Kinda crazy how neuvilette couldn't properly block the narwhal one time when Childe was fighting it for like 40 days alone, I guess it's a good thing he sucker punched him when he tried to power up the first time.
This was a great way of showing the impact Childe has had on the story. Love how you talked about the different concepts he introduces or embodies. He's always been an extremely important character, and it's been a nice change to see that importance gradually being recognized thanks to his role in Fontaine. I think it's also worth noting that he might play a significant role in saving Teyvat as a whole. In the archive, his boss description is almost prophetic, and there's a line stating that he will "overturn the world". The full quote in and of itself is interesting, and seems to imply that the power he gained in the Abyss will be key to that. Overall, I think it's safe to say that we'll see a lot more of Childe in this second half of the Teyvat chapter, as well as things related to him in some way or another.
Childe has warlord vibes, war god vibes. Of course he doesn't care about any that gives him power as long as it does. Not all wars are for hatred some are for love and he has lot's of that for his family. That's the scary and awesome thing about childes VISION his vision is not just the object its integral to him his mentality surpasses a vision, witch is why he could give it away. If he can go in the abyss for his bloodlust he will, if he can go behind the fake sky? He will. If he can go anywhere in existence for power he will. So what is a mere gift from the gods ...a vision? But a tool he can discard when he can have a better one. And the best part? He is not malicious.
It would be nice if we got to see him in natlan. Ive gotten used to him just being everywhere and it would feel weird if he wasnt in the nation ruled by the god of war considering his love of fighting.
I personally think Childe is the biggest exemple of "Wrong place, wrong time" One of his drop material straight up say that his fate was modified by his action. Which I personally see this as, since he fell into the Abyss, and woke up the Narwhal, it caused his fate to go weee, instead of having a normal life
@@ItsJustT Have you checked out the third descender theory? This actually makes so much sense, given how important Childe is to the narrative. Hoyo once said he was a walking spoiler.
Big clue, I think, is the fact that he has a power called the Foul Legacy. Meaning it is possibly the Foul himself can not do. What he once could. Childe is his heir not by birthright but ,by selection. The code name of Childe also means "a youth of Noble birth." Though we know his biological family are ordinary people living in a small fishing village. Childe has also stated he has returned to the spot where the earth opened up to swallow him only to find no trace of it. No weaked earth or sunken ground. Which again would suggest whatever the Foul is wanted him specifically and senf Skirk there to collect and begin his training. Childe being given to the Fatui by his biological family may have put a small snag in this greater beings plan. None the less his protégé was being honed on the battlefield. Skirk statements would imply that it was not yet time for her to reunite with Childe. So what is the catyliist they are waiting for. Is it possible the Foul is a part of the primordial god that the name Genshin refers to.
Childe is a madlad for sure since he awaken the Narwal in the abyss and we see that the Narwal can zip between the realm through the abyss he must be fight that thing for far longer than 40 days considering that time in the abyss is different from the time in Teyvet. He himself even said that he was training with his master for 3 months in the abyss but when he got out only 3 days has pass. Childe is pretty durable for him that fight the narwal for that ling in his foul legecay form.
Tbf I don’t think Childe necessarily intended to protect Fontaine. He always wanted to fight the creature he saw in the abyss in his voicelines so it’s likely tht his goal and ours just aligned for a moment. And I don’t know if he’d be too mad about being used in Fontaine since Harbingers using each other is pretty typical.
