my dad was a basejumper!! watched him 180 like this and hit a cliff edge, should have broken his legs, he managed to kick off the rocks & steer the tangled parachute to the ground. still remember it like it was yesterday. terrifying.
Couldnt tell exactly what had happened, but it looked like he had a hung slider, and it kept his chute from fully opening up. It does look like he gets it pulled down into place, but couldnt recover from the spin that had started. BASE jumping there is no reserve chute, because you arent jumping from high enough to have the kind of time you need to jettison your main chute, and deploy the reserve, before you hit the ground. Unfortunately theres also not a whole lot of time to fix any malfunctions, like a hung slider. He did a pretty good job tho. He just barely managed to get enough of the chute open to slow him down enough to make a safe landing.
Why put yourself through this? Why? Why? It will make your loved ones sad for a very long time. Remember to ask yourself, "If you are ready?" "Are your loved ones ready?" Don't cause unnecessary pain for others.

I just avoided a similar situation by staying at my workbench and having an extra cup of coffee and a biscuit 👍🏼👍🏼🤓
Glad the OP survived, now follow my advice!
Huge amount of courage to accept his end. Glad he made it out alive and landed in deep snow. Base jumping not for those who wish to die, but for us who want to truly feel alive.
As nerve racking as it is to watch, nothing makes my palms sweat more than watching Alex Honnald free climbing El Cap. Now thats truly having complete belief in yourself.
Anyhoo, safe travels and happy jumping!
It's a fun way to die
Ya alex is a fuckin beast....the things he can do is fuckin unreal.
What is he gonna do? stop the fall?
That free fall was bloody ages, wow, , fair play, thank God he survived!!
You have to accept it! What a great lesson to those that have never experienced these type of moments.
I know right 😂
At the beginning you can hear an accent, I'm pretty sure they already knew Russian.
At this moment 0:43 he really says: “That’s it, getting ready for the hospital”
“Sing with me, sing for the year. Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear.”
As long as you have a Camera, nothing can hurt you. The law of the cameraman!
"Ready, Set, Go" half minute later "SUKA!" 😢🥵🥵🥵🥵 Was close man...
Suka = pitch
🇷🇺
SUKA = Bitch. A translation of a word SUKA
You didnt just land in that fluffy snow patch by chance. Happy bday ❤
Facts
Yes, there was some skill involved.

Did the chute fail by chance?
my dad was a basejumper!! watched him 180 like this and hit a cliff edge, should have broken his legs, he managed to kick off the rocks & steer the tangled parachute to the ground. still remember it like it was yesterday. terrifying.
Chill brother You are a Cameraman and whole Universe know that Cameraman Never Dies😂
😂
Honestly mad respect he said "im ready goodbye" and ended up living. What a man.
he said "nu vcje progotovilsja k bolnitze"
or roughly translating to "well i'm ready for the hospital"
Proof that the cameraman never dies...
Lol, the “happy birthday!” At the end…
Nicely landed a million miles from nowhere and right next to a 400 pound cat. Good luck you have fun with that
One of the realest things ive seen on the internet i was suspended in time watching this
life is too boring without people like him
Couldnt tell exactly what had happened, but it looked like he had a hung slider, and it kept his chute from fully opening up.
"Im ready, Bye." I hope I get that chance as well... Cheers man.
Why put yourself through this? Why? Why? It will make your loved ones sad for a very long time. Remember to ask yourself, "If you are ready?" "Are your loved ones ready?" Don't cause unnecessary pain for others.
"ready, set, go.... сука, сука!" Как прижало, сразу вспомнил великий и могучий 😅
Thank you.🙏🏼 you just helped decide that i will NEVER TRY THIS SHIT!!
))
You can still do this.. in VR 😂👍

He never stop trying to survive even after he say those last words… A real survivor with a bit of lucky of course
You are too brave dude , my legs started shaking with that view . I hope better for your next adventure ❤
Damn that last check in on the way out was crazy. What he must have been feeling was immense. Glad your alive dude!
Following this incident, Jim now takes the stairs on a morning.
Best example of Camera man never dies 🖐️🙂↕️
“All right…….who’s the wise guy who replaced my parachute with a backpack?”
Dude breaths. Captions - “wow”
Now that is a brave man. Stared down death and said I’m ready, bye. Born again. What a chad. I’m so impressed.
Absolutely insane, thats a miracle 🙌 🙏 👏 thank god you hit a snow patch instead of all the rock thats literally around you.
I’ve had a similar feeling.
While on my motorbike on the motorway an SUV pulled into my lane at the last second.
I fully accepted my fate at that point and said my goodbyes in that split second.
Thankfully, the car moved slightly to the left at the last moment and I moved slightly to the right. Avoiding a collision but nothing more than a few millimetres
