I hope Elder Scolls 6 will have spears and pole weapons.
including penises
you know bethesda, lets take out 10 things and give 1 'cool' in return... smh they will surely take out the 3 person view to give us spears....
Busco Pruebas
no
Busco Pruebas To be honest, I feel like it's the other way around. I feel like they take away maybe 1 cool thing for each 1-3 they add in return. For example: We can mix and match fewer armors because of fewer slots, we lost spellmaking, and we lost a ton of enemies such as daedroths, scamps, xivilai, ogres, etc., but in return we also got a lot.
We gained a MUCH more fluid combat system in terms of both weapons AND spells (Although it's still a dumb slap, poke, and prod using weapons instead of real stabbing and slicing), we got useful, selectable perks, we got actual speech options instead of just "Hmm, so I need info on the Oblivion crisis. Let's pick 'Oblivion Crisis' since they're too lazy to add 'Can you tell me about the' in front of it.", we got enemies like dragons, ice wraiths, wispmothers, dragon priests, they brought back Dwemer animunculi, we got Falmer, etc., we got a real-time world map, and going back to Morrowind was arguably more wanted than The Shivering Isles.
All in all, Bethesda adds equally to the game as they take from it. The game's still great, but because of different mechanics. Perhaps TES 6, being on a different generation with far fewer limits than its predecessor, will be the best one yet. I think that you have to appreciate the good parts of all of the games rather than focusing solely on the bad for each newer game. Morrowind was far from perfect. It was great, but it's undeniable that Skyrim improved some things Morrowind lacked in even if it did throw away some mechanics you loved about it.
Morrowind had spears, but... you know, best TES game ever made and so on...
I am now one step closer to being a Dragoon in Skyrim.
Soon
forgive my ignorance... what is this dragoon you speak of? i would search it up but i am not sure what source material it comes from. it sounds cool though
eh what? dragoon means light cavalry, earlier known as mounted infantry, named after the firearm-equiped french version of it, since their firearm was called dragon, but their weaponry commonly were swords, maybe a pistol. Nowadays, ceremonial regiments are called dragoon, since their actual battle efficiencly is quite low.
I think ***** ment the final fantasy one...Just a guess.
oh. well i am stupid. thank u
For the love of god if Elder Scrolls 6 has the kind of in-depth combat that Mount and Blade has, i'll never leave my room again.
Weapons needed:
Spears/pikes
Javelins
Horses that ACT like horses
Slings
Throwing axes
Glaives and halberds
and viking ships!
I'd personally love it if they took a few hints from the modding community and made combat harder and more dynamic, introducing elements like parrying, countering, evading, staggering, injuries, different effects for hitting different parts of the body, tripping, morale, grappling, and actual consequences of failing to block incoming hits.
Vanilla combat in Skyrim is just a competition to see who can take the most hits. There's no actual need to use a shield or even armour, and archery is a joke. If a big Orc comes charging at you from behind clad in full orcish plate armour and swings a freaking battleaxe at you with all his strength you'd just take a bit more damage than you did from the skinny Bosmer who hit your shield with a simple iron sword. You wouldn't even flinch from the impact. Never mind the fact that your head is already decorated with 11 ebony arrows fired from some guy with a glass bow standing on a small hill 60 metres away. Or the fact that a several thousand year old dragon is currently spewing fire at you and the wooden scaffolding you're standing on. Or the fact that you're only wearing a fur kilt and some thin hide boots because you accidentally sold your beautifully crafted ebony plate to that guy in Whiterun and didn't have the money to buy it back (at least you had the money to buy a piece of leather to sew onto the fur kilt). Or the fact that a crab the size of a small boulder is clipping away at your ankles with claws the size of your torso. Or even the fact that you're on the coast of the Ghost Sea, at night, in a storm, wearing a fur kilt and a pair of thin hide boots.
In case you were wondering, this actually happened to me once. I lost about half of my health in that battle. I then ran back to Whiterun (yes, I ran all the way, in full orcish plate and carrying 20 different weapons in my backpocket, because somehow I considered fast travel to be too unrealistic) and handed in the quest to those ungrateful bastards in Jorrvaskr. I also killed 4 dragons and cleared 6 bandit camps and 2 dungeons on the way, one of which had the dragon priest Vokun inside. I killed him too. See my point?
***** Same. Deadly Combat, Deadly Dragons, Duel - Ultimate Combat (or something like that), Duke Patrick's (whenever I can get it to work with the rest of them), kuertee's Battle Fatigue and Injuries, Running Drains Stamina, Animations (as well as some potion drinking animation that I can't remember where I got), SkyRe, and Requiem, as well as a few tweaks of my own using TES5Edit.