I think you're right about the first part. At least, to an extent. I will say though, the one thing not gunning for that theory of him just wanting to fight is that part I talked about where he brings his arm out for help and then falls back into the abyss. I really feel like he was tryna help at least somebody in that whole Cutscene with the harbinger thing you aren't wrong, but Scaramouche was clearly mad about it, so perhaps Childe could be as well. They're the two main fleshed out harbingers after all
Weirdly enough, with the exception of Mondstadt and Sumeru, Childe showed up in Liyue, Inazuma, and Fontaine which is kinda impressive not only for a fatui harbinger but also for a character of Genshin. Granted tho, that his presence in Inazuma was limited to some quests and random events here and there. I am actually hoping we get to see more of him in the next regions too particularly Sneznaya. Also hoping we could get a stronger version of Childe or a fatui skin in the future
Tbh I’ve always thought the reason that Childe’s quest to be the strongest person in Teyvat is motivated by his drive to be able to protect his siblings. Obviously he knows there are many apocalyptic threats that face Teyvat. If he can become extremely strong he can protect his siblings. Also we know that when Childe orginally fell into the abyss, he was gone for 3 Teyvat days, which was 3 months in the abyss. That means if he was fighting the whale for 45 Teyvat days in the abyss, he was actually there for 3.75 years.
i agree completely with everything you just said, but I feel like the sibling thing is more of a cherry on top. Childe came back as chaotic as ever once he returned from the abyss and his drive to be stronger can be derived from that and Skirk. If he only wanted to protect his siblings, he would've before that event aswell. The abyss caused his chaos and his care for his family maintained it ig

I think... His story is about discovering the true heart of Sheznaya. I would not be surprized if he is going to be the next cryo archon... Even though cryo is not his element. He is all about showing that under the ice, there is a warm heart
@@ItsJustT Not wrong. He's clearly not ready to settle down or anything like that, but... it fits his role in the story so far. he's been our little window into the true heart of Sheznaya, hidden under the ice, suppressed for the Tzariza's rebellion against the divine. Either we need to thaw a frozen heart, or we need to put a kinder soul in the seat... And if the latter happens, Childe would not be a bad choice, but not the most likely choice either.

most of them will appear in Snezhnaya. Arlecchino says in the winter nights lazzo trailer that most of them stay in the comfort of their home nations while Signora died in a foreign land, that being the banker, pulcinella and pierro. Also sandrone
Just a note, Arlecchino was already going to Fontaine (the Children of the House of Hearth already mentioned Father was coming home in Act I). But it is true that Arlecchino was able to get an audience with Furina by using Childe.
I don't know if Arlecchino would be relevant to the storyline though, since yeah, as you said, Arlecchino wouldn't have an audience. It would most likely be for personal reasons or something irrelevant to the Traveler if not for Childe
@@ItsJustT I think Childe gave her an easier in, but to be honest, she was acquainting herself with Navia without the Traveler's knowledge and could have been introduced to the Traveler even without Neuvillette's favor. But yes, things definitely would have played out differently if Childe wasn't in the sea to pet-sit for a while. XD
@@yundorphinlmao, I thought alot before mentioning Neuv, but it could have to do partially with the Traveler already being there. I've got no real proof, but I do thing it could of altered the change of events a bit - if they did have an emergency plan, Wrio wouldn't of asked the Traveler to go get him after all. Just a hunch tho
The reason why Arlecchino came to Fontaine is because of the gnosis and not for Childe. She said that Childe gave her an opening to put pressure on Neuvillette and Furina.
yes I've been corrected on this. I do think Childe giving her an opening is just as important as her coming in the first place though, since she couldve been a very different force otherwise
I personally think the reason childe saves the people is because he realizes that, killing those people wasn’t his job (if anyones) and there was something WAY more important. i wish i played him more often because he’s such a cool character!!
@@ItsJustT It’s something about Childe being summoned into the abyss and rebirth as a holy infant. And this is what the note says: "IO, Io, Pan! That which lies beneath the great sea!" The purpose of this line in the ritual scripture is to forsake the self and sink into the abyss, and in the abyss, to welcome rebirth as a holy infant. The origin of this is a tragedy of unknown provenance that has been passed down by persons unknown to this day. Said play is called "Ajax," or "Aias." He was the second-strongest warrior in his alliance. "Lies beneath the great sea" is, itself, an interesting phrase. It comes from ancient Sumeru texts, and should be read as "Narayana," which also means "primordial human." This, too, is my goal, for not all that comes from beyond may be as one that "descends." That title belongs only to wills that can rival an entire world. That is what I seek, the way to become just such a will, one that can protect the world, sustain the world, destroy the world, and create the world.

