The best part of Laptaa ladies was that Phool’s husband Deepak never lost his trust and faith in her! Never thought OMG, raat bar wapis nahi ayi tu meri Izzat kharab hogye! Even his family never thought that way!
PHOOL (flower) PUSHPA (flower) Deepak's village: SOORAJMUKHI (A flower) The bus Deepak takes to his village: PUSHPA TRAVELS (Flower) Flower: A symbol of tenderness, innocence or purity. This symbol of innocence and purity is spread throughout the village life in the film. Phool's husband: DEEPAK (lamp/ a source of light) Pushpa's husband: PRADEEP (lamp/ a source of light) A lamp can either guide you through darkness or it can burn you. Deepak is a guiding force, a ray of hope for both Phool and Pushpa in their darkest times. While Pradeep burnt his ex-wife to death. (One lamp showed the way, the other burnt down a life) Pushpa's real name: JAYA (victorious) Jaya is a rebel at heart. But, because of the social and gender expectations, she is forced to be soft, and tender like a flower (PUSHPA). Jaya especially mentions the dish made of lotus stems. She consumes a dish made of flowers (Kamal Kakdi). She symbolically consumes her tenderness her softness, and the flowery side of her character. She rebels against the social norms and expectations such as taking her husband's name and running away from her marriage to pursue her education. She strives to be VICTORIOUS. Name of the police officer: SHYAM MANOHAR SHYAM: Dark, Black (one name of Lord Krishna) MANOHAR: Lovable, one who wins our heart (another name of Lord Krishna) In the first part of the movie Shyam Manohar is shown as corrupt, and a greedy officer. Showing the dark side of his character. Thus, he is SHYAM. In the second half, Shyam Manohar wins our hearts by taking the right step by saving Jaya from her husband. Thus, he becomes MANOHAR. This shows the dual nature of power and judiciary. It can be dark and mischievous but it can also be very beautiful. These are some interesting things I observed after watching the film. This is a purely subjective observation and can vary from person to person. A story based on 2001 time period and the movie raise issue of 2024 village problem of India.
Beautiful observations. I feel sad that even after 23 years many of us can relate to this movie. I just hope the feeling is nostalgic to most. Thanks again for describing the name and its relation to each character.
Exellent narration(inner meaning) explaining the movie. Sincerely i haven't thought in that way. Good, very good, i have also seen the movie 3 times in TH-cam & enjoyed thoroughly trying to find out any missing link or unnecessary shots taken but I didn't find not a single frame which were unnecessarily kept in the movie. Except the shot where Dipak frantically comes to the Murti Station along with his friends to find his wife Ful, while entering the Station the platform was not very crowded, but when they decided to go to Patela Station after knowing that the next train to Patela will be during evening, they decided to catch a bus which goes to Patela Dipak was the last while rushing from Station suddenly Dipak heard a faint lady voice calling his name ( that was the first & may be last time Ful uttered loudly her husband's name) Dipak stared looking for who is calling him. During that time platform was shown very crowded. Which was not that crowded actually. Although it was not a big mistake because we also sometime expect a emotional Réunion.
Yes one cricket match between India & Australia was going on & the commentary was being aired which was heard in transistor naming Harbhajan Singh & Ricky Ponting
@@mrityunjoybhattacharya8907 People say this movie about women empowerment , dowry, girl education, domestic violence, Village coustom etc but I think a movie about a true love of husband and wife.

Hiran@ pakxtanis are way behind of Indians and Indian cinema. Pakxtanis on one hand abuse Indians as k@afirs and on other hand dying to work in Indian cinema. They are just hypocrites
41:10 Reg Laapata Ladies, the story is set in 2001 which is mentioned in opening credits. The phone model is old, Ravi Kishan's character takes pictures with a roll camera, policemen communicate via fax and the train coaches were made to look like the old models in India as they have changed significantly in past 20 years.
Completely resonating with aamna on Laapata ladies. We have become so habituated to witness the worst from characters in movies, to the point where we no longer expect a kind/good-hearted/pure gesture from characters in the first place. LL was such a breath of fresh air, such a feel-good watch. Left me with a restored faith in the goodness of society.
