Of course he didn't want to be the way he was,
Its the same with any addiction
People who are addicted to food don't want to be fat,
People who are addicted to smoking don't want to get lung cancer,
Addiction is the worst of anything and much more research needs to go into solving why people get addicted
For everyone's sake future generations our children grandchildren etc etc,
    More research,

Nick gerz, thats true. He did admitt he liked drinking and loved getting drunk. Wich is obvious and i love it as well or we wouldnt do it. Its kind of mad and a bit funny when thousands of people the world over who are clearly stupid and void of reality that asked people like george best and other famous people "why do you drink so much" or even "why do you drink" a mean what did they expect george to say back to them "eh i drink becouse i hate the stuff, totaly cant stand it" lol. A mean get real. Ffs Just ask yourself why you like a certain drink wich every body does or we would die. If we didnt drink any fluid for 4 weeks then its hard to believe we die? It may be longer but not much longer, we die in 4 to 5 weeks if we dont eat. And its crazy to think that 4 weeks is not long at all, and the goverment expect people to go 8 weeks with no food when they stop there money, so they are killing people all the time, its just coverd up well becouse they run the bbc and the goverment wont allow proggrames about that to be shown. But i thought george seemend a really nice guy. He did alot of good in raising alot of money for charitys when he could have been earning alot of money and for years and years but the press didnt show that side of george. It was just when he did wrong. But he did far more good than he did wrong thats why he was always a star becouse the bbc knew the true george best and the pundits that worked for them knew george all to well. If he was as bad as the press always made out do you think he would still be a superstar 30 years after he played football? Of course not. Plus he donated lots of his own money. Wich other sportsman from the 1960s do ye know did that also???

Of course he was an alcoholic, even after a liver transplant he went back on the booze, a sad character who gave his life away to drink because he lacked self discipline - like so many others...........

Barry 648, they changend his liver not his brain. First of all the addiction starts with the brain craving alcohol, so changing his liver is just the same as taking his arm off and putting another knew arm back on. Mentaly george hadent changend so his craving for drink doesnt change forever. Its sad but so true. And the abuse he got for drincking again from nomads that havent a clue about the condition and illness. There arent many alcoholics who are just as nice drunck the same way they are sober. And no wonder george turnend nasty with all that mud thrown at him every day in the press. And alex is still trying to make money living off his name. And so does angie best too, calums mum. She has did it for 40 years now but a thinck shes run her course now and had done maybe 15 years ago. Calum is the same. But a believe it was george that put calum on his feet when calum came over to the uk to stay for good and with his mother angie too. And george got him involved with model agencys that paid alot of money then calum was up for anything that paid. After shave, and all that stuff wich made him alot alot of money. Tbh when calum was age 16 a thinck him and his mum needed georges help money wise. Becouse calum couldnt play football. But when i was growing up that angie was always selling storys to any news paper about george and it wasnt nice to read, a dont know how george could look at her she is a pure predator.

The self discipline thing again. I spent my 20s as a competitive bodybuilder eating 7 meals and day and training 5 times a week, sometimes twice a day. Went through some awful times and became an alcoholic, its an chemical addiction, its not about discipline. I promise you i spent a decade of my life a hell of a lot more disciplined than you and still suffered through this. I found help in the end and im sober now but i just pray it never takes hold of you because your opinion will DRASTICALLY change mate.

Sam, becouse shes struggling with out georges money and she did have it easy, george has never been skint, he has been ripped off by loads of agents and other men in grey suits but george never made a big deal of it. He had money tied up as well. And after he died alex started going out with an agent who had a load of money but was meant to be dodgy, howard krugel his name was and he was 20 years at least older than her, suprise suprise, and when women use men for what ever reason and clearly dont love them it starts to show after a few years if that, becouse they have to give something back and howard kruger would have seen right through alex best. He said when she told me she wanted to keep georges name even though divorced it didnt shock me at all. But most women just age very quickley becouse there sleeping with a man they dont even love or fancy and it does wear them down as every day and night they have to put on an act. Then some after so long just cant keep it up so they just explode into a huge argument and it can be shocking to hear them call there lover all the names under the sun and wanting to kill them and it goes on all day, a was in a house when a saw it happen as the women tried to sleep with me the night before while he was in the bath. She was by now a horror and walking virus. So after 20 minutes a just said al leave yous two to sort it out. Then got away quickly. The guy didnt do anything to deserve the abuse i know she did it becouse she wanted to come out with me so she started a huge argument out of nothing or some thing that happend two weeks before, i knew strait away this happend alot as you can tell with the words they choose but she picked the guy to go out with then its a want some 1 else. Well that wasnt going to be me. I felt sorry for him. Women just love money.