Wanderer, is the lynchpin of the game. He was in Monstadt, Imazuma, and Sumeru. (So far.) He is the 6th (middle Harbinger), in the middle of the game, and he is the ONLY person (including all archons) who gives Lumine any information on her brother. In Sumaru, he tells Lumine the Jester told him, her brother lived with the Jester when the Jester was a royal Madge in King Irmin’s Court, prior to the cataclysm and the downfall of Khaenri’ah. This happens before Wanderer enters Irminsul as Scaramouche. Wanderer also tells Lumine he has met her before and that he does not know when she entered Khaenri’ah or when she left. Very very key information, because it pushes the story forward. Also though the Wanderer has only been in Mondstadt, Imazuma, and Sumeru, he is not done in the storyline! He still has to have his dealings with El Docttore finalized. Wanderer’s story is far from over. If anything both Wanderer and Childe are equally important, if the Wanderer is actually not a bit more important as he does offer more actual knowledge that no one else is able to offer.
Childe is one big fat walking death flag. It is VERY likely he will die either in Shneznaya or in whatever will come after Shneznaya, be it Abyss or Khaenri'ah, and it will be most likely because he will try to protect his family. Actually, Neuvillette was already on the way even when Traveler was going to get him. His connection to the sea probably allowed him to sense when it was surging upwards.
Im halfway through the video and i may be exxegerating but this is one of the best videos ive seen+you have a calming voice
Big beefy Nawrhal
thank you thank you ♥️♥️♥️
The reason why Arlecchino came to Fontaine is because of the gnosis and not for Childe. She said that Childe gave her an opening to put pressure on Neuvillette and Furina.
yes I've been corrected on this. I do think Childe giving her an opening is just as important as her coming in the first place though, since she couldve been a very different force otherwise
Bro I was in pain listening to this there’s good content here but I would definitely re-record this when you’re feeling better
think it's a little late to re record this specific video, but I will of course feel better in future videos. ♥️
I personally think the reason childe saves the people is because he realizes that, killing those people wasn’t his job (if anyones) and there was something WAY more important. i wish i played him more often because he’s such a cool character!!
na gingerlad was just having a friendly spar with the big beefy narwaal lmao
totally bro. That's why he was like almost dead at the end, got too immersed in his sparring sesh
@@ItsJustT bro needs to chill 🤣
@@AnalogOtaku fr gonna get off the game
Have you seen the new Ajax note in the 4.2 open world quest? It has a huge lore about Childe
nope 💀 I'm not too deep into the lore outside of well known stuff and archon quests. What is it?
@@ItsJustT It’s something about Childe being summoned into the abyss and rebirth as a holy infant. And this is what the note says:
"IO, Io, Pan! That which lies beneath the great sea!"
The purpose of this line in the ritual scripture is to forsake the self and sink into the abyss, and in the abyss, to welcome rebirth as a holy infant.
The origin of this is a tragedy of unknown provenance that has been passed down by persons unknown to this day. Said play is called "Ajax," or "Aias." He was the second-strongest warrior in his alliance.
"Lies beneath the great sea" is, itself, an interesting phrase. It comes from ancient Sumeru texts, and should be read as "Narayana," which also means "primordial human."
This, too, is my goal, for not all that comes from beyond may be as one that "descends." That title belongs only to wills that can rival an entire world.
That is what I seek, the way to become just such a will, one that can protect the world, sustain the world, destroy the world, and create the world.
@@havocaeli I think my brain is too small to properly comprehend this information. But, he sounds very important and sounds like there's some intentions behind his visit to the abyss
Big beefy narwahl! I love childe I wish they put his vision as a playable content 😭😭😭
One thing I'e gotte say about the editing: In-game subtitles and your subtitles overlapping hurts my eyes. You might want to test adding them as youtube subtitles, because the black background would make them less visually disturbing.
I'll see if I can add a text background or put a slight fade beneath them because I really like the font of them lol
@@ItsJustTI like the font too, background might be a good idea.
