Miguel Brierley this isn’t just any regular harp :) She plays a classic pedal harp from Camac but it’s one of their most famous models that’s electro acoustic. So you can plug it into an amp and run it through a pedal chain like you would a guitar. I do the same with my lever harp and it’s so fun. I definitely recommend looking into more of her videos if you haven’t already.

I play flute through my pedal rig and guitar amp. It loves a little dirt, delays and reverbs, but not so much modulation. That harp sounds amazing with the modulated effects. One of our Fiddle Players goes through wah and pedal stuff too. Love to hear about Lara's pickups and preamps. Great video! Love this stuff.

Who knew a harp had foot pedals like a piano?!?! So many questions! How heavy is that thing? How big a vehicle do you need to transport it? What’s the signal chain from the harp to the board/amp? Fascinating!
Those pedals aren’t quite like a piano, they don’t control sustain. Notice the red and black strings, the strings are diatonic, not chromatic, the pedals access the black keys, her sharp and flat notes.
Harps have seven strings, repeated across octaves, tuned DCBEFGA. Pedals arranged DCB and EFGA, with three positions - sharp, flat, natural - that are linked to every corresponding string, so Eb makes all E strings across the octaves flat. Flat notes have the most resonance and purest sound, because the pedals are in the "off" position and the strings aren't wound over their pegs as they are for naturals and sharps. Flat notes are essentially open strings, naturals and sharps are like fretting a guitar. Harps are wankers to compose for, thanks to all these idiosyncrasies.
Tamara Bär Well never try to emulate someone but definitely be inspired! You can do whatever you set your mind to and I highly recommend getting into the harp (even if you don’t use effects like myself or Lara) as it’s a great discipline and you can open up so many doors for yourself. It’s a great hobby but not an easy thing to make a career with unless you know how to stand out.

What amp would you recommend for playing the harp amplified both clean and with effects? The pedals a great and I have several. But I don't know what amp to buy. That is actually incredibly cool. I never would have thought of that. And I have absolutely no idea how much harps cost but that thing looks friction expensive.
