how could you add a potentiometer to calibrate brightness to different levels of input signal?
Can it be hooked up on speaker or amp???

I made this and it lights up without the aux cable being plugged in. I used a 123AP semiconductor but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I don’t exactly know how you soldered everything so I am unsure if I did it right.

Hay una diferencia entre vumetro a led y juego de luces. 1º EL VUMETRO hace escala cuando sube el volumen. Y el juego de luces bibra con el sonido. N O E S L O M I S M O . (EL GATO MONTES es un gato que anda en el monte,No es lo mismo a que te monte un gato.(Espero que te rías? que aceptes mi critica constructiva ? I believe this is just an on off switch? all LEDs in series an external power of 18 volts when the music plays it switches on the transistor like a relay lighting all leds simultaneously not a VU meter.the leds should ramp up and down on volume up and down true Vu meter.lets see a Schem.Please.jim

Arijit Ghosh Dostidar it depends on how many led u have used . For example in this video he used 6 led and each led works on 3v .if we multiply 6*3=18v .if u have 9v then use 3 led
