    Great description of the basics Marc. I find myself going back and forth between looking at the card and the reels. If I concentrate on the card too much, it takes away the joy of watching the reels “land” even though they are driven by the card.
    I’m interested in the nuances behind how the casino controls the game. If there are controls in place. How many machines are part of a draw/given game or are all machines engaged in the same draw?

    This video definitely helped explain why you can get nothing even with a “good card” after you showed that the numbers called out in white do not count toward any pattern. Learned something new. 👍

      @Gailesch you can play these and pretend your on a class 3. Disregard the card and watch the reels, enjoy the wins. There are some like Marc showed you wouldn't even know are class 2 but play like class 3 machines with bonuses (technically 'red spins') and progressives. good luck! 👍

      I think the point of the video is explaining the difference between a bingo machine and a class 3 with RNG in the computer? A blind man can play slots as the machine will always let you know when you win.

    hey marc, when people ask about using a players card, my theory is when people go to work, they might use a time card to clock in and if you do not clock in the time clock then you do not get paid or credit! (i do remember back in the 1970s when almost everywhere you worked you had a time card to clock in).

      My personal recommendation is make a decision; either use card all of the time or never. Yes it is that simple. I use card most of the time; fun when you win $ 500 or $ 1,000 in a drawing or $ 200 freeplay which turns into multiple jackpots.

Can also get in trouble going higher denom & bigger bets -very different from a Class III strategy

    My regular Casino has a lot of class two bingo machines and I love playing them. This video helped me understand them so much better!!
    So, I have heard a lot of people, when playing class, two machines, saying things like slow down your spins and let the numbers catch up or waiting for a certain number to appear before they spin, etc. does any of this matter or change the outcome of the spin? Hope My question is not too confusing lol

    Thanks, great video. I suspect there is a competitive aspect also when getting paid on a pattern. Friday night I had a small diamond that did not pay. All the numbers were eligible. Do you think someone else had a small diamond at the same time and in the same game and was paid for it because of some additional programming logic? Thanks again.

    • @4jp
      @4jp หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The patterns are further restricted beyond the "yellow" balls. The player is allowed a specific number of calls to make the pattern, which ensures a predictable long-term probability. The exact number is listed in the rules. In the video, the "corporal stripes" is a 10 spot pattern that must be matched using the first 27 numbers to win. The probability is the same every play, so the game maker calculate exactly how much this pattern contributes to the return.

I assumed if a pattern hits in 33 balls called that if the pattern is there but 34 or more balls are called it won't hit. Which would explain why the farther you are on the bingo card the less likely you are to get a hit or red spin. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

    • @4jp
      @4jp หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no pool. These are not pari-mutuel. This is a bingo game with bonus prizes for people who match certain patterns within so many numbers called. The competitive part pays peanuts and the bingo game is only there to make the game legal as bingo. What they are actually doing is using a very complex game, bingo, to model a less complex one.
      The patterns shown in the video always have the same probability no matter when a person joins a game or how many people are playing. The "corporal stipes" is a 10 spot pattern that must be hit in 27 calls. That is not likely (i am not sure how the calls work on VGT, so I cannot calculate probability of it happening.) Playing with more people or playing at the end of a game or playing at 10 am does not make it more likely. It is always the same.

It requires physical access to the machine to change anything meaningful on a class III game. The "whole house" progressive you speak of might be tied to the players card network and not the game itself. The players aren't actually feeding the progressive with their play. Other theories exist beside what the casino tells you 'random number generator' NO, you do not have a chance of winning a progressive or jackpot on any random day. Sine wave rises and falls in synch. It does NOT spend that much time at the peak of the luck/energy. Science Technology Engineering Match (STEM) techniques apply to gambling; for example; did you make an A in statistics class ?