Pakistani people often compare India's worst content to their best. However, the reality is that both countries have their own unique qualities, and we don't need to compare anyone to anyone else. Instead, we can simply enjoy what we like, and if we don't like something, we can choose not to watch it. Let's avoid making unfair assumptions and focus on appreciating our own strengths. We are capable of greatness in our own ways.
That's been the issue always, their delusion. Most Pakistanis take the best they produce and then compare it with the worst India has offered. The sample size is always too small. For example last yr I was in London, Pasoori had gone viral and few Pakistani colleagues kept arguing on that basis how Pakistani music and artists are far superior and Indian artist are only famous because of India' population. These were highly educated pakistani people and yet they were making some absurd arguments, comparing people like Rahat Fateh Ali with Badshah, Ali Sethi with Tony Kakkar etc because apparently Badshah and Tony Kakkar represent Indian music for them. They said Fawad khan was sent back because he was getting more popular than SRK, Ranbir, Ranveer etc. I tried to disagree but realised soon enough that nothing I would say can change their opinion. Similar things with Dramas and actors. Comparing good Pakistani Drama actors with ekta Kapoor's serials, not realising that no good actor in India wants to do tv drama because there is too little scope for acting. See the work of the same actors when they work in a webseries. No doubt Pakistan has some great artist and I would even say that their work is far more appreciated in India than it is in Pakistan, whether it is Pasoori, Pakistani dramas or young stunners, all had their golden moment after their recognition from the Indian audience. The Indian industry is just too big, too diverse and too distributed to compare. You will find each and every type of content, in so many languages, all good in their own category, serving to a group of audience.
Pakistaniyo ke paas koi film produce to Kar nhi paa Rahi hai sare Pakistani dekhenge India ki hi movie uper se sare baith Kar vishesagya bhi banenge ..fool mind hai .pahle apni film industry dhnag see khadi Kar lo fir Pakistaniyo baat Kar Lena.🤪🤪🤪
@@a141tho2 @RoarMaddy The Indian media and entertainment industry is valued at US$26 billion. Pakistan is at US$14 million. That is the material point. There is no competition or comparison. There is no need for Pakistani actors or artists in India - music or films or whatever - as anything other than "tokens" or talking points; media fodder basically! Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are exceptions - they are appreciated but neither obsessed over or revered! But everyone else is replaceable. I am sorry that it is the state of affairs but that is the reality. Sooner Pakistanis recover from any delusions in this matter, the faster they can progress (if that is the desire)!
Well, I must admit, this movie took me completely by surprise, in the best way possible. Other than a small clip I saw of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao talking about casting, I had not heard anything about it. Then, on a lazy Sunday last week, while casually browsing Netflix, I stumbled upon its thumbnail. Remembering that clip, I figured I'd give it a shot. Started watching it without any expectations, but man, was I hooked! The story just reels you in, and before I knew it, I was glued to the screen till the credits rolled. Every aspect, from the plot to the storytelling to the performances, was remarkable. It's definitely a movie worth recommending to anyone looking for something good to watch!
Laapataa Ladies!!! Its a commendable film. Kiran Rao and her cast have done such a fabulous job. Saw it in the theatre and I would watch it again any day.
Heeramandi is a crashing bore…what an anticlimax! Laapata Ladies has shown that a movie can hit you in all the right places without huge budgets and manicured sets. Kiran Rao trumps Bhansali…and how😊
Very well said Hassan. Why should people doubt a claim by any artist? Those artists are all highly accomplished, renowned people, much more successful than those who troll them. Perhaps it's their own complex and narrow vision that makes them skeptical?I enjoyed Heeera Mandi for its artistic value, magestic sets, lavish dresses, sensuous acting , dances and melodious songs.
India also used to take help of France and Russia to launch its satellites. Difference is that this was in 60s and 70s. Then we developed our own rockets.
Lapatta Ladies is an extra ordinate movie. Just loved the concept and how they focus on change. One has to work & move towards this kind of cinema which is progressive and so well done!
Lapata Ladies has a beautiful story, excellent direction, and outstanding performances. We need such directories and storywriters who can create such beautiful films.
