    I own a 720s and it’s the best super car I have ever owned.
    The Artura has been getting excellent reviews from professional journalists and the 765 is selling for well above its retail price.
    McLaren will not go bankrupt IMO as the brand and its cars are superb after solving the problems associated with the early cars.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amazing, the 720s is a dream car, as you can see from my profile picture the 765lt is my dream car. But yeah I don't think the company will go out of business, but it may file for bankruptcy and sell off some of their assets, like they did with their HQ and when they laid off some of their employees, unless they get more money from either the Artura, an investor or the Bahrain royal family.
      I truly hope they don't though, im a huge fan of their cars and F1 team and I hope to one day be driving a McLaren like a you.

    as a Ferrari fan I really hope that McLaren can stay in F1 because I want to see Ferrari against McLaren again. I think it would be great if BMW would help them as BMW already owns a few British car brands and they have already produced one of the best supercars of all time together, the McLaren F1.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. As a McLaren fan, I would love to see McLaren keep going in F1 and reach the top 3. I think it would be awesome if BMW or Mercedes helped them out since both have done collabs with McLaren. But I feel like that's unlikely; maybe a bigger group like VW could be a possibility, or a different investment firm.

    Formula One is killing McLaren. McLaren is a brilliant company that makes some of the finest cars in the world. It needs to stop the financial bleeding in Formula One by getting out of the sport. Formula One is so horrifically expensive to race in now only true multibillion manufacturers making money independent of the sport can afford to race in it. I hope the brilliance that is McLaren is saved by people looking at the balance sheet and realizing that the brand and those brilliant hardworking people in it are more important than feeding an increasingly impossible to afford to race in motor sport.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      True, I think McLaren spend $140M last year on formula one. But I also feel like F1 is a huge part of their branding and their success. When driving McLaren you can also feel that it is optimized more for performance rather than comfort which I think goes back to the F1 branding, that might also make them loose sales because the average rich guy will probably choose a more comfortable car that looks flashy like a Lamborghini instead of a performance car like a McLaren. Idk I want to see McLaren succeed in both places as I'm a a huge fan of their F1 team and their road cars. But I do think if it comes down to it they are going to cut their F1 team before going out of business

    • @phil4986
      @phil4986 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lets-talk-cars I get the branding, but I think McLaren is on the hook for way more then 140 million a year to Formula One. That sport has lost its mind on how expensive the cars are to produce and operate. McLaren is a company that deserves to survive whatever that takes. The world laughs at the British for how bad their cars are but nobody laughs at McLaren. British brilliance in engineering, design and execution. McLaren deserves to survive and prosper. F1 or no F1.

    Ever since Ron Dennis left it seems they've slowly gone downhill. So if they do go bankrupt I would imagine there would be some pretty heavy deflationary pressure on their used models. Would be interested to hear other people's opinions.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I haven't really thought about that, but I guess I do see somewhat of a connection between Ron Dennis and the slow demise of McLaren. I think that if McLaren were to go bankrupt, the prices of all of their models would sky rocket since McLaren are known for their performance and impressive history and when people won't be able to get them no more I think the demand will be higher than the supply.

  • @isaacciavarella383
    @isaacciavarella383 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would say yes. The creation of the artura is a prime example, they are trying to hype it up because they know they are taking steps backwards. Also because of the new carbon emissions they are converting to a v6 which will loose a lot of fans because it doesnt sound as raw, nor does it look like a mclaren. Artura is a prime example of mclaren going the wrong way

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I have nothing against the Artura, I still think it looks like a McLaren and it doesn't sound terrible either in my opinion. I would much rather prefer the Artura over a full electric McLaren. But yeah they are definitely hyping it up, it doesn't even seem like it is working I am not seeing many people talk about the Artura. This could be because customers haven't yet received their cars, but still a lot more people are talking about the Ferrari 296 gtb compared to the Artura.