    • @GambleSmart
      @GambleSmart  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually did, both courses :) Although statistics isn't my favorite subject, I'm a software engineer and love math. Probability and statistics comes into my work often. They use a pRNG that is seeded by multiple values, both located inside and outside of the brain box. This ensures that on boot, the initial seed value is not predictable in any way. They go to some insane lengths to make sure it's as random as it possibly can be. It can never be as random as what appears in nature though, it's still computer code. But, for the sake of gambling machines, the method in which they code the pRNG prevents predictable outcomes.

    I think the presentation of the bingo game itself is the most confusing.
    Are the white numbers there just so people can’t win all the time? Because in regular bingo everybody shares the call numbers but none of them are “ineligible” if you have them.
    And do different machines get different patterns? Why would I go play a 9 line 5 credit if the 3 credit 1 line has the same patterns? (Besides the chance to win bigger)
    Do all the machines have the same white numbers? Or does everybody on the server get different white numbers?
    I understand the randomness of it, and the appeal, but I just feel like RNGs (class 3) have a more presentable approach

    • @kevinb4079

      Lots to unpack there. The white numbers are ineligible numbers. Notice they continue to appear after the spin as that game of bingo continues to be called. Why they highlight them on the card even though they are numbers relating to the card you drew on the spins, I'm not certain. I can only assume it's make it look like you have better card then you do each spin. It's not like a traditional game of bingo where your card is played until the game is over. You're playing the game as it's in progress at that moment you press spin.
      Anyone playing the same game of bingo on the back-end will have the same numbers. The color of the numbers can be different though based on at what point the spin was made and the card drawn. Since the back-end bingo servers can be "feeding" many different machines you could be on the same bingo game as the person next to you or playing a different bingo game. The only way to tell is to look at the numbers drawn. If they are the same on both machines then most likely both machines were playing the same game of bingo during the last spin.
      Yes different games can have different winning patterns you need to match and what those patterns pay can be different. Again, just a guess, but this appears to be how they can emulate volatility found in class III games.
      Unfortunately there's not a lot of details known about how the bingo game works, at least in fine detail. So there's some level of guess work involved based on what we do know and some things will just remain a mystery until more details come to light. I believe that mystery behind them is what gives them a bad rap when it really shouldn't. I personally believe the casinos would prefer players just see them as slots and ignore the fact they're playing bingo.

      @@kevinb4079 agree with everything you said. There is a lot of mystery and Marc did a great job of explaining it all as best as he could.
      I’m sure most people probably don’t care about it being bingo. But why disguise it as a slot? I guess because they know the general public will just assume they are slot machines and not that you are playing something completely different than a slot?
      I just feel like if the class 2 machines were a little more transparent then the appeal of them would be more tolerable. With a class 3 I know I’m basically playing against a RNG, but with class 2, it’s just like ‘ here is a winning pattern…every now and then’

      @@joshhammonds7145 I agree! The reality is that class II is just a way to get around state laws banning "gambling". In other words "we're not allowing gambling...we're just expanding bingo". You know....the same bingo they play at churches and such.

      The white numbers are there so someone can win the competitive portion. To make it "bingo", they need to play until someone wins. Otherwise, it would just be a lottery. 3r9l cannot have the same patterns as 3r1l. They need a pattern to represent each possible win in the game, so the more lines and reels, the more patterns. It works just like class III, only the way they pick wins is different.

      @@4jp I don’t know if there are that many similarities between them outside of the reels and something telling the machine what symbols should display when the button is pressed.
      I mean, the class 2s I imagine wouldn’t have a RTP right? Plus no volatility. And the big one being that class 2 is peer v peer while class 3 is you vs the machine.

    Bingo vs Keno. Why does Keno get such a bad rap?

    The problem I have with class II machines is this. Where I live gambling is not legal EXCEPT for a certain indian tribe is allowed to open a so-called casino with class II gambling only. The rub is, there is no gaming commission in our state, so there are no rules, no oversight, no enforcement. You get the idea. From where I'm from, they are just a complete money suck.

      That’s not true, each tribe has a gaming commissioner- it’s required. There is oversight.
