Exactly i dont like yumna's character at all. Why is she so preachy there is nothing so great about her that three people fell in love with her like that. Doesn't make sense.
Sajal deserves special mention for her effortless portrayal of a young rural woman, conveying immense conviction through her body language and subtle nuances.

ZPKB is a very well written and directed story. Credit goes to Saife Hassan sir . He takes you to that place he wants . Shooting in village particularly is tough , but that what the audience want - natural , realistic and nuanced.And a huge Shoutout for Sajal .

Gentleman. I find it so annoying that they are using Bollywood lingo heavily. ‘Bolay to’ and ‘karnay ka, janay ka, bolnay ka’. Etc. Looks like the writer is inspired by Indian films. Not impressed. Why could they not use the Karachi slangs? Would’ve been much more enjoyable.
I agree. There is a scene in first episode where Yumna refers to rickshaw as 'auto'. Nobody calls a rickshaw, auto in Karachi. This is pretty common in India though

ZPKB has truly exceeeded expectations. It was a given that it would be a good drama on social issues, but to see it being delivered in such an entertaining and effective way is a delight. And Sajal is truly phenomenal. She is meenu n you dont see Sajal anywhere . What a departure from her previous outing. Kuch Ankhahi . Though both are based on social issues, there is adorable father daughter bond and progressive thought process with a touch of humor. The acting and execution are so different. What a versatile actress. Mindblowing
ZPKB: I loved the drama. It’s the best of the week. The progressiveness of the moulvi is refreshing since they are usually shown to be negative and against family planning while this moulvi is in support. It’s addressed so beautifully with humour and sensitivity. Sajal’s track is also beautifully integrated with how natural she is and looks. Kudos to Mustafa Afridi. She isn’t wearing new clothes rather she is still wearing what she had worn the previous episode with baandhay hoye baal, and her natural appearance. She is absolutely brilliant. The director has urilized the environment in his drama so beautifully.
I think its not character its the actor sajal too had lesson speach kind of dialogues which didn’t feel preachy at all on the other hand zarnab shows up on screen and u know she will be over preachy

I find Gentleman’s main problem to be its lack of world-building. The world of gundas and goons seems too derivative of Bollywood films. The language looks like Munna bhai. The director should have focused on establishing the lingo, their work and their environment since it’s relatively new for Pakistani setting while we are accustomed to it in Bollywood films. Zarnab is annoying with her preachy speeches on patriotism and authenticity. I think where we always criticise love at first sight, Munna’s infatuation should also be questioned since he has only interacted with her twice and that too violent. I still have high hopes since both KRQ and Umera Ahmed’s drama take a while to take off and when they do, the drama becomes a joy

Zard Patton Ka Bunn - The second episode of #ZPKB is once again a breath of fresh air. Sajal perfectly embodies the character of Meenu - she's lively and cheerful, and her bond with her father is absolutely delightful.
The bgm (Padh Naa Jaye Ladki) conveyed the show's essence. Though her brothers oppose her education and have toxic personalities, the humor balances it well. The scene where their father stops them from forcefully marrying off Meenu was a highlight for me.
I absolutely loved the scenes where Maulvi Sahab and Meenu's friend bring sweets to congratulate her on topping her exams. Meenu's determination to continue her studies and get into medical college is truly admirable.
Additionally, I enjoyed the scene where Maulvi Sahab gathered all the youngsters in the village for a family planning discussion. As for Dr. Sidra's involvement in the patient's death, I hope this sequence concludes soon and Dr. Nofil's arc progresses further
Hassan, you need to lower your tone when the other person has a different point. You try to put your point across by raising your voice. That isn’t pleasant. Hope you take this feedback with a pinch of sugar! 🫶🏼

Loved Marwas role in sabaat that is true Feminism. Infeel Hassan is a Yumna fan so hes biased. Altho I like Yumna too but recently shes been very ott even in Tere Bin
I have been a huge fan of Yumna,but she really disappointed in tere bin and unfortunately Zarnab is a poorly written character and yumna is performing it poorly.

Completely agree with aamna on zarnab! First of all she is getting into the preachy zone which I dreaded! Secondly the confidence she has to kick off the channel heads and speak her mind it is unreal because her lifestyle and stature isn't matching to that.
That confidence can only come when she has that public appeal in that case she would have been a household name and a renowed journalist which she isn't she lives in the same locality munna visits. So there should have been a boundary to her righteousness also understanding how in reality things work given the fact shes engaged to a police officer!

I agree with Amina. Zainab doesn’t fit in at all with the story. It’s a bit over board character. In real life which girl will get out of her house walk the street after hearing gun shots and confront a thug. And then slap him ?! It’s a bit too much. Always Yumna over acts. Remember an independent and strong woman doesn’t have to be rude and and over. What a wrong portrayal of a strong woman.
Zarmaab character is really preachy and unrealistic ❤ and Munna falling for such a girl in one meeting is not digestible 😬

The Slap was so wrong! Even if she knew Iqbal Munna from before but a girl should not be slapping a Gunda with a gun like this cause in reality it would not go well for her. We need to see some reality and relatable behavior from the characters.
So far Gentleman is an ok watch, Zard Patton ka Bunn is far more engaging and interesting.