Assuming someone is praying for show undermines the essence of faith and the sincerity of individuals' beliefs. As Muslims, it's imperative to give each other the benefit of the doubt and refrain from passing judgment. Only the Almighty truly knows the intentions of the heart. Let's foster a community of understanding and compassion rather than suspicion and cynicism. Just because u guys have a platform to speak does not mean u can come say anything about anyone. I have seen Shaheens's interviews and he does not come off as a pretender. Allah knows best!
It's disheartening to see individuals speak negatively about M. Rizwan, who actively promotes religion and peace, his efforts to spread positivity and faith should be commended. Rather than criticizing him, we should recognize the value of promoting religious values over dance , music , movies that promote nudity( that contradict our Islamic principles)
Amna didn’t watch Ibrar-ul-Haq’s interview, didn’t watch Afreen Afridi’s video. But still this did not stop her from calling Afridi’s video a photo op and branding Ibrar’s comment as boosting. Being a journalist, she should, at least, do her research before making a judgment and sharing her opinion.
As an Indian, it was very interesting to see that you guys also feel the same for your content, while here in India, we look up to a lot of your dramas, we absolutely love the authentic manner Pakistani dramas portray daily life. It was surprising to see that you guys consider your content as subpar.
Some of it is actually great like dil na umeed tou nahi, Parizaad, raqeeb se , Jo bichar gaye, kabuli pulao, ranjha ranjha kardi, breaking news etc. But yes most of it with typical stories is subpar
Thank you for this gracious review of Laapata Ladies. Have sent this link to Kiran Rao and she watches every review. I head the film content at Jio Studios and was amongst the first people to view and be amazed by this small film with such a large heart. Thank you Aamna & Hasan. I follow most of your reviews ❤️
It was a beautiful film with powerful powerful dialogues. Started the movie at dinner and couldn't stop watching till the end. Fell asleep with a smile. Please thank Kiran for this experience- she needs to do more of this. 😊
Madam why to have contact with an enemy country. Thousands of Indian Soldiers are being killed in Kashmir. They are fighting to save us Islamic Militants, u r promoting these groups. These so called Pakistani Liberals mouth did not move when Pakistan trained Terrorist s created havoc in u r Mumbai City. For God sake stop this bhaichara where country men blood is shed daily.
The world is different these days. Constant content and posts are being generated about a myriad of things, good and bad. For a young famous athlete to post content showing him practicing his deen is commendable despite whatever few negative implications may be wrapped up in the production of such content. We should appreciate such posts and such athletes that keep it positive when they can surely do so much worse. As people of pre internet generations I can understand cringing a little when seeing what could be contrived righteousness, but the impact these posts have on the youth is priceless. They don’t cringe, they couple manliness with God consciousness, fame with humility, strength with discipline. All incredibly important lessons
I also don’t agree with Aamna views in this regard. I seriously think our cricketers are a role model of our youth and a very positive influence. So if Amna think that public display of affection by celebrity couple should be done in public to influence people.Whats wrong with showing connection with Allah to positively influence youth ? Why she thinks that it’s done for getting likes by an already established player ?It was very judgmental
Aamna has her views which i respect coz in many ways i relate to her but at that point i was also thinking it was a positive video coz he is a role model and an inspiration to the youth.
Aamna saying she doesnt like people who display their religiosity and then saying she will post her picture at Umra is sending mixed messages. Display of OTHER people's religiosity, not your own , in an attempt to encourage religiosity and normalising namaz on the street is beneficial. And no it is not better to not pray or pray inside the car because footpaths are dirty. This is what prayer mats are for, to make the prayer spot paak.
@@suryavikramsingh77 LOL you've copy-pasted the same comment all over the comment section.....the level of your obsession with Shaheen is hilarious at best and ridiculous at worst
@@suryavikramsingh77 why u guys get scared of seeing a Muslim praying ?when you guys bring your religion into everything, be it sports, films politics etc etc .. we see breaking of coconuts and other such rituals being done in every initiation ceremony, and never bat an eye.
After listening to such a positive review and comments, I’ll definitely watch Laapata Ladies! I would also recommend film ‘Dor’, a bollywood film starring Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag. It almost 20 years old I guess but one of the best films on women empowerment and strength. It was released when feminism was not a household name. I’m sure you guys will love it!
