Geordi's memories of that Andorian might have actually happened... but the Andorian was a holo-character.

I remember watching this episode when it first aired. My mom and I had just gotten into TNG, and knew little to nothing about the characters (which was quickly changed after watching reruns). Levar Burton was still Kunte Kinte (from Roots, obviously, which was always being run on some channel) for me and Mom. He was still the Reading Rainbow guy for me. Even then Levar Burton was a national treasure and a hero to countless children like me. I was very young, but to see Laforge be tortured, brainwashed was terrible. Levar Burton, though, the master craftsman of any and everything he puts his mind to, knocked this shit out of the park.
Oh, the actor playing the Romulan will be become one of the "star trek company of guest actors wearing prosthetics", and will return as a high ranking Romulan intelligence officer (possibly the same high ranking Romulan intelligence officer) in DS9.
Ironically in the last episode you suggested that there was a miniature Romulan chest burster in Odan . Would have been funny is a miniature Jordie would have bursted from Odan . 😂
I really felt for Geordi in those scenes where he's being tortured , it does further add to painting the Romulans out to be really Evil .😳 and i did just notice it reminds of the plot from a Manchurian Candidate a great thriller you should react to as well. i like the reverse mystery approach as well it reminds me of Colombo Thanks for brightening my morning JEN I'm enjoying the analysis /outros as always Happy Sunday !! 😄🖖

The *original* film from 1962, not the remake.
LaForge mostly got subpar focused episodes, but this was his best one.
Manchurian candidate episode. As Worf would say., "The Romulans. They are without honor". That klingon ambassador was probably not just killed. He was tortured to death slowly. Did you recognize the voice of the person in shadow at 2:56 ? ❤🤍💙
The Romulan Candidate. I wasn't able to squeeze this in before work today, so I'm watching later than I usually do, but it certainly gave me something to look forward to. Thank you!
I liked this episode when I first saw it, and I liked it even more when I discovered where it was leading.
This is great, a classic science fiction adventure! Great video and you were beautiful as always 🙂
thx for the episode, counselor murray 🖖
next week should be fun
Gotta love it when they test firearms near the worp core. 😅
I guess we all forgot about fingerprints and DNA right
Troi's powers were always as weak or as powerful as the plot needed 😂
Note to self: However tempting, do not vacation on Raisa.
At least, don't take a shuttle to that world if the Romulans have any nefarious use for you.
It’s kind of a running gag. Vacations on or to Risa never go off as planned.
This was one of my favorite episodes of the season! They do seem to be building something... 🤔🤔🤔 Oh yeah its called better and better Sunday funday with Jen and TNG!!! 🖖
One of my favorite episodes
I find it so amusing when sweet little Mrs Jen exclaims "SUCK IT!"😅... funny girl...last thing id expect 😅
@15:13 like the second time Troi actually puts in some serious psych work
Although...aired in 1991, that's pretty close to the satanic panic brought on by inexpert psych creating implanted memories of abuse in people.
I always knew Jordi was a spy and traitor. I pegged him during reading rainbow.
LOL
This is a hard episode to watch, not because it's bad but because of how effective it is. I hate watching Geordi get the "Clockwork Orange" treatment** and it's chilling how close the Romulans came to succeeding. Thank goodness for Data!
**I am aware that this episode is based on "The Manchurian Candidate" and not "A Clockwork Orange." However, I've never seen "The Manchurian Candidate," and that particular scene of them forcing Geordi to perceive disturbing images reminds me more of "A Clockwork Orange."
Qapla means “success”.
5:16 She can't feel that he's lying if he believes what he's saying, but I guess you can see that in retrospect
Ya I understood that more watching it back in editing for sure
@@jenmurrayxo It's nearly impossible to not love you, Jen. It takes a strong person to admit a mistake, even one as extremely minor as that one. But hey... why do you like to tease Troi (beyond the obvious - easy target because the writers make mistakes). Not that I have a problem with that; your teases are witty and always understandable. I'm merely curious.
Hey Hey there Admiral Murray 😊 Hope you're having a good weekend. It's always a good time for Star Trek Sunday. Love your reaction as always ❤️. Live long and prosper 🖖 😊
Picard and Geordi should start a support group for survivors of abduction and brain reprogramming.
I'd watch that episode.
Really good episode
I have to disapprove the killing of holodeck O'Brien!😐😜 Great reaction as always, Jen!!
I always feel so bad for Geordie, every time I watch this episode, or a reaction to it..
The Romulans stole a part of his mind, and a small piece of his soul...
The Romulans remind me of my ex-wife,during our separation she also stole a part of my mind and a small piece of my soul.
a very cool episode Jen.
Continuing our journey with lieutenant Murray on next Jen Sunday's is the best 🖖 it's always fun hanging out with the community but first another trek joke apologies in advance 😅
Why is Captain Picard the best captain and the best poet?
He always follows the Rhyme directive 🔥💙🔥💙
*Fun Fact: Lawrence Dobkin portrays Klingon Ambassador Kell. He also directed the Classic Star Trek episode “Charlie X”!*
Ironically in the last episode you suggested that there was a miniature Romulan chest burster in Odan .
Would have been funny is a miniature Jordie would have bursted from Odan . 😂
Love your medical uniform.
It's not Captain Jen, its now Dr. Jen!
Awesome reaction as always!
I really felt for Geordi in those scenes where he's being tortured , it does further add to painting the Romulans out to be really Evil .😳
and i did just notice it reminds of the plot from a Manchurian Candidate a great thriller you should react to as well.
i like the reverse mystery approach as well it reminds me of Colombo
Thanks for brightening my morning JEN
I'm enjoying the analysis /outros as always
Happy Sunday !!
😄🖖
The Romulan commander in the shadows does return …
This was an excellent episode! I enjoyed seeing your reaction to it! There's a big surprise coming up! (No spoilers...)
Hi Jen hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Thanks John you too!
Great episode. Romulans doing Roumulan things...
The visor isn't necessarily "top secret" technology. It could be a standard -- if not terribly common -- medical prosthesis, so its specs may be widely known and easily available.
Concerning the lady in the shadows: As Geor Mormont from GoT would say, "I dare say we'll see her again."
Lol. Many of us complain about how useless Troi is. She only seems to inform the crew of obvious stuff lol.
Guinan seemed to be more effective as a counsellor. Troi wasn't as bad as my last therapist though... 🙃
@@jc441-i3q Guinan was also better at sensing things being wrong.
Well, at least she isn't just repeating the computer...
