Sad to see Ethan Hawke (First Reformed) and Toni Collette (Hereditary) not be nominated. Also, even though it was a long shot, I’ve would have love to have seen Topher Grace get nominated, cause he did an excellent job in BlacKkKlansman.
I love the nominations for films like BlacKkKlansman, Roma, A Star Is Born, and The Favourite. Bohemian Rhapsody was okay and deserved its nominations for Best Actor for Rami Malek and Best Sound Editing and Sound Mixing, but nothing else. Vice wasn't completely great, but at least it got in for acting and makeup. As for snubs, my big ones are Won't You Be My Neighbor for Best Documentary Feature, Bradley Cooper for Best Director for A Star Is Born, Eighth Grade for Best Original Screenplay, Ethan Hawke for Best Actor in First Reformed, Emily Blunt for Best Actress in Mary Poppins Returns and Suspiria for Best Makeup & Hairstyling.
2018 was just a weak year for movies. Was really hoping Claire Foy would've been nominated for first man and Timothee Chalamet for Beautiful Boy. Beale street was the biggest snub for sure though

Actually it only made about a hundred million by October 17th so somehow it made exactly 100 million over the span of three months perfectly domestically and internationally. You know how improbable that is. Let me help you. When Venom came out in October or star was born was using bad PR to try to throw under the bus and this was costing that money. So they had moved a lot of their funds from Past comic movies like Superman V Batman and Justice League into a star is born. Then Aquaman hit a billion and they pumped even more into getting a star is born nominated. The reality is that we think they were literally paying people to go see this movie and funneling money into it. It literally stopped at boat at 200 million dollars roughly the difference of about give or take 40 Grand. That sounds like funneling money. And the fact that I was noticing in the data that only after 2 months it had a literal steady Plateau it didn't drop it didn't rise which is close to Impossible movie numbers. Roma is winning best picture. After bradley being snubbed for best director, there is no way Roma is losing.
It has the most realistic chance at the win.
I can see Black Panther winning best costume design, but not best picture.
It can't win without a writing or directing nomination.
