Chino uses that theme in many Deftones tracks. All great bands do that. Water and drowning are recurring themes. Think of Cherry Waves. A British band called Suede do the same thing. They've been around as long as Deftones and keep getting better. Pure art. If you desire something new, check out the Suede album called Night Thoughts. Great record. I was a big deftones fan when i was younger . I stopped listening after white pony. My 32 year old little brother was a massive fan. He kept bugging me to check out their news stuff. After receiving his second shot he passed away from a heart attack. I've been listening to all the albums on repeat. Matthew was right. "Deftones are awesome ". This is beautiful

I listen to just about everything, but every time I listen to Deftones something comes over me. Chino's voice, the soft ballads, heavy rifts and the lyrics just bring me to a whole nother level. Deftones have always been awesome, but man, going back and listening to Adrenaline and then listening to this album it's ALMOST like two different bands, both equally as good. They've tweaked their sound so much, but still managed to stay unique and sincere.
D'Artangan Oswald that's true but there's something in every deftones song that makes me notice that what I'm listening to is deftones
adrenaline is the rawest version of their depths. me being close to chinos age, I grew right along with them. I was angry when adrenaline came out just like them, I was Mellon collie when around the fur came out and have been with them every step since. this band is the essence of me.

D'Artangan Oswald I feel like ever album has its own soul. different sound and attitude every time. I can listen to an album to any mood I'm feeling. I've loved this band for at least 15 years. had tickets to see them last year in Kansas city but then I had to go through chemo and missed them.

Deftones have been one of my favorite bands since the Saturday night Wrist album, and every album that I've heard from them, before that album and since, I can tell they've always been one of those bands that keeps evolving their sound, and Hearts and Wires is no different. Absolutely love this song, especially the guitars, this might be my favorite track off of Gore so far.
Like so many of their songs, Chino soothes you with the voice, then the gang PUNCHES YOU IN THE FACE WITH SOUND.
This song...wow. I think it's my favorite from Gore. Heavy but soft and pretty but morbid all at the same time. I don't know any other bands that can do that. It's like swerve city, it's got this sexy sound but heavy sound it's fucking great. I love this band.

Do this for other newer bands too because nowadays, the only money they make is through touring, so album money can really help them out. Thanks guys

I fucking love this band. They haven't changed so much to the point that they're not recognizable anymore, you can listen to this and tell straight off the bat that its Deftones. I love it.

Yeah I know its a GREAT song along with hole in the earth..I was talking about the album as a whole,It wasn't there best album in my opinion LOL..And I love deftones..always have always will!!I even saw an interview with scuzz and chino and the abe say saturday night wrist were there darker days..

This song is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever heard. What's weird is it feels like my own words. Beautiful in it's own tragedy. Like the last blossoming rose before the light is overtaken forever.

deftones technically never followed any one formula at all. so to say one cd isn't the same as another is ridiculous in itself.
imthatoneguy What makes it even more impressive is that despite the fact that they don't really stick to one format from record to record, they still have a signature sound. It's impossible to confuse Deftones with anybody else