If Abrar hadn’t mentioned Katrina then people would’ve said he’s making things up. Either ways he would’ve been trolled because people these days have nothing better to do! Abrar-ul-Haq doesn’t need name dropping to elevate his status. He has been a household name for years now.
I didn't doubt Ibrar for a second. India is in habit of offering songs and roles after stealing their music, songs, dialogues or acting style. T series and many Indian singers have made their career by stealing Ibrar songs and tune. God bless the invention of TH-cam that started exposing Indians, after people uploaded the original work. There's the reason why India has placed aban on Pak TV, news, radio, movies, Magazines since 1990
Then why take a video and post it on the internet ? If not for show off ? Not to forget that he was just removed as captain . Political motives cannot be ruled out .
Not a fan of Abrar per se, but when Billo first came out, he was huge. Hes one of those people who made Punjabi music hip. His music was everywhere at one point. The way people trolled him, especially Mishi Khan who has never done anything notable herself, was deplorable.
Hats 🎩 off to Aamna and Hasan for reviewing Lapaata Ladies, regular viewer of your show and get immense knowledge and fair feedback on Drama,s Being Indian I watch Pakistani Dramas, Talents has no Borders, my Favourite are Nauman Ijaz, Bilal Abbas, Fawad Khan, Mahira, Saba, Durre, Yumna, many more singers like Aatif Aslam, are the best in the World , earlier Pakistani Stories has good and deep understanding of Our surroundings, but lately Production Houses are hell bent on destroying the whole story in Climax like Tere Bin, Ishq Murshed, no need to drag these series to a level where viewers level are tested, about Shaheen Afridi offering Namaz Ina Parking is avoidable religion is a private affair of a person, no need to show off, Rizwan do regularly on the field which is not required
If it’s in a bad taste for someone to stage a photo op of himself offering salah, then it’s equally (if not more) in a bad taste to comment on someone’s niyat behind offering salah. Also, intentionally making your namaaz qaza and doing your namaaz while sitting in a car (not facing kabah and with wrong postures) is no way better or preferred in Islam than offering it on a pavement over a jay-e-namaaz.
Agreed with hassan. Atleast do appreciate the positive things about our country. Yeah there are multiple issues but sometimes we should highlight positive aspects as well.
Indian OTT platforms have given platforms to emerging writers and artists 💜 this has weakened the gatekeeping done by elite Bollywood producers and directors.
Amna is wrong in shaheen's case. He is offering namaz at rest area. And he is paped So what amna is saying that wo namaz na prhta , qaza kr deta??? I respect you guys both but Still today you guys are wrong N he is paped at Rest area ( qiyam o tayam)
Lekin usko dekh kr Jo hazaro log public places pr ye krne ke liye inspire hoge uska kya ?? Kya common society me rest area ki samaj h ,,,, common person ke liye yahi perspective banega ki mera superstar khulle me pad raha to me bhi kahi bhi pad sakta hu. Big responsibility comes with Big Power/Stardom..If you don't think radically ,you understand this..
Agreed with your comment .In today’s world public display of every aspect of life is applauded but religious activities offend many. He is a role model for our youth. Why it can’t be taken positively that he is influencing others
You have to give it to amna for a person who claims to be journalist she did little to no investigation on who were the people involved with the space project and used her inherit bias to project her anger at a project which was lead by students of a local engineering university at little to no cost. Amna really needs to address her bias and maybe invest a little time on research before trashing the hard work of students who have nothing to do with political affiliations she or anyone has, why should you be happy or applaud these kids or the project because someone else kids is achieving things that will help them in future typical desi behaviour .
I wish ke hamary Pakistan film makers bhi kuch seekhy in se like what a beautiful film I watch movie after sooo long and Laapata ladies just love it no words ❤
This is the new contemporary narration of story. 12 fail and laapata ladies. Though story is typical and heard before but the story board and scene connection is so accurate.
18:27 Hajj and umrah are a communal form of worship, very once in a lifetime opportunities for lots of people, they're not a regular form of worship. People post pictures to share their joy of reaching that milestone or achieving that dream. That's different.
Thank you Hassan that you mentioned about Pakistan moon landing. My nephew is part of that university as well .. BTW Amna... Sad to hear about your review on this achievement.
