Can you do a timer when you are using the mower just to give us real figures cause what the manufacturer tell you it’s usually bull man these Ego batteries cost a fortune
That's a long run time. Under real world load like tall or wet grass the run time may be a little lower but that's still a long run time. Great video thank you
I wish I could have this is the best, but for me, it’s a big clunky load. Too heavy, shaft too short, even extended. Hoping Lowe’s will take it back even though I used it.
EGO battery = Awesome GoPro battery = Bad Seriously GoPro your camera's cost more then the line trimmer but can't even last as long. maybe EGO should start making action cams. Tip for any one in the market for one if you also in the market for a mower get the mower with the 7.5 AH battery then the line trimmer by its self for a modest size yard it should have plenty of power for the weekly mow + edge trimming no need to wast money on a second battery.
@@YardBrah definitely give it some practice bro, you'll get way less resistance on your line. Plus you can see what you cut walking backwards, like how writing with your right gives more visibilty than with your left.
As the ego slows the motor or increases speed based on load, this test is very flawed for actual run time. Granted they are still very good, but the test is bad.
My gas trimmer died this morning so I picked up the $299 ego trimmer with the 4Ah battery, carbon fiber shaft, telescoping handle and line IQ. I can say, I am very impressed. Cut all of my trim around the house, sidewalks and fence with ease. Still had 80% battery left when I was done. The auto feed line worked flawlessly and the power was great. I am definitely a believer now. I tried the Milwaukee trimmer before this one and it was garbage. Didn’t last 10 min. The ego is in a whole other league.
@@Brandon-ll3ff Milwaukee's fuel has same power as the ego, even for 18volts. The downside is that it's running on 18volts and normally comes stock with a 6ah or 5ah pack. Which is basically like a 2ah 56volt ego. So if you got a 4ah ego. that's basically like a 9ah 18volt or more. So course your ego will last whole lot longer and with less load. Same comparsion to Ryobi's 40volt vs 18volt. a 2ah 40volt will be same exact power time as a 18volt at 6ah. So a 4ah 40v will be much more runtime or same if you pair with a 8amp 18volt. Milwaukee surprisely has the power. But because of it's lower voltage and requires a higher ah battery for a smaller ah higher volt system. It means it'll get a lower runtime under load. Sadly the biggest mistake ego is making compared to Milwaukee. Is they aren't learning to have a expanding future proof system like Milwaukee has. As Ego limits some of their devices to specific ah sizes. Unlike Milwaukee that has room to fit much larger packs in any of their tools. So you could put a 12ah in the trimmer, or lawnmower, etc. While Ego fits to specific size of their tools. Sure it'd make weight heavier with 56volt at 12ah. But the amount of time you can gain over weight is very great for future proofing. Another one is Ego doesn't seem to be pushing their tools to the limit as other companies are doing. Even at lower voltage some of the companies 18volts are very much on the level of 40-52-56-60volt systems in performance.
For general tests ok. But for the main focus of the tool. This is probably the most lamest test ever. If you TRULY wanna test battery life under load. Go to a yard that has a foot or two weeds and go crack down them. Now that will be a test of runtime and performance. And for the general lack of info. Ah/Amps can differ between eachother. It's called Current. Which is way more higher then the battery life. 56volt at 4ah is just to give a example of battery Watt hours. It doesn't exactly put into true terms of the power the unit uses. Also could've done without the jumproping, bad robot dancing, and jumproping dealo. Plus weird hangloose sign. (If no one knows what the pinky and thumb out means. Yes it's called 'HangLoose' It's a sign of saying stay cool.)