Hassan, tens of thousands of children die of thirst, hunger, lack of medication (due to lack of funds) etc every year. Think about why that happens. We have somehow equated Allah taking responsibility for risq to mean risq is guaranteed for all. It isn't.

Exactly 💯. Hassan has already given the disclaimer that it's different than a husband slapping his wife . While it's different but whatever the relationship bwtn two people involved in a slap scene, it can not be justified without a valid reason. Specially the scene had nothing to do with her. She walks out of her house and sees him firing and slaps. Who is she protecting here . The person lying on the ground is also a goon . Does she know? Did she find out . If she is against all goons, which she goes on clamoring about even on camera, why be selective in her judgment, or worse being a journalist, she doesn't bother getting into the core of the matter and gets into physical attacks. Very bad writing and execution

The episode's highlight, the slap scene. I felt it was somewhat out of place and questioned its relevance. Even if the slap scene was included, I found its abrupt editing lacking immediate reactions or any sense of closure.
Zard Pattto ka bann is a perfect example of how a strong woman should be portrayed. Like Aamna says, most of the times drama makers dont know where to draw the line and usually go overboard.

I completely agree with you. I was so looking forward to Gentleman but Yumna's acting is putting me off. It feels too OTT and too much like Tum Bin acting. The way she portrays so fearless, if it was another bhai, she'd pay for her words and actions straightaway. I'm enjoying and loving ZPKB way more right now.

The Bhabhi’s character in Jaanisar is completely intolerable and unbelievable. She got married immediately after her iddat and she has absolutely no reason to be so happy and so all over her brother-in-law, without any rhyme or reason. Please start writing believable characters and people who play these roles should also raise these questions. Don’t assume that your audience is completely dumb.
Coming over to Gentleman - Again not believable characters. Kaun ladki bhai logon ko thappad pe thappad lagati rehti hai beech sadak par, especially in our part of our world? And Iqbal Munna falling in love with Zarnaab because he keeps getting slapped in public? What in the world is happening?
Hope I’m proved wrong, but Gentleman is coming across as a Tere Bin rerun, with a mafia background.Will be so disappointing if it turns into a toxic love-hate saga in the end.

Yumna gave a strong performance in the office scene, but I found Zarnab's character to be rather impulsive. (dialogue delivery in that scene could be polished a bit). The scene between Faris and Zarnab was particularly charming and adorable.

P.S. I didn't like Zarnab slapping Munna, especially after he said sorry to her. And btw, the way he said sorry, was so adorable.
Him saying sorry and she slapping him happened in a split of second. Munna was going to say sorry by that time zarnab ka haath uth chuka tha. Mujhe Aisa laga episode dekh ke. That's why zarnab thinks about that scene again and again afterwards.

If you notice or remember Nosherwan's brother got shot by someone, why the writer/director didn't showed that what happened next as the family is shown full powerful people so haven't they tried to find who killed his elder brother??
This is bit weird that how Kashmala who is Nosherwan's wife has no emotions for the father of her kids, she just desperately wants Nosherwan's attention and love. Sometimes I feel she might have got her husband killed.

How everyone here is cribbing about how far from reality Gentleman is is pretty laughable…who cares? It’s a highly enjoyable drama with the strongest intrigue factor out of all the dramas out there…Yumna is an amazing actress and has nailed every emotion that Zarnab needs to portray brilliantly…you want realism or you want life lessons, maybe some of you should read a book instead…I’m here for the entertainment factor and that’s what gentleman is all about…

Gentleman: Below par n if it's a love story, it's highly unconvincing. But totally agree with Aamna that Humayun is so measured yet his portrayal of a don is so convincing. He plays it his way and doesnt have a stereotype. His expressions dialogue delivery body language everything is on point
Zarnab though . 😢 too bad that drama makers dont have any idea about how strong women are like. Being arrogant rude loud impulsive indulging in physical attacks don't make a strong woman. She has been portraying every role the same way. There is hardly any difference between Zarnab and Meerab . Even their names rhyme 😄
As a Indian viewer ..i would like to say that the lyrics of "Zard patton k bunn" is more likely translated in Indian manner like "pdh" and "bdh"..In hindi language when we say pdh "पढ"..the initial sound of dh "ढ" is "d" ..not "r" like in Urdu

Humayun has expressive eyes and voice. His body language also match with his character and playing great as Gentleman. Yarnab character is overdone at points but I hope then she stays strong though out the show. Thappad scene was unnecessary. She could have scolded him for creating unrest in the neighborhood. Street gunda would have slapped her back or insulted her. Like Amna said why Zarnab would be so bold even on Street while she has no support for her own protection. Good watch though. Love OST