@@Gnidel 👍👍
I think he is gonna die in front of his bro teucer, since their names are inspered of a story that this happened
possible. Though he's playable so idrk
childe might just be related to the 3rd decender
That's what some are suggesting yes
Ive made a video on the whole of the Fatui, just so you all know!
th-cam.com/video/uOM6JCY4T4Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lnImITBblLEJo_oa
One theory I really like is that he is the reincarnated 3rd descender, and it has a lot of strong supports for this theory
Lol it's so simple. Childe will do anything for his family. He will sacrifice himself to save both the traveler and his family from the Cryo archon and Futui.
but he also praises the cryo archon and admires the fatui
Watching these videos makes me wish I played Genshin.
I only started playing again a month or so ago so it's okay
I mean. You can start anytime :)
I dont think Big P is gunna be a homie after 4.6, just coming in from the future lol
Not big P 🥺

Childe 4 life!!
🔥🔥🔥!!
Slight correction: Childe does a personal musical theme, although I'm pretty sure it doesn't appear in game, only in his trailer - A Letter From Ajax
oh, I'm aware of that. I meant that he has no unique music theme within his in game OSTs, which contradicts the other harbingers (lesser so scaramouche as he has some sort of motif for the wanderer but it appears in his interlude quest)
@@ItsJustTThere's also motif in the Cutscene where the whale appears in Court that's used in his 3rd Phase Boss theme, tho I'm leaning more on it being the Narwhal's Theme
@@hayond656 possibly both. It plays once he appears and fights the narwhal I believe so
@@ItsJustT No I'm talking about this part here 10:04 - 10:15 it's used as the beginning of Childe's 3rd phase Boss theme "Wrath of Monoceros Caeli" that's why I said I'm leaning more into it being more Narwhal than Childe
@@hayond656 ah, I see. It's possible that part of his boss theme correlates with the Narwhal because alot of his worth correlates with how he awakened it, and the Fatui beat drop represents that's his motif, but no idea lol
Big beefy narwhal xd
Childe may be a good boi who's trapped within the Fatui organisation....
Also Ed Sheeran and big beefy narwhal lol
hitting all the comments 🔥🔥
big beef y narhwal
Ed Sheeran annoyingly lovable ginger damn him
Imagine this character will die soon in the story in game so the traveler will become much stronger.
making a video on a similar idea. Very possible
Well Childe is my 2nd fav Hydro character for a good reason.
In fact I like every Harbinger except La Signora.
that statement is fully me in a nutshell. Signora mid
@ItsJustT She would've been so much better if Genshin allowed us to have an in depth character exploration of her. But what we got was her getting Ashed and a backstory on a artifact set instead.
That's why I find her mid.....
@@javelinmaster2 yeah. Her existing character is just being bad for being bad imo

I think childe is the reincarnation of 3rd decender, I don't have a theory just wishful thinking.
nah I getchu. I don't know how it would work, but it would be cool
If anything both Wanderer and Childe are equally important, if the Wanderer is actually not a bit more important as he does offer more actual knowledge that no one else is able to offer.
big beefy narwhal hehehe
Ed Sheeran
Edit: big beefy narwhal 9:57
How many days childe fight against the whale 🐋 in fontain ?
atleast over 10 or 20 I think
@@ItsJustT around 40 if he had started fighting it soon after escaping
Ed Sheeran
Childe is one big fat walking death flag. It is VERY likely he will die either in Shneznaya or in whatever will come after Shneznaya, be it Abyss or Khaenri'ah, and it will be most likely because he will try to protect his family. I mean, Mihoyo does it very rarely, but is not afraid to kill playable characters if their death would make a sufficient impact... I mean, if you played HI you know what I am talking about :')
LOL what a coincidence. I was just doing Childe's quest yesterday before going to sleep. The one where he is lying to those 3 guys that he is selling toys to impress his little brother.
lmfao yeah the story quest. Childe is real goofy sometimes
He wasn't trying to save anyone lol he was just fighting
he atleast saved people in the process 👍
He did. He specifically aimed for its chin
