Kenya is actually a hilly country. You happened to have traveled east of Nairobi, which is relatively flat. If you travel north, west or south, you will encounter mostly hills. The average altitude is about 2,500 feet above seal level. Mount Kenya sits above 17,000 feet, with the areas around it mostly hilly.
@@Nalisuitsvlogshello, i think that's because you are descending towards sea level towards the coast in a gradual slope. you even notice this as soon as you go to the west of nairobi where it is cooler and rainy and green (higher altitude) while in the east side of the city it is dry and hot(lower altitude),nairobi kind of marks a centere point where there is this gradual change in elevation, this continues all the way to the rift valley west of nairobi whose escarpment is lined with moutains and hills, then you drop into the valley to cities like Nakuru, then there are steep inclines and high elevation getting out of the valley in Mau summit and Timboroa, after that it's mountains, hills and valleys all the way to the Mt. Elgon at the border with Uganda, check the elevations of cities and big towns on the west of the rift valley in Kenya, if you thought Nairobi is cold, you'll be surprised how cooler it is those sides