The best thing I like in this movie is that it's so clean, no bad language, nudity, abuse or LGBT which bollywood is full with nowdays. Hope this sets a trend now of clean movies.
Lapata ladies ne society ki hypocrisy ko jo bhigo bhigo ke tappad mara hai lajawab❤ I m started watching old dramas like daam, duaraha, rehae becuase no gd content now neither in india or pakistan
Shame on Amna for criticizing Shaheen being caught on camera while praying. Reason 1: it could be someone else who took the video without him knowing. Reason 2: even if he did record it, Dawah and inspiring people to join Islam is a big part of our religion. Please don’t spread anti-islamic views when you have a platform which is watched by so many. If you call yourself muslims, at-least show some respect to your own religion.
On the issue of Lapata, in an industry that churns out thousands of movies a year, only a few are progressive and well produced. Similarly, in an industry that produces hundreds of dramas a year, there will be a few good dramas, such as Stand Up, Breaking News, Razia, etc. You folks are a little harsh when it comes to your own industry.
Saheen shah is not putting out or showing off religion. As u know salat is obligatory and has to be performed within a time frame,if is not near by a mosque one will say his prayers wherever he find space. Its a common practice here in middle east, v c so many ppl praying in different spots that doesnt mean they r showing off their religion. Saheen was doing the same, someone made a video as he is a celebrity. The video would have been made even if he was not praying i guess.
After watching this , i just remembered why i unsub this channel few years ago, amnah is such a snob , hasan is relatable but amnah is so know it all, snobbish woman. So hard to watch.
*Pakistani P.R Agencies are Notorious for Suggesting Pakistani Artists to Falsely Use Indian References to Boost Their Image* *It's Highly Unprofessional, But This Behaviour is Apt for People Like Pakistanis, Where Laws Mean Nothing*
We see people praying in parks, malls and everywhere in GCC and this is very normal. Why these people are getting triggered by a person who is simply praying. Very disappointing Amna and Hassan. You guys should stick to reviews of dramas/movies only and leave people who follow their religion alone.
I really like this lady Amana..so so dignified.I really hope all Pakistani are so dignified like her. Also I would like to mention to this host that all Pakistani actors are not famous , apart from Fawad and Atif Aslam we hardly know any other actors! There is so much content in OTT platform! There is also no time ! 😊 Kaunsa kab dekhe ! But I simply love this guest in your show..will certainly watch her wherever she is as a guest!
We should also appreciate characters like deepak. They give us a hope that men like him still exist. Calm and simple ❤️ so unlike the toxic men in our dramas
I think The man is simply prioritizing his faith . Praying namaz like this is very common here in the west. And is often more convenient to pray it outdoors in the open
No,it’s common in West. We should respect our religion & not display on pavements or anywhere like that. Find an appropriate spot or pray qaza. Religion is V easy, some people complicate it & use religion for attention.
@@seeya7610how can praying Qaza namaaz better than praying on pavement, especially, if you are using jay-e-namaaz for it? Making your namaaz qaza is a bigger sin than doing it on a pavement.
Just one observation... I don't know if the anchors are aware The setting of Lapata Ladies, is over 20 years ago, before the internet or mobile revolution took place in India. For reference, check the Chattisgarh reference by constable Dubey in the film. He says "Chattisgarh was created last year" , which was over 20 years ago... so time setting of Lapata Ladies is 2002/2003
43:13 I do find it shocking how much people love toxic men in dramas. If you look at the postive comments if toxic characters is astonishing. Danish Taimoor Faisal Qureshi Feroze Khan. People love their toxic characters and their popularity comes from that. Its so depressing.
I agree with you Amna on offering namaz on pavements. Here someone commented that it’s common in West, though it’s not. We should respect our religion & not display on pavements or anywhere like that. I feel one should find an appropriate spot or pray qaza. Here is West, many broken laws and even put theirs or others lives in danger too like that. I noticed we’re not mindful of our surroundings. Now, in West, workplaces or managements etc even ask to provide appropriate place to pray so it’s safe and respectful. Religion is V easy, I personally feel some people complicate it & use religion for attention.
