I just picked this up after watching all the tutorials on their TH-cam channel , it’s great. Used it on my first mix today , easy to use and worked perfect.
I have had RevoicePro for many years but have not used it. I have tried, but the workflow has been so tiring that I just gave it up. Now it seems so much better, and I´m really excited to try it in Logic! Thank you Synchro Arts!
i like using a combination of waves real time tuning and melodyne. i adjust the tuning in waves and only correct in melodyne if waves kicks out. most of the time i get a good "natural" sound out of it.
To be fair, I’ve used Vocalign quite a bit through the years especially for stacked vocals. It’s a monster for time saving and super quick too. I use Melodyne and Autotune for their purposes, so I don’t need Revoice… for now. Ha
Considering how incredibly expensive Revoice Pro 5 is, I honestly thought it would do a LOT more than just fix pitch and timing. "PRO Vocals in 1 Click" to me means it would automatically correct acoustic inconsistencies between different vocal takes (especially if recorded with different microphones or in different environments), remove background noise/reflections, de-ess, remove plosives, remove muddiness/boxiness, add air and use exciters (or similar) to improve the overall vocal sound. I don't think I'm being ridiculous as you can buy separate plugins to do all that for less cost, so I thought the benefit of buying Revoice Pro 5 instead would be it does all that automatically... BTW you clicked a LOT more than once!
Hi Bobby, I only use tuning software for lead vocals that require a lot of pitch correction, and for creating harmonies. Variaudio is convenient, but adds distortion and the harmonies are glitchy. Melodyne is more transparent, but I would be very interested in knowing if the Synchro Arts algorithm is even better. Also, can you use it to generate harmonies? Thanks. 🙂
You can create vocal doubles that sound pretty good. I would make doubles using revoice pro and then bring it back into cubase and pitch shift it with variaudio to make the harmonies. This worked for me most of the time, but there's no way to automatically generate a harmony straight out of revoice. If you're looking for better tuning software, you can check out waves tune which you can get for about $30 or single arts has their own stand alone tuning software called repitch which I think sounds pretty fantastic. Depending on the artist, I will sometimes use variaudio and other times, repitch. If you're on the fence, I would suggest picking up a trial and seeing if you like to workflow for repitch. It's always a little slow learning new software, but I thought it sounded really good. Hope that helps!
You can just use whatever the tempo is set to in your daw if the band didn't play to a click. That helps revoice know "where" to place the audio back into your session if you drag and drop it straight from revoice. Worst case you export from revoice and align manually in your daw. But if you load the ARA version of the plugin, all this should happen automatically and update everything in real time like I showed in the VocAlign ultra video I made before this one. Hope that helps!
This way is more universal for people but if you can use the ARA implementation of this plugin, do it! I think it's a better workflow than what I showed. Hope that helps!
Which DAWs does the drag and drop work with? I tried it in bandlab cakewalk and it doesn't know where to put the tracks on the timeline. It actually prompts me. Any idea how to make that work this seamlessly?
Ney. Thanks foe the video. I was wondering if you tried using the instrumental track playing a melody as the guide track to align and correct the pitch of a vocal to match the melody. I think I tried that with their earlier version plugin but it didn't work well
Hi Bobby. Love your videos! I have had nothing but problems with Revoice Pro in the past running in Cubase on Windows. I always thought that Revoice Pro seemed to work well on a MAC, but not on Cubase/Windows. Can you please comment? Is that why you don't have the ARA2 flavor shown in this video? Keep em coming!
I know that cubase has had some issues with revoice in the past including issues with ara implementation. That sounds like what you experienced. I asked synchroArts about this and they actually recommended to capture the audio live into the plugin instead of using the ara feature for cubase 12. Supposedly it's a cubase issue that they are working with Steinberg to fix, but given that cubase 13 just came out I doubt there will be a patch for 12 to fix whatever issue it is. But if you are on 13, you should be good to go with full ara implementation of this software! Hope that helps!
Hey I hope everything’s fine ,can you say the difference between Revoice Pro 5 and smartalign ultra ? Can you put some details on it ? Thanks for the video.
The biggest difference for me is that revoice pro can time align and tune harmonies that aren't octaves of the guide track and it also offers all the functionality of repitch software. Revoice pro can also make vocal doubles (and they sound good to me!). Hope that helps! VocAlign ultra is a very solid piece of software if you don't need to tune and time lots and lots of vocal tracks.
They are both great pieces of software. I personally like the workflow and overall sound in revoice little better than melodyne. But melodyne allows polyphonic tuning which revoice doesn't. So if you need to tune chords then maybe look at the higher tier versions of melodyne. Best bet would be to grab a trial of both and decide from there 😁
its good to align multiple different vocal takes, but you will need to make sure your main vocal track is timed and aligned perfectly. If you are new and want to learn this skill, I have a KILLER vocal editing course (I think the link is in the description and it's VERY affordable). Check it out!
Probably! It's a really expensive piece of software but if you edit a lot of vocal stacks, it could be worth it for the time savings! It does a very very good job of aligning and tuning vocals. Is it perfect? Nope! But it's a very helpful tool to have.
I wrote to them so many times and asked them to implement the scissors and gluing function, as is implemented in Vari Audio. It's so inconvenient. To cut the piece, you need to switch to scissors. Then, until you switch to the Selection Tool, you won't be able to continue editing. You need to remember a bunch of keyboard shortcuts. After working in VariaAudio, I can’t adjust vocals in it. It's long and inconvenient. In a word, ASS.Another annoying thing is that when you select a segment and play the right note, you hear ZZZZZZZ. At this moment my ears need help. In Vari Audio, by performing this function, you will hear a clear voice.
The user interface for this plugin is deadly terrible. Like they need to hire a good UI / UX guy and redo this release. It's absolutely dreadful working with this piece of software which is a bummer considered its great tech.
It does! And cubase tools do sound good. But I think this is better and MUCH faster for large vocal stacks. For smaller projects I just use vari audio in cubase 🙂

