them credit for their play. All in all, a great day for the Irish, but there are lessons to be learned from this game.

  • @jspillner
    @jspillner ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Again, another first quarter, Rees doesn’t give the ball to Estime and we struggle. We feed Estime, we have success. Game after game, Estime doesn’t get enough carries. Been saying it all year. That’s why Rees did not call a ‘great’ game.

    @Irish Breakdown, I’m going to eat my words now and admit I was DEAD WRONG when it comes to TB12 (yes, he earned a nick name after that game, hopefully this sticks with him), I always consider him a great high school QB, a College RB playing QB and in the NFL he be a Johny Football 2.0. After last night he shut that 💩down! He, IMO, just locked down QB1 in 2023, it’s his job to lose, not to win for he not only did he win the right to be QB1 but he won the team, coaching staff and all the critics over, myself included!

    • @pmoney9405

      With all due respect, he’s got very little chance with Hartman coming. Battled hard and showed grit, but way too inconsistent as a passer to give a team as good as ND the stability it desperately needs.

    TB had a gutsy performance no doubt . His successes and his failures in this game are both overblown. His first pick was a tip ball. The third was a horrific call. The second one was all Buchner. The running tds are ALL Buchner. Two of his three passing tds were a screen pass and a great play design. He had several great 3rd down throws and I love letting it fly for Lenzy on the deep ball. Honestly he reminds me a lot of Brandon Wimbush. The inconsistency will cost us games. Gutsy performance but Someone like Sam Hartman is going to make games like this 60-30

    • @StoicBehavioR
      @StoicBehavioR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good comparison. When Wimbush was on, he was hard to beat, but if the staff didn't get him in a groove he look terrible. Miami is the best indictor of that. Tommy needs to learn motions is his friend. When Tommy uses it, you see the play calling on point. The mentality line it up run dual from the start isn't going to work all the time. The pass is going open up the run on good teams.
