Couple'a points - when fighting the spider, to farm the AP, you need to knock it down, and then while it's doing it's healing routine you need to wail on it - you have to interrupt the routine and make it stand up early. Then when it goes down the 2nd time, you flee and you'll get your 50 AP. With a setup like this one where Squall's normal attack (with trigger) does around 1500 hp, just do those and add in the other attacks as well - it'll fall, get up early, then go down again. Don't need Renzo, won't need to heal (probably), and can get all the AP... won't be anything left to learn after this part until you get Diabolos. ;) **edit** So I wrote this early in the fight (around 20:00 on the clock). I see that you fit your rythm back towards the end there. I do realize that you were using the finisher to get the soidercdown and then back up in a nice neat combo, but it's not 100% reliable as the finisher doesn't always fire. Still worked out though, so yeah. Loving the series, by the way. :)
yep its been well over 10 years since ive done this with a low level, normally i boost squall up to 30 with ifrit's STR bonus and just 1 shot him with a normal attack and knock him down again with a slightly powered up Zell for speed.
Taking the radio tower is more about a strategic denial of resources rather than adding to your own resources. Sure you could build your own tower, but that does not take out their communications.
Did you know that talking to people during the Dollet mission lowers your initial SeeD rank. Jumping off the cliff like Selphie also lowers your rank. Your rank is raised if you defeat 10 soldier encounters before anaconda. also goes up if you save the dog. so many little things change your conduct score.
Ok, so, I've slowed the video down to half speed so I can read the dialogue, and that makes dude sound straight-up hammered. This is especially funny in the "don't worry, I swear I've got a driver's license" scene at 6:11

Conduct was low because you took a long time to escape from Dollet. Judgement was low because you did the fire cavern way faster than you guessed you would. Attack was maxed cause you commited genocide with Seifer on the bridge in Dollet. Spirit was at 0 because of all the times you escaped from the Spider. Lastly you had 10 points deducted (which results in a score of 70 for deductions) because you neither destroyed the spider before the screen with the dog in dollet, nor helped the dog escape when the spider was about to crush him.

I guess you would get tired of talking while you grind for hours on and on. I think that it would be great. When you mentioned energy crystals it made me remember how I almost used em accidentally when modding gf abilities from items. I got my 20 elnoyles, converted them early with all my other extra cards, and was looking at the descriptions instead of the item itself. I seen the gf +40%, almost used both of my crystals, but luckily i decided to wait. I almost passed out when I realized it. So definitely keep the elnoyle cards till you need the crystals, just in case! Lol
I've also noticed that yes the boosters like no encounter x3 speed and infinite hp dont disable trophies and makes grinding a breeze, especially the infinite hp booster it gives you infinite limit brakes while healing you in battle, as any damage heals you!
Not sure if it's mentioned, but you can kill spider on bridge. You have to knock him down 5 times in the same battle. Then you just walk back to the boat, no car destruction.

Welll theres cards but save your cards. I figured out that if you get the 3 g enemies on the bridge you can draw, all four from the two on the left.....
You only get the AP when you drop its HP to zero before it has a chance to repair. Usually with this set up 1 renzo will do it, it'll do the animation to drop and stand right back up. However low damage rolls can let it survive with minimal HP, those are the times it drops and goes through the repair text. If you let it get to 100% repair and stand up it'll reset the hp but won't award the AP. Hope that makes sense.
ive not the "low level" version in so damn long lol, normally i have squall at 30 with more STR boosted by ifrits bonus so i normally just use attacks hence ive completed forgoton how the fight worked. all i could remember was i had to knock it down twice basicly.

Might be that Seifer level is counted for the sum of the level party, but when the game divide by the party number, it does not count Seifer as being in the party as he's not a permanent member... Edit- actually nvm... You just need to reach total level of 75. The average is the floored (integral part) of the party level, here 25, and the "mod" is the floored division of the average by 5, here 5. Enemy are EITHER average plus or minus mod level, so here 20 or 30
You got Seifer’s limit break at 1/2 health because your party members were unconscious. Limit modifiers include how much danger you’re in from being annihilated.

Apparently, this world is somewhat futuristic. So the radio wave technology is lost for some reason. I would believe having a backup of old tech is important. But they seem to not have any means to build a radio tower. So invading is the only answer lol (I'm guessing diplomatic methods were already exhausted lol)
To be fair, Garden was Cid and Edea's dream to raise a culture of warriors who could take on sorceresses and prevent crap like Ultimecia from happening, so hiring them out as mercenaries is an essential apart of their training. Also, Cloud was younger than Squall during the Nibelheim incident.
I found using “mad rush” to be much more effective than renzo. Also junctioning shiva and Quetzalcoatl to either zell or selfie so you don’t have to worry about hp management. Just don’t zone out because you could easily kill the spider if you’re not paying attention.
Zoning out is just something thats bound to happen when making videos. if i put 100% concentration onto the video, the gameplay suffers, and if i focus on gameplay the video suffers, its finding the right balance which matters but then there are still gonna be small mistakes here and there
Anyone else running into an exception error when using the speed booster? It seems like old screens might get stuck in RAM and get referenced if you do back to back screen transitions too quickly
After some more rigorous testing, some friends and I came to the conclusion it's caused by OneDrive syncing. At least, disabling OneDrive seems to resolve the bug. :)
Thanks for your Video. Started with ff8 on Xbox. Your Cardtipp was very helpfull. Ive heard that a good way to Play the Game is to keep the Level Low. What do you think? Is it better to Play with Low Level or is it better to Level Up?
i personally prefer a mix, i get to level 30 for diablos draws and then ill stay 30 until i get more GFs for Stat up abilities, its not the end of the world if you do level up though. the game is still easy if you junction correctly. when people moan about being low level for the whole game its kinda stupid because they make out you cant clear the game at high levels which is absurd. you can get level 100 with squall before ifrit and still solo the game with him.