I’m from the west. And it is common to pray in public, yet secure, place in times of need. I’ve done it. Others have done it. It’s not a big deal. It’s a big deal for some folks who may not take prayer seriously and probably say ‘what’s the big deal or urgency that they can’t wait to get home?’
Love from India. Thank you for praising our film Laapata ladies. It’s actually a slice of life feminist film where men are shown not just to oppress women but also as allies of women who understand women. We loved Pakistan’s Zindagi Tamasha and Joyland last year❤
I fully concur with Hassan. As a Muslim Indian residing in the USA for the past two decades, I have a deep appreciation for Pakistani dramas. However, upon observing their content, I find myself inadvertently forming judgments about Pakistani culture and its people. It seems to reflect a sense of insecurity that I didn't experience to the same extent in India. It saddens me to see Muslims portrayed in this manner. I've always believed in the strength of our faith, hamara strong Imaan hota hai khaufe khuda hota hai, but the content often contradicts these values, leaving me disheartened. lapata ladies and 12th fail are amazing movies..
I think Laapata Ladies best fits Pakistani or even the broader Middle-eastern cultures, you will find more such unwanted exchanges than in rural India.
Ayeza ne sanjay leela bhansali ki offer ka nhi bataya tha Ahsan ne zikr kiya jispe usne clarification di thi lkn Imran apne har interview mn 10 saal se 1 hi baat ka ghasita lagay ja raha jisko yakeen karna bhi hoga woh bhi kahage k yeh project ki popularity cash karana cha raha hai. Simple
Amna please don’t be sarcastic You appreciate achievements of other countries but you are making mockery of achievements of our countrymen India has sent satellite on moon but many many people in India sleep on footpaths Hasan is right you are very negative today Maybe you are on some medication What is the reason???
Very true … i think she won’t visited Delhi which is capital city but still maximum population is sleeping on roads but we don’t see people sleeping on roads in Islamabad
Yes, it's such a good film but i think you'll be disappointed with Heeramandi because rather than making it about how these twaifs had female autonamy before British Raj came and took it away. The show focuses only on how exotic they were. Its so bland and Femininism is too on your face that it becomes borderline cringe. Lapaata Ladies on the other hand is so subtle with its messaging. Really loved how it gave across its message without advertising its message. Baki I'll wait for your review on it and write more of my views under there. 😂 I'm so pissed. As a literature student and a huge movie/show buff. I was disappointed in Heeramandi but absolutely happy with Lapaata Ladies!!!

Very disappointed by Amna's review about Shaheen Afridi. Wo namaz prh rha tha niyat Jo b usko judge Allah ne krna hai it's not our right to do it. You are the same lady Jo time to time ye bat kehti hai k hmari girls Jo k half naked ho kr ghumti hain even Jo k openly LGBTQ ko support krti hain hmy unhy judge nai krna chahiye hmy unhy nai btana k unho ne kia wear krna hai or kia nai and ap kud 1 cricketer ko judge kr rhi hain Jo k namaz prh rha hai and you are saying I don't like public display of religion????? Can't believe
Sorry but imran abbas also sound like bragging about bollywood movies mujhe aashiqui offer hui guzaarish offer hui thi blah blah ...I only remember him as one of dancer in ae dil hai mushkil
He has been surely offered Aashiqui 2 and Vikrambhai bhatt waited 6 months for him.. he was offered many movies..he did any dil hai mushqil, janisaar, creature 3d with bipasha..popular song was Mohabbat Barsa dena tu..I still remember when I saw him first time in that song..I was like wow..this boy has got perfect features…if issue didn’t happen between countries, he would be one of the popular name in Bollywood..we don’t have such a good looking heroes in Bollywood…Imran and Fawad both used to take 35 lacs INR to attend any event…
I only found Fawad khan impressive he know how to act Plus his good looks give him additional point imran abbas fails to impress me I don't remember of him doing any big production movie lead roles but the way he showoff irritates me ...
Absolutely agree with the craze of Pakistani Actors here in India..!! I think it’s huge that directors want to caste your drama actors in a larger level - Movie, which sometimes even indian drama actors failed to achieve. Love and Respect from across the border.
Such a honest review of lappatta ladies from Pakistan❤. If you can watch "Panchayat" somewhere do watch it..its such an amazing series. You will feel connected. Being indian i am feeling good that bollywood is bringing this kind of stuff Panchayati, Lappatta ladies.
