I'm just so glad that the 'Tones are hangin' in there. After the nightmarish changes in anything that resembles rock music over their 20 year history, and music in general, and not to mention the Chi tragedy, I'm glad to see that they and their fanbase is still in tact. They're still a really good band. I don't listen to them like I did between 1994 - 2000, but I'm always rooting for them to keep this thing moving forward. They've withstood the test of time.
Quite a bold statement. Hard to classify their music, pick a favorite song, or even a favorite album. A lot of their music can only be the 'best' of all their others for a certain period, later on, another song or album will become their 'best' for you. And it will keep happening, not necessarily in a chronological order. A testament of truely talented and legendary music makers.
Will Horton I don't think anyone has a problem with the song. Just about everyone here is a Deftones lover. I think people just take it personally when someone states that a certain IS the best when there are so many good ones to choose from. That's all. I can't name a favorite but Be Quiet and Drive has always been one I go back to for more.

All of Deftones albums have a uniqueness to them. No two are alike. Yet, they all sound so distinctly Deftones without sounding the same. That is how you measure the greatness that is Deftones.
Whenever he sings: "Thrust ahead." I can almost feel myself travelling through space and time, my body expanding and exploding into pleasurable nothingness as the chorus takes me "apart from the inside" and then it reassembles itself just to be "spit through the cycle right to the end". The beauty already blew my mind into little pieces, disintegrating, mutating and creating waveforms of colours and sounds.
Ever since Adrenaline (1995), this band has evolved and ceases to disappoint me. A band like them to have started off as a group of friends in 88' and be badass till now (28 years later) is beautiful. Their music puts me in a state of Nirvana and I want no retreat!

I remember listening to this song on repeat when it first came out while walking around at night having lots of regrets with decisions I made not wanting to return home.
My respect for them extremely increased when I listened to that album. You get a perfect experience when you stare at the full moon shinning over the sea while listening to that album. Gives shivers.

Once again this band proves to be one of the best of their own genre. Once I think they have peaked, they come out with a whole new level of dramatic music. Thankyou Deftones for working hard on your music, and coming out with albums in such a time where most music is nothing but computer beats, and crap. I went to a seattle concert in 2017 on July 3 to see Thrice Deftones and Rise Against. I was close to the stage in the pits and Chino came down to the pits and sang Knife Party and I got to touch his chest,his arm and hold his hand it was awesome. So unreal. I love Chino!

I'm thankful they kept their style and never changed. The new album is a sum of saturday night wrist and deftones, keeping the integrity but also mesmerizing. Portugal is missing you, altough we've seen you live 3 times in 2010!

Deftones are a band i´ve grown up with since i was 15. That fact that i´ve continued to be connected to their music, and spirit of their band is fairly rare these days. There is something special about this band.
My tickets arrived last week for their Manchester show in February, and i just preordered KNY with the tee that comes with it. My life could not be any sweeter right now!
in my opinion the Deftones just keep getting better. Everytime they have released an album it stays in my cd player for months and that is not an exaggeration. All their albums have their own greatness but i feel as though this is their best effort. I say it everytime they come out with a new one. Huge thumbs up.
I agree. I didn't become a Deftone's fan until recently, and I somtimes have a little trouble telling which is old, and which is new. There's the one's I know are old, and the ones I know are new, but that's only a handful of songs. Like this one, when i heard it on Pandora, i had no idea when it was made.