If I remember correctly you have always limits unlocked when only one party member is alive. Even with full health. If it doesn't show up just press the "party member switch button" which was square I believe...?

I know this is super old but I’m at the point I just got killed by the boss at the comm tower and reloaded and have 2 dead party members with no items to revive them and there’s no rest points or item shops. So I have to start a new game? Super frustrated
For the bit grinding Seifer on the bridge you can select an already completed ability on the gf's learning so that they don't get AP while Seifer levels. The gf's still gain levels that way but won't learn anything, so when you beat the mech spider the AP will be more beneficial

you cant fix it, its because they nerfed the FPS down to 16 during battles (inc the menu) back on the PS1 battle menus were always a solid 60fps. you just need to hit the trigger a little earlier than you would on ps1
Care explaining how you got curaga on the bridge sequence? I like the walkthrough, but details like this being skipped isn’t really helpful. I’ve been following along as best I could and now I’m stomped on how to get it. I can’t draw it from the soldiers and I can’t see any way to refine it due to me not having high mag RF yet. So what to do? Also if all of the gf are on seifer then how am I supposed to get magic on squall and zell?

Can you explain why you don't want to earn up for squall/Zell? Not played this since it was first released so don't understand why. I'm assuming it's not beneficial to have high levels early, do the enemies level in relation to your level?
its a little tricky to explain, basicly i want to keep them low leveled so i can level them up with "bonus" abilities to gain extra stats each level. i do get them to 30 a little early so i can draw holy and flare from diablos but then i do the rest of the game until disc 3 around level 30
So how exactly are you getting 50 AP against the spider machine. I've knocked him down multiple times before, but I've never gotten 50 AP for it. Just wondering about the exact set up so I can do that in my next play through.
Basicly reduce his HP to 0 so when he falls down he will get back up (or hit him while he's down before he repairs) then knock him down a second time and it will reward you with AP
Minor point: great series, but the constant subscribe reminder bugs are distracting. You should lower their frequency or just ask people to subscribe in the beginning or end.
Quick question. Does it matter if I level up Seifer higher than 60? I'm at 46 now. Will it help me if I go higher? Will it be harder? Will I get more benefits while fighting the boss if I'm higher than level 60? Is level 60 the cap for Seifer since he isn't a permanently playable character?😊😂

Yeah...you didn't save the dog during the retreat, spirit is based off the number of retreats you make during the exam (every spider encounter hits you here), judgement is the cave top score is beating ifrit with 5 sec remaining or less, conduct iirc is the number of conversations you start from when you return to Balamb with ifrit til you get back from Dollet (I do have an old guidebook that mentions these ranking charts) the fun thing is the 1st time you take out the spider you get 100 point bonus for your ranking. Sadly the 1 rank that is a pain to max is attack doing 75+ non GF wins during Dollet
I love your play through I've kinda bin mimicking it. I found 2 things. If u get squall to level 11 do everything else the same but then fight the spider boss in dollet. U can ap farm using one renzo then when spider stands up just one normal attack then flee. Works everytime. Also i got a different drop. I seen u gained a hypno crown but i received a power wrist. I had less then 2mins remaining when i beat the boss. On my first run i beat the boss on accident well before 5mins was remaining and got the hypno crown. Do u know if its a random drop on does if have to do with when and where u defeat the boss. I can't find anything online about it. Sorry for the long post but again love the channel man.
Seifer has a different requirement for Limit Break. It depends on the stats of the party. You also lose points for doing unnecessary things - like talking to people
Well actually its not your magic stat that affects how much you drain. Its actually your level, I had over 100 magic or so on a level 8 and they mass fail at stealing aga spells because they're too low level for it despite having the stats you would expect if you unlocked it later without a grind.

23:25 Limits come easier when your party members are KOed. He can be at full health and still get his Limit.
Seifer has always been able to use his limit break from max health. I see it in the same vein as Seymour having advanced spells in FFX.
Thats only because Squall and Zell were KOed, not because of anything special. Its a danger modifier.

Radio tech isn't lost, it's just been widely disused due to the interference from the sorcerer that's been occurring for over a lifetime.