The story line is probably of early 2000 when mobile connectivity had issues especially in rural areas. It's the reason none of them is using smart phones and there is no mention of sending message on whatsapp
I felt Razia was similar to Lapaata ladies in the way it told a story we may have heard before but it shows how she gets out of that situation and gives hope. So I think Pakistan also makes just as brilliant content. If you have seen the Punjabi movie Godday Godday Cha, it also tells a story of hope in a similar way.
The best part of Laptaa ladies was that Phool’s husband Deepak never lost his trust and faith in her! Never thought OMG, raat bar wapis nahi ayi tu meri Izzat kharab hogye! Even his family never thought that way!
In fact his family takes accountability of his mistake and scolds him first.
Right
Yeah though they are from backward villages they dont have any regressive thoughts and they treat Jaya very well with respect as their guest.
U guys should definitely watch the movie 'Manjummel boyz'. A must watch
Absolutely the best movie so far I watched this year. The main concept of the movie is empowering women.
PHOOL (flower)
PUSHPA (flower)
Deepak's village: SOORAJMUKHI
(A flower)
The bus Deepak takes to his village:
PUSHPA TRAVELS (Flower)
Flower: A symbol of tenderness, innocence or purity. This symbol of innocence and purity is spread throughout the village life in the film.
Phool's husband: DEEPAK (lamp/ a source of light)
Pushpa's husband: PRADEEP (lamp/ a source of light)
A lamp can either guide you through darkness or it can burn you.
Deepak is a guiding force, a ray of hope for both Phool and Pushpa in their darkest times.
While Pradeep burnt his ex-wife to death.
(One lamp showed the way, the other burnt down a life)
Pushpa's real name: JAYA (victorious)
Jaya is a rebel at heart.
Name of the police officer: SHYAM MANOHAR
SHYAM: Dark, Black (one name of Lord Krishna)
MANOHAR: Lovable, one who wins our heart (another name of Lord Krishna)
In the first part of the movie Shyam Manohar is shown as corrupt, and a greedy officer.

It's set in 2001.

Yes the movie poster in hall is also of kaho na pyaar hai
@RoarMaddy very well said.

The movie is in the year 2001. There is a scene where the grandfather is listening to a match where Harbhajan Singh is bowling

Some of it is actually great like dil na umeed tou nahi, Parizaad, raqeeb se , Jo bichar gaye, kabuli pulao, ranjha ranjha kardi, breaking news etc.
But yes most of it with typical stories is subpar
Paki dramas are mostly similar and boring. Only thing I like is their looks and settings. Beyond that it is boring

Aamna has weird double standards regarding certain things. This is just one of those instances.

If Abrar hadn’t mentioned Katrina then people would’ve said he’s making things up. Either ways he would’ve been trolled because people these days have nothing better to do! Abrar-ul-Haq doesn’t need name dropping to elevate his status. He has been a household name for years now.
So correct, but these pk celebrities have to take a Bollywood name to get elevated. Sucks!!!!!! It’s only Shan who doesn’t care!!!!!!
There's the reason why India has placed aban on Pak TV, news, radio, movies, Magazines since 1990
Offering prayer isnt a show off or display of religiosity.Does Saheen need such tactics for popularity????
Then why take a video and post it on the internet ? If not for show off ? Not to forget that he was just removed as captain . Political motives cannot be ruled out .
Rizwan also doing it regularly and posting it on social media

Never pass a comment on someone religious practice because u dont know what Allah’s know.

Aamna your clarity of thought is outstanding !!! I love the way you talk !!! God bless you !!!🎉🎉🎉
The story line is probably of early 2000 when mobile connectivity had issues especially in rural areas. It's the reason none of them is using smart phones and there is no mention of sending message on whatsapp
LOVE the intro today! I was having a horrible day and this really cheered me up❤
I felt Razia was similar to Lapaata ladies in the way it told a story we may have heard before but it shows how she gets out of that situation and gives hope. So I think Pakistan also makes just as brilliant content. If you have seen the Punjabi movie Godday Godday Cha, it also tells a story of hope in a similar way.
