These models are tempting me to switch eras and model the Southern Railway. I'm really happy with my Admiral Cab, but with a family heritage with the Southern, it's made it tough to decide.
Great looking SD40-2s! Any comments as to what will or can be done about the clicking sanding lines issue? This seems to be the most common negative issue in reviews of the model. Thanks. Cheers, Dan

I had the same problem. Horrible clicking. I had to cut them off. The units also constantly derail. Wheels are in gauge. They run great. Look fantastic. Never stall. But both units constantly go on the ground where no other six axle units fail. Slightest imperfection in rail joints derails them while other units have no issues.
You should have function 3 set to a nathan P3 and put a P3 on the short hood end of the model. And also thats a bronze bell not a steel bell. And thats a P5, not a P5A

Please make another run with NORFOLK SOUTHERN paint so we don't have to repaint and decal them to model a more recent era......

That Southern paint job was one of the classiest ever in railroading. It's too bad Norfolk Southern did not use it. The NS paint job is terrible.

the "front"....high hoods were such oddballs i'm not used to long hood forward so i always run them "backwards"

I love the locos but I find one thing wrong with them. They are missing their ditch lights.
Southern Railway SD40-2s never had ditch lights. Norfolk Southern versions, which came later, did. -Drayton