Ive played it as a child and it was not that enjoyable cause i didnt understand it xD i got several questions and maybe the rest could also help out ;) is it correct that youve drawn the lvl 30 spells and transfered them one by one to the other characters? And most importantly does it make sense to grind the other characters to lvl 30 too? Its just for my future "game Plan" and further understanding of the game mechanics. Just wanted to know if it would make sense to get everyone to lvl 30 and beyond or wether its enough to keep just one party OP? Hope i didnt wrote too much and thx guys
On the SeeD exam in Dollet farming with Siefer it's easier to get the enimies lvl up with Squall and Zell both being lvl 10
Thought Seifer and Edea could use their limit abilities at any HP(without the use of Aura).
No its a danger multiplier because of 2 KOed party members.

Can you grind for cards after the dance?
If I remember correctly you have always limits unlocked when only one party member is alive. Even with full health.
If it doesn't show up just press the "party member switch button" which was square I believe...?

don't know if you are still asking yourself however Cifer is able to use his Limit Break every time when Squall is dead i heard that in a speedrun

I know this is super old but I’m at the point I just got killed by the boss at the comm tower and reloaded and have 2 dead party members with no items to revive them and there’s no rest points or item shops. So I have to start a new game? Super frustrated

For the bit grinding Seifer on the bridge you can select an already completed ability on the gf's learning so that they don't get AP while Seifer levels. The gf's still gain levels that way but won't learn anything, so when you beat the mech spider the AP will be more beneficial

you cant fix it, its because they nerfed the FPS down to 16 during battles (inc the menu) back on the PS1 battle menus were always a solid 60fps. you just need to hit the trigger a little earlier than you would on ps1

Care explaining how you got curaga on the bridge sequence? I like the walkthrough, but details like this being skipped isn’t really helpful. I’ve been following along as best I could and now I’m stomped on how to get it. I can’t draw it from the soldiers and I can’t see any way to refine it due to me not having high mag RF yet. So what to do? Also if all of the gf are on seifer then how am I supposed to get magic on squall and zell?

@@sicwriter yes, I’ve also changed my view on the “walkthrough” itself. I don’t recall him saying you could do so in the video at all. Thanks for the tip, so now I know I can do that when I go back to actually platinum this game. It goes without saying that as I’ve been following this walkthrough, it became less of a “100% platinum” and more of a hurry up and finish the game. Needless to say, I got extremely irritated at that fact when I did beat the game and got no platinum…

Can you explain why you don't want to earn up for squall/Zell? Not played this since it was first released so don't understand why. I'm assuming it's not beneficial to have high levels early, do the enemies level in relation to your level?
its a little tricky to explain, basicly i want to keep them low leveled so i can level them up with "bonus" abilities to gain extra stats each level. i do get them to 30 a little early so i can draw holy and flare from diablos but then i do the rest of the game until disc 3 around level 30

So how exactly are you getting 50 AP against the spider machine. I've knocked him down multiple times before, but I've never gotten 50 AP for it. Just wondering about the exact set up so I can do that in my next play through.
Basicly reduce his HP to 0 so when he falls down he will get back up (or hit him while he's down before he repairs) then knock him down a second time and it will reward you with AP

Minor point: great series, but the constant subscribe reminder bugs are distracting. You should lower their frequency or just ask people to subscribe in the beginning or end.

Quick question. Does it matter if I level up Seifer higher than 60? I'm at 46 now. Will it help me if I go higher? Will it be harder? Will I get more benefits while fighting the boss if I'm higher than level 60? Is level 60 the cap for Seifer since he isn't a permanently playable character?😊😂

if you destroy the spider in battle it doesnt trigger

Yeah...you didn't save the dog during the retreat, spirit is based off the number of retreats you make during the exam (every spider encounter hits you here), judgement is the cave top score is beating ifrit with 5 sec remaining or less, conduct iirc is the number of conversations you start from when you return to Balamb with ifrit til you get back from Dollet (I do have an old guidebook that mentions these ranking charts) the fun thing is the 1st time you take out the spider you get 100 point bonus for your ranking. Sadly the 1 rank that is a pain to max is attack doing 75+ non GF wins during Dollet
It’s not worth defeating the spider, you miss out on the badass Quistis scene shooting that gun. AGH

technically yes, but in the remaster the chance for the end to pop up is so damn low you'd have better chances winning the lottery

Does anyone have a tip on how to get full hits with Squall's limit break? It's done by pressing R1, correct? I miss it so many times.
I love your play through I've kinda bin mimicking it. I found 2 things. If u get squall to level 11 do everything else the same but then fight the spider boss in dollet. U can ap farm using one renzo then when spider stands up just one normal attack then flee. Works everytime. Also i got a different drop. I seen u gained a hypno crown but i received a power wrist. I had less then 2mins remaining when i beat the boss. On my first run i beat the boss on accident well before 5mins was remaining and got the hypno crown. Do u know if its a random drop on does if have to do with when and where u defeat the boss. I can't find anything online about it. Sorry for the long post but again love the channel man.

Seifer has a different requirement for Limit Break. It depends on the stats of the party. You also lose points for doing unnecessary things - like talking to people

Well actually its not your magic stat that affects how much you drain. Its actually your level, I had over 100 magic or so on a level 8 and they mass fail at stealing aga spells because they're too low level for it despite having the stats you would expect if you unlocked it later without a grind.