Basically, groups of five or more bandits should be avoided at all costs unless you're good with a bow (or accompanied by a follower or two). Dragons are down-right impossible without proper preparation and no small amount of luck.
***** Is there a spear mod? I guess spear fighting may be included, it's a long time since I took the time to incorporate his changes into my load order. I'm talking about Duke Patrick's Heavy Weapons and Archery, in case you thought I meant something else.
guys try SkyDie, it makes the game feel like Dark Souls a bit, need to manage your stamina, and you do immense dmg, but npc do immense dmg too, no more bashing that old draugr 100 times for him to die, you swing a powerfull 2handed weapon and hes half hp, but you better parry his, if not you'll be half hp :O
This should have been in the vanilla game! Great mod!
Ahh, "Hello, and welcome to Brodual" is always the best thing to hear after a long day.
FINALLY. I've been waiting for someone to make a mod like this for ages
I absolutely love the LAG that comes with these animations! Oh yeah, I would totally download this mod!
Well done man!
After finally getting it all to work, I can say this mod is definitely worth it.
how do you throw the javelin? i can use the spear and its animation, but the javelin didnt do anything. if i equip it, and left click , my character will only punch
Its a good mod, thats not in question. However it causes a large amount of script lag, and greatly increases the amount of CTDs you get. In addition it accomplishes its "New Animations" by switching the player race when you unsheath the "greatsword" causing it to take on the reikling spear animations. Not only does it also affect the appearance of enemy NPCs who use them, it also requires you to run a patcher every single time you install a new mod. The spears also scale strangely, seeming to benefit (at least in my game) from two handed perks instead of one handed perks despite being wielded in one hand. It also requires you to uninstall PCEA if you have it, rendering previous PC-only animations useless. Not only that, the author packaged the files with typos in some of the folder names, so after you install it you will need to change the names of some of the folders in order to get it to run correctly, or else you'll get stuck with the dreaded "T-pose" without any animations at all.
Is it an awesome mod? Yes. By all means.
But in my opinion this mod could have greatly benefited by being released later, rather than sooner. It feels unfinished in several ways as well as unstable, and its got several dirty edits in it.
I just can't use this mod, though I tried it out and the spears are certainly fun, i crashed every 5 minutes with this character to the point where i was spending more time waiting for my skyrim to boot up than I was spending playing the game. Once I uninstalled it, I'm back to only getting a CTD every couple hours or so.
FINALLY
ive been waiting for a spear mod with a custom animation for years xD
You also didn't mention the near 25 steps you need to take in order to install this thing.
ye would be cool if Brodual or Gopher made a video on how to install this mod with MO. Or if someone could make a BCF for Wrye...
He did say installation was tricky...
Welp. Fuck this mod then.
Négro Pantéra
booohoo it's too hard for meeee fuck this mod!
Damn you all look like children, you realize that it was considered IMPOSSIBLE to program a new weapon type with its own animations? That guy just managed to do it and instead of applauding his exploit you all cry because you have to use your brain to instal it.
CatroiOz One of the reasons why the Skyrim modding community is one of the worst. Mod authors pour several, sometimes hundreds of hours into their projects and the first thing some people do is complain.
Dayum. These are some solid animations. Kudos to the mod creator!
Great Mod, I've been tracking its development for awhile. Congrtaz to Soolie who actually went through with this
I've been waiting for this for soooooo long!!
Beautiful. Custom animation mods deserve all the props. Good job man.
Dude this mod is sick. I tried looking up spear mods a little while ago and couldn't find any good ones, awesome that someone made a great one :D
guys! just watched every single one of your videos it took me a lot but it was worth it. i really really love your channel, hope to hear more of you in the future. have a great day :)
I agree that this is the best spear mods of all. The only downside is the head thing only. Thumbs up for this mod
Only 4 years late.
3*
+The Ultimate Keyboard Warrior 4 :)
Bartek Radek Well, 4 now :)
BRODUAL PLEASE MAKE AN INSTALLATION GUIDE!!!! ITS SOOO DAMN DIFFICULT TO INSTALL!!!
Ikr,even up to now,no one made an installation guide and some like me have problem when installing
+iSham2044 Seriously please. I got the spears and javelins into the game, but there's no spear animations and I can't throw the javelins.
Aardvark
Same but I its invisible
iSham2044
Same here. It says it's been added, but there's nothing in my inventory.
i just said fuck it supposedly this mod has mass compatibility issues anyway
This is really cool. Glad to see a spear animation mod done well! :D
love how even though spears were one of the first weapons used by mankind they’re still probably the best all around melee weapon thousands of years later. and yet the people of skyrim neglect this amazing tool
Excellent! I've been wanting spears for a long time!