bought vocalign project, never used it. upgraded to ultra, never used it. why do i wanna upgrade to revoice? gonna do it tho
Lmao

I'd be really interested to know if you can use it to tighten guitar performance when you have like 4 DI tracks

Nice video! Sounds like a really useful vocal production software. So much in the one app. 😮🔥🚀

Does Revoice Pro 5 do both alignment and tuning or do you also need Retune, their tuning software?
Bobby, what happened around 4:30 when you had to set up the BPM??? What if the band isn't playing to a click? Or am I not understanding something? thx
You can just use whatever the tempo is set to in your daw if the band didn't play to a click. Thanks man!@@RaytownProductions
Hi Bobby, thanks for the video. : ) Is there any reason why you're using the ReVoice Pro Link plugin rather that ARA2? Many thanks, Darren (Wales, UK)

awesome...yet another "game changer" thanks bro

best tutorial out there

Sigue siendo complicado y enrevesado para mí
You are NOT using the ARA version????
that first board isn't on mine I followed to a t smh never fails
Is this good for a singer with no music engineering experience 😢

i dont get how its in a click of a button when it looks like melodyne workflow
This software should generate harmonies and be tempo synced!
how TF do I set which scale I am when tuning vocals?
You don't, it snaps to chromatic scale and it can't be changed.

I make music as a hobby...is it worth saving 600 dollars?
Hehehehe got it for a whooooooooooooole lot cheaper lol!

Pro vocals in 1 click, give or take a few hundred clicks

none of this is working on studio one 6
I counted way more than one click

Can you elaborate? Like what is so horrendous? My buddy swears by vocalign and this seems to be a step above that from what I’ve been able to tell
Not even this makes my voice good
Doesn't Cubase already have the tools built-in that do this?
That is what I was thinking 🎉
It does! And cubase tools do sound good. But I think this is better and MUCH faster for large vocal stacks. For smaller projects I just use vari audio in cubase 🙂
🙌
what if track has tempo changes? I think next important update will be ability of Revoice to sync with project tempo track
