The attitude of Canadian employers towards MBAs is of pure indifference. Students get confused because they see the scope of MBAs in USA and they assume it translates into Canada as well- and it simply doesn't. Unlike USA, Canada has very few jobs for MBAs and even for those there is a huge amount of competition. Unlike USA, where employers train and nurture MBAs, Canadian employers don't do that. Canadian employers focus on experience much more than credentials ( so a high school diploma holder with 2 years of "Canadian" marketing experience will get a job over an immigrant with a marketing MBA/masters and a PMP) On top of that salaries for MBAs is pathetic in Canada as compared to USA. So in short, target USA if you want to do an MBA else stick to the top 3-5 MBA schools in Canada ( Ivey, Rotman, UBC etc) But remember that there are very very few jobs for MBAs in Canada ( unlike USA) and they go to the top 3-5 MBA schools ( if you are an MBA from mid to low level MBA school you WILL NOT GET A GOOD JOB) . 95% of Canada is made up of small to medium size businesses and they don't know/care about MBAs. Go to USA or go to a very big school in Canada.

sadi viziotv well said ... never a bad idea to pursue higher education, but i find it that MBAs here in Canada are not as high regarded as in the US. And if you’re not going to the top 3-5 b-schools in Canada then you’re kinda wasting your time.