      @@lets-talk-cars Agreeable..Tbh it sounds good for a v6, but doesnt sound nearly as good as a 570, 600, 720, or a 765, which are near its performance. Nor does it look as sharp, looks more like a c8 than a mclaren to be honest.
      But yah, its just one step close to fully eletric, which is due to the carbon emission regulations and subsidies from the government to convert eletric. In my opinion will destroy a good majority of the car community.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can definitely see what you mean. And yeah unfortunately we are getting closer to fully electric cars which is sad.
      But I have heard that porsche is investing heavily in hydrogen fuel and from what I have heard you can't hear or tell the difference between a car run on hydrogen and fossil fuels besides the fact that hydrogen is zero-carbon fuel. So I hope this works out because that would be amazing.

    • @isaacciavarella383
      @isaacciavarella383 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lets-talk-cars People have made water fueled engines already, they just all go missing. Even if porsche did find a way for hydrogen fueling to be used, I doubt they would release it as the government would be affected negatively as a huge part of the income comes from the fossil fuel industry, nor do any current governments really put funding into it.
      Just hope they dont ban carbon emitted cars from driving on the street as they are starting to do in places like london, it would be a dream someday to own a 765 lt

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard about the water fuel stories. But this thing with porsche seems more like a possibility. Porsche themselves have came out and said that they have "started commercial production of the alternative fuel in chile. By mid-decade, Porsche is planning to produce millions of gallons of the e-fuel." An cnbc article went more in depth about this topic.
      But regarding banning fossil fuel cars, that have already started happening. Like you said, also other major cities like Copenhagen have zero carbon emission zones where it's illegal to drive if your car's carbon emission is at a certain level. And I agree with you this is sad, I also want to own an 765lt one day as you can see in my profile picture, but my hope is in Germany because they recently rejected EUs plan for banning fossil fuel cars.

    Poorly put together cars with shite after sales and warranty plus so many “free” cars to “influencers” leads to poor financial sucess

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't have knowledge about them giving free cars to influencers, but I could see it happening, but then again, that's also quite stupid from a business standpoint since the ROI would be minimal. If they have done that to a lot of influencers, then yes, that is most likely a huge reason. I will agree with you that the quality of their cars isn't on the same level as Porsche, Ferrari, or Lamborghini; however, I think that when you buy a McLaren, you do it for the performance, and that is something McLaren can deliver on since the 765LT almost beats every single car on the 1/4 mile. But I feel like the performance aspect of the McLaren has kind of been taken away, and most people just talk about the bad quality, and that has definitely led to a loss in sales, as you said.

  • @Happy-wb8gi
    @Happy-wb8gi ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Tbh, I think Mclaren started wrong from the start. They should have remained simply in F1. They showed they can produce great cars, but their intention was simply to beat Ferrari in all fields and its proved not so easy.
    To run an F1 team and a business making and selling cars is a completely different world. Very sad, because its a great company, but they should have just concentrated on the F1 team.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah true, F1 is after all the motorsport that is farthest away from real cars. However they have managed to create some notable road legal cars, they have tried their best. But yeah as sad as it is they either need to be purchased by someone with more experience in those fields to do both or choose either their F1 team or the business. But let's see what will happen to McLaren, I don't think they will go out without a fight.

    Hold up, McLaren went bankrupt before in the 650 S days. McLaren is OIL MONEY, and the United Arab Emirates first, and now GULF OIL. They will be around as long as that partnership holds out.

    • @lets-talk-cars
      @lets-talk-cars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true, I think it's the royal family of Bahrain who are major shareholders now.
      If a company goes bankrupt it doesn't mean that they go out of business, filing for bankruptcy gives the business time to change around their assets, so if McLaren were to go bankrupt now it would probably mean that their employees will be fired or that they will have to sell off their assets such as the F1 team.
      I don't think that the partnership is as strong as it sounds because then they wouldn't need to sell their HQ or their rare cars in order to survive. But that's just my opinion. I hope you are right because I would hate to see my favorite car brand exit F1 or go out of business.
