It’s a shame that this isn’t in any premiere screens anymore

Yeah, thats the problem with so many summer movies wanting to use the premium formats. They only get a tiny amount of time.

If you have a dual laser imax with a huge screen doesn’t get better than that and Dolby doesn’t hit the low ends like imax

Dolby projectors are better than IMAX…all IMAX has going for it is the larger screen/aspect ratio. It gets beat everywhere else. Dolby projectors have the same resolution but 500x the contrast ratio which makes images look even sharper. Darker darker and brighter brights. Higher quality picture.
And the audio isn’t even close Dolby Atmos absolutely mops the floor with even IMAXs new IMAX enhanced audio. 64 channels including 12 height channels vs 12 channels including only 4 height channels. Dolby sound is cleaner and the directional accuracy is far better.
Seating is better as well in Dolby, most IMAXs, real IMAXs with the giant screen have older seating and even with newer seating it’s still much closer packed together.

dolby has a 2.39 widescreen in some of the amcs its worth going to see when the film is 2.39 like mission impossible. most of the screens are 1.85 though

Unless specifically filmed for IMAX, i prefer Dolby. Superior sound is enough for me, but the more comfortable seats and beautiful picture quality without the overwhelming size makes Dolby the winner.

Looks like Tom Cruise has decided crop the scenes that were shot with IMAX cameras, because IMAX were only giving MI7 only 1 week access to theaters.
And after that 3 week access to Oppenheimer.
Because there is a dispute between parties.
So now there is no special experience in IMAX. Whole movie is in a fixed widescreen ratio.
    Just saw the movie.
    IMAX execs did Tom dirty.

I don't understand why a dialogue heavy movie like Oppenheimer needs 3 weeks...

IMAX is a dead technology, while Dolby continues to innovate IMAX is stuck in the past, and most IMAX theaters aren't even real IMAX but charge full price for a screen size less than half of what its suppose to be. Not spending my money for them anymore, they won't be relevant in years to come.

Yeah, it's so dead that top tier directors keep optimizing their movies for the format

@@thebrockoppsideonly idiots like you will pay for a movie that isn’t shot in IMAX, Imax is only worth it if it’s Imax film. Not Imax laser/digital.

I saw it in IMAX and was sad to see the aspect ratio not change after Fallout was shot in IMAX for some sequences.

Bro can you do the same with Oppenheimer

    • @thebrockoppside
      @thebrockoppside  ปีที่แล้ว +4

Absolutely! If all goes well, I'll be seeing it in IMAX, 70mm and 70mm IMAX
