  • This TH-cam video will explain what a building engineer does. From changing light bulbs, to project management. No two days are exactly the same. A building engineer wears multiple hats, needs good communication skills, good people skills, and problem solving skills . I highly recommend the trades! HVAC is great career choice, it's in high demand. I'm not too good at math either, that's what calculators are for 🙂

I’m going to be a Stationary Engineer for a medical/hospital facility. Any tips for a beginner?

@tylerdurden6186 learn as much as you can, even on your own time. Try to attain certifications/licenses that are applicable to your job. Getting an EPA 608 Universal Certification for example. Good luck with your new position!

Yes I have my section 608 universal certification as it was one of the requirements. One other question, are there any questions that I should ask my chief before stepping inside of the building, questions that I can help train myself on before starting in the role?
