Here is where I write things to appease the algorithm:
I'm Luna and I make videos about Critical Role, Dungeons and Dragons, and other nerdy things that take my fancy! You'll find theories, hidden details, DM tips, campaign stories, and more! I primarily cover D&D but will occasionally dabble into other RPGs as well.

Which part of Tales of the Shire are you most excited about?! I can't wait to decorate a little hobbit hole 😭
I absolutely LOVED the proto-hobbits in the rings show, building a hobbit hole would be amazing to do in game.
I read The Hobbit for the first time in the 3rd grade and it started me into a wonderful life of geeky Fandom that I still love and embrace today.
4:35 You are not exactly alone in that aspect: I really love the Peter Jackson movies (yes, even the divisive Hobbit trilogy), prompting me to read the books at first but ultimately have to bail out because I really struggle to finish beyond the first few pages of Fellowship of the Ring due to Tolkien's incredibly dense writing style!
Omg i think it’s absolutely precious how emotional you get as the intro began. Really shows how excited you are for the game + how much of an impact The Hobbit as a whole has had on your life. 💕 (I’m just as excited!)
Yay nerds for life!
This is so genuine and wonderful. This game does not fit my wheelhouse as I'm not one for farm sims or cozy games like stardew or animal crossing, but I do understand the appeal and this looks like it has a lot of great elements to it. What I am FULLY on board with is being able to do it in the freaking SHIRE! I've had other games that make me as emotional and nostalgic as you and I'm so happy this brings you such joy! If you do stream in, be sure to drop the vods on youtube too cause I would definitely check it out!
I love the juxtaposition of you saying "I've got to pull myself together" and putting on a flower garland. ;)
I am with you in the "haven't read it" category, only it's for both The Hobbit and LOTR in my case...I've seen the films and enjoyed them (The Hobbit trilogy, not so much, alas!), and even know a bit of the lore, but haven't had time to read the books. I have actually read some Tolkien: some of his medieval scholarship (e.g. "Beowulf: The Monsters and The Critics"), and his translation of Middle English texts like "Sir Orfeo" (not to be confused with the biscuit-selling mascot, Sir Oreo!), because that was my "day job"; but, not the actual juggernauts of 20th century fantasy fiction themselves. Oh well...if anyone is mad about that, in your case or mine, there's a lovely town with the initials of F. O. that they can go visit. ;)
Yeah that’s the thing, I think anyone can be a fan of something even if they haven’t “finished” it or “seen the whole thing” or whatever it is. There’s no point in gatekeeing someone’s joy!
@@Luboffin That's a lovely way to say it! :)
Yesssss, now all I need is some elven furniture and I will be content
Yes that would be so pretty!
@@Luboffin ultimate childhood dreams coming true
It's so cool to see a creator that I respect telling me about something that wasn't on my radar :)
I'm glad to share it with you!
Fun fact; I was born the night the Rankin/Bass Hobbit movie premier and my mom refused drugs while giving birth because she wanted to stay up and watch it. I guess technically it was the first movie I ever saw 😅😅
omg that's amazing haha!
I'm so excited you did a reaction and are maybe gonna stream the game!!! My first introduction to Middle-Earth was the movies, though I only saw them on DVD as they came out, never in the theater. I didn't read The Hobbit until my late teens, and was only able to get through the LotR books for the first time last year on audiobook. (Narrated by Andy Serkis! Very good overall, but boy was his singing for Tom Bombadil hard to get through! lol) I've read The Silmarillion a few times, but it can definitely be a slog. It's much more fun to listen to the Silmarillion Film Project podcast over on The Tolkien Professor.
I definietly plan on streaming the game! I haven't tried lotr with an audiobook, maybe I should give that a go!
Hering you talk about your love for the Hobbit and seeing your old book was really special!
Thankyou
Hobbit Crossing: New Horizons?
How has no one done a cozy Shire life sim before? Good on Weta for this one.
Right? It's the perfect setting for a game like this
@@LuboffinAnd Tom Bombadil would be so much better as a landlord than Tom Nook.
Tbh I’ve never played these types of games, but most of my friends and tons of my favorite games reviewers/ journalist got into AC: NH during that crazy thing that happened.
Have you ever played Lotro? Currently celebrating its 17 year anniversary. Worth checking out to tour the Shire and Bree and what not if nothing else.
I have not! Never really been in to mmos to be honest
Mae Govannen, Mellon Nin. Middle Earth forever calls me home.

COZY HOBBIT GAME!!!!
Algo :)
It took me a few goes at getting through lotr but tom bombadil stopped me till i decided to skip over his part. I think mum read the hobbit to me really young. I'm really looking forward to this, glad weta are involved in it.
Yeah I wonder how I would go now, it's been a number of years since I attempted. I actually really liked tom bombadil! I can't remember where I got up to last
@@Luboffin I think he was such a tonal shift and then did nothing to help them in such a bad time. it was a REVELATION to little me that i could skip part of a book, i felt like i was breaking Book Law. I have just got a copy of an audio book of lotr to listen to, might be easier than trying to find time to read.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about it, something in the style isn't quite hitting it for me, and I'm just not usually a "cozy" game type. I'll have to see a lot more before I'm won over.
This game will not take place during the fellowship of a ring, it will not begin when five armies battles, and it will not begin with an unexpected journey. It will begin as you might expect: in a hole in the ground...where there lived a Hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole full of worms and oozy smells. This was a Hobbit hole. And that means good food, a warm hearth...and all the comforts of home.
I cant find on my switch yet, is anyone else not finding it yet to wishlist? Or am i way too early yet.
Ooh I haven't checked on my switch yet! I just wishlisted on steam
did you watch of Lord of the rings and Hobbit movies
"Welcome Home, Hobbits"
Got me pretty good not gonna lie. 🥲
Same, I just wanna be a hobbit 🥹