This is a great breakthrough for the modding community!
I think I will wait for some polish to be added to the animations first though.
Cool video Thanks for making these! I hope the modding community stays this strong for skyrim, until TES6
I wouldn't use the spears on my own, but I will propably install this mod because NPC use these weapons. Maybe a bit more challenging to fight against enemys with long range weapons and more abilitys.
That dance at the end was from SWG... props to you sirs.
Finally someone managed to do this.
Bethesda better take some hints form this mod, adding larger number of weapons types like spears and short swords are a must in elder scrolls 6. This looks like a great mod.
I am looking forward for ancient greek army mod :) spears and hoplite shield.
and no I am not talking about 300 mod.
ABOUT FUCKING GOD DAMN TIME SOMEONE MADE A GOOD SPEAR MOD!
Now I can finally role play as Oberyn Martell, yusss
HOLY SHIT THIS I SO COOL OH MY GOD ITS SRSLY THE MOST AMAZING THING IV EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE UUYUGUGHUGUHG
fitting picture..
It reminds me of the Warden in LOTRO... Very good!
Did you know Brodual is actually 2 people?
@@drasticpup860 reported
Finally a spear mod that doesn't recycle staff animations
Finally! Always wanted a spear!
Finally spears with animations!
It was weird to swing a spear side to side.
:D thanks so much! I was just looking for a spear mod a couple of hours ago!
"Spears by JEIKSOOLIE".
Anyone?
***** Because that's what I referenced.
Deroni76 Jake sully....MOOOOOOOOOOM I GOT A REFEREEEEEENCEEEEE
I can imagine the dragon born on horseback firing arrows and useing the spear as a Lance before slicing with a sword
Very nicely done.
I always wondered why spears and javelins weren't in the original game seeing as the vikings of old used these kind weapons a lot.
Finally spears! Hopefully two handed polearms are added as well.
0:43 It's like the producers of Game of Thrones saw your video and decided they would have to include that for s5e9.
Firing a sword like an arrow
Dragonborn is fate archer confirmed
YESS now my argonian made can clean my spear
two handed spears with proper animations would be awesome, but i guess we'll have to wait a few more years for that.
"New thrusting animations"
:0
Two-handed Spears with incredible reach and pierce armor and only do poking strikes.
oh my god someone figured out how to do it. dream come true. no offence to the mod author though, but I really hopes he makes a standalone animation pack so that more popular mods such as perkus maximus or immersive animations can add it to theirs
I was just checking this mod no lie :D
Would be kinda cool if there was a mod out that introduced polearms a their own weapon type with their own skilltree. It would include: Speers(some armour penetration, good power attacks), Halberds(superior reach to any other melee weapontype in the game, with the ability powerstance that allows you to hold a stable stance where you take reduced damage from melee attacks, and you cannot move but it deflects a small portion of all damage back to the enemy, the stance is entered by blocking) and Staffs(very high attack speed, power attacks will knock enemy shields away and can disarm them if they are caught in a attack animation).
About time!
This looks pretty good.
New opportunity for weapon mods
Holy shit, you guys really went on emergency mode over this
Just restarting and will use this.
It's outright criminal that spears aren't in the vanilla game. Spears were THE most common weapon all over the world in that time setting. They require much less crafting metal, much less time to craft, easy to use and thus requiring little training. This should have been the first weapon type to be in this game. The hell was Bethesda thinking. They put em in Morrowind tho
Three years later, we got a much better mod in the form of True Spear Combat which not only includes many of the things mentioned here such as spears and javelins, but also adds better animations of spears in the game, but also is compatible with many other mods which use spears (some of them even replace the ones that come with the mod itself), not to mention even including Halberds in the game making the potential for halberd armed monk style builds MUCH MORE REALISTIC. Not to mention easier to install!
Basically; if you who are watching this video looking for a great spear mod but aren't interested in the long installations, bad animations, incompatibility issues, CDT increases, True Spear Combat is where it's at.
Hey Brodual; when you gonna make a video on this?
one of the best mods !
Now I can start my Redguard character and Roleplay as a stonedog Aiel! WoT and ES come together at last!
I always play Skyrim under the "If you use any weapon, ever, you are a fucking coward" law. But after seeing this I might make an exception... Because spears.
Now all we need is the Ancient (Falmer) Steel Armor.
For those that don't know, the Falmer is in brackets because the words aren't in the name of the armor. So it's named Ancient Steel Armor. Now, onto the point of what i'm trying to say.
The armor belonged to the Snow Prince and it was buried along with his body. If somebody made the armor for Skyrim, it would be _awesome._
-Not that I would enjoy it, I don't have such a computer to run at high speeds.-
i was waiting for this, thought the mod was dead.
it looks so good but goddamn that install system, I hope the modder learns a few more things and makes a more NMM compatable version. That and I'm using a combat overhaul mod so not sure how Javelins would react to the bow tree getting split into Light and Long Bows. Still, looks cool and hope it gets some work on it!
Cool mod. Will have to keep an eye on it for Skyre compatibility.
Soolie, keeping it real as always ;)
finally, spears :) now let's hope someone writes patches for the spears added by other mods (like the ones added by PerMa, or the spear of thorns) to use these animations.
They should also come up with a Spear skill tree
Thank you bros!
The melee animations look good but there is a small interval before the animation triggers that looks rather odd and wonky, but the javelin animations are spot on.
If only there's Dragonslayer Spear...
At least its a spear which actually spears.
Not a spear-looked-swords.
If it wasnt for the installtion i would hit this like a train. It looks good and i have some ideas for entire builds around it like the Spearmen/Spearmaster. valkyrie and others
Gonna have to javelin me a dragon when I next load up
Now we can do a real Spartiate
Cool mod! And it's a good material for Skywind
They need to make one for Lances. They could be the Two Handed
Sadly the Spears by Soolie I have still has spears swinging like swords.
Me too
It only works if you start a new game :/
+M's Game Lounge Ehh so bad :/
Ya know one other thing they could do with Spears? Make 2 handed pole arms, scythes, and halberds an option, too. And simply do to the 2h what you did with the one handed. The 2handed polearms wouldn't even necessarily be that much more powerful...but because you're using 2 handed on them, they could swing slightly faster, block, and hit multiple targets.
What would be cool? If you wanted to have melee for back up with javelins?
Ok, you have a shield a sword and javalins all equipted. But the weapons are "put away". If you hold attack while your weapons are put away and the enemy is a distance away, you automatically reach for a javelin and throw. If it's PS3, then you press square and you pull out your sword for melee. Make sense?
If they bring back polearms, give Argonians the highest bonus for them. For Javelins? Redgaurds and Imperials. But melee spears? Argonians.
I am re-installing my skyrim and this will be one of my first mods installed. I can't wait to try this! I shall be doing so much hunting >>
Nvm to much crap to go through I am better off without it. Maybe in the future there will be a simple spear mod with proper animations like this. One can only hope I guess.
Why not combine spears and javelins? And at the same time preventing double wielding. Just put the left hand as the aiming button. Press it and a spear changes from a mellee to a ranged weapon! That way you'd have less stuff cluttering the inventory!
Animations don't work unless you start a new game if anyone wants to know. (Never actually got it working, caused CTD on new game for some reason.)
Oh thanks for explaining that. I was confused why it looked like my character was swinging his spear like a sword
Lol
It does not work for my after I started a new game :/
MrSomebody77 Did you run Generate FNIS Behavior?
Welp. I've started several new games (for different reasons) and I'm still using a spear like a sword...
It's time to uninstall.
Here's a tip, and a spear behind it. A real man uses BOTH hands on his spear.
Awesome look to this video, are you using ENB in this one?
A mod I'd like to see be made is a character wheel like in GTA V where you could switch out between a few protagonists
Finally,spears!!
Polearms would definitely be a nice addition to Elder Scrolls 6. along with Musket Rifles and Flintlock Pistol style guns. If 6 takes another leap forward in time like Skyrim did from Oblivion (200 Years later) then I definitely think its feasible to have the makings for some early age Guns like Muskets and Flintlocks. Besides that Crossbows in the Original game aswell as Arrow/bolt/bullet making in the Original game (no waiting for DLC).
*YES!*
*YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
Thanks for the mod I'll check it out ;)
this is sparta play through
Its an awesome mod I've been waiting for for years, but I wished they'd change the normal attacks to stabs or slashes instead of the sword animations.
Skyrim combat needs to become more Mount and Blade-ish.
Wow, that's awesome.
I shall be King Leonidas.
I uust want my Morrowind Argonian. Here. We. Goooooeeessssssss.
In elder scrolls IV they will have three skill trees for warrior. Armor, weapons and smithing.
Judging by all the one shot kills going on in this video, as well as not dying to that orc with the hammer, I can safely assume you play on casual mode. Kappa.
So lets go over this.
1. it needlessly changes a body part.
2. 1st person animations don't work.
3. Leveled list conflicts a-hoy.
It's a cool looking mod, but i'll wait till it's finished.
I've been trying to get this damn mod to work for about two hours now.
Tables have been flipped.
