I fully disagree on your stance about WC2. The entire point of BB1 is to wildcard straight after. It allows you to get Arsenal players for GW1, avoid City and Chelsea for their matchup and get Liverpool’s easiest fixture. One of the hardest decisions this preseason is Haaland or Salah, for those like you that are currently siding with Haaland, it allows you to get one week of Salah against Ipswich and switch a week later for Haaland. It also allows you to bring in players that are late back from the Euros in GW2. Quite a lot of people will want Foden but if he is likely to be benched GW1 then people won’t go there. A lot more information can also be gathered from GW1 about minutes of players and where they are playing. I’m probably not going to go the bench boost route, but if I did it would definitely involve a wildcard straight after.
Naahh skipping WC straight after BB is okay, I tried making many drafts recently which allow me to BB in 1 but can manage to stay solid until WC6, the key is to having Saka on GW1 and swap him to Palmer in 3 or 4
I agree it’s the optimal strategy for GW 1 + 2 but there will be an injury crisis or a fixture swing later in the season that I’d rather keep the wildcard for
You shrugged off the GW2 WC but it has value. You get to see the 1st gw lineups and squad so can make better decisions on who to have in GW2. It allows you to pick whoever you fancy for the bench boost without any worries about future proofing the team.
I went with this tactic a few years ago in the first full covid season. Sounds good on paper but trust me it was a disaster having to survive until January with no wildcard
@@nathanp4854 You can save up transfer this time around. That changes things a lot. That said, it seems transfers come late this year and pushes wc for me.
After the first 4/5 weeks or so it could be very risky but I guess if you manage to pick the right players on wildcard it could work since you could potentially bank a couple of transfers. Without the transfers change I completely would have disregarded this strategy though.
Just set up for a bench boost in 3/4/5 and wildcard after. That way you take out most of the risk involved, wildcard the same time as everyone else & have a deep squad for the start. That way, you’re more likely to catch rises, more likely to bench boost with some information & ultimately get the bench boost out of the way
I always see chips as safety nets.......never see the point with using them straight away, unless you have a total disaster, but that shouldnt really happen
hate the BB chip, its the biggest cause of ruining my season. I spend so long planning when im going to use it, increasing team value in the weeks prior to nail the BB week in a DGW, only to get screwed over when its finally played. Unfortunately cant use it GW1 this year (even though id love to) as my bench will likely be 4.0 throw away keeper who wont play, Barco, Faes and Pedro or Armstrong (I have both in my team). I also have foden in my starting 11 who is a risk GW1 due to Euros.
BB GW1 and WC GW2 was my second draft tbh. WC in City and Chelsea assets and start rolling transfers. Probably not doing it, but it seemed a fun idea at the time
Bench boost is more effective end of the season when you’ve accumulated more of a budget to spread the cost across your bench. This isn’t effective, in my opinion.
Awful decision, managers could be working on different tactics and the player you think is a banker for your bench, doesn't start. With bench boost, you do need information throughout the season to be able to do it. Wildcard gameweek 2 is vastly overrating the defensive abilities of any team. This is the leaky goal era, I wouldn't avoid a player who has a run of 6 good fixtures because of 1 so called 'difficult' fixture
@@HLFhazza i did not respond to the iniury part. Just the part where pre-season minutes dont matter or else Lewis and Bobb would be in everyone's squad
I am bench boosting for GW1, followed by wildcard in GW2 Will have Neto + Palace GK TAA, Munoz, Livramento (pending Trippier) Kerkez and Barco Salah, Saka, Gordon, Maddison, Eze Isak, Solanke, Joao Pedro (pending injury status)
Hi Andy Arsenal fan here I’m not so sure that Havertz will start the season as Arsenal‘s first choice striker there’s a lot of positivity around Jesus I won’t be going there
Food for thought Andy: - With the introduction of more free transfers (5) - With WC keeping free transfers and not reseting them Will there not be a much better time in the season where you can: - have a couple of transfers saved (2 or 3) - plan your WC with BB in mind - keep those transfers (2-3) - deploy BB next week and get another transfer (mind you just wildcarded, so now you have 3 or 4 free transfers and hopefully did not need to do additional transfers) - after BB (where you now have 4 or even 5 transfers) revert back to stronger 11 decimating your bench again to fodder My point is the transition from BB team to light bench team is now faster. So BB GW1 is just a bad idea with the amount of information we have. Unless you smash it.... then it was a gr8 idea. But since you a planner, you should appreciate this (i hope😅)
Playing your bench boost on GW1, when your squad value is at its lowest, when you have the most uncertainty on players starting, and no double fixtures is simply poor decision making.
Disagree totally. 1: The lack of doubles this season makes it viable. 2: If you are talking team value if you jump straight into wildcard Gameweek two you can catch a ton of price rises. 3: You'll always have the risk of players not appearing, if you bench boosted after a European midweek game for instance how would you know there's no rotation.
@@Richardmctiernan you make a good point of using in combo with GW2 wildcard. Still, there are better GW where fixtures fall more nicely to bench boost. Double or not. Good to hear your thoughts

It’s a lot easier to set up your team for a bench boost in 3/4/5 before a wildcard in game week 6
If you really wanted Haaland just for GW2, is a free hit worth thinking about, plus keep WC and BB for later?

GW2 wildcard
Forrest and Palace GKs
Livramento, Mykolenko, Henry, Robinson, Barco
Palmer, Son (rotating with Saka) Gordon, Eze, Rogers
Haaland, Isak, Joao Pedro
Keep up with the content! Best on YT
How can you get stressed about using a chip or not?!
Bench boost should be used in game weeks where teams have two fixtures
I prefer gameweeks where solid mid priced players has a good fixture over a bb week where players might get rested or has low xP. avg.
Bit unsure about Miguel in goal
Could you do a video on goalkeeper options?

Best Gk rotation combo until gw 8?
forest + chelsea

I'm going to risk it for the biscuit and bench boost game wk1 and wildcard game wk2 🤞
What is better Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro or nkunku and Watkins with 0.5 in the bank
I did this last year based on FPL Raptor's recommendation and it did not work out. I would not
Wood isn't first choice is he?
Trent + Bruno + Barco or Robertson + Son + Anderson?
Bench boost game week 1 wildfire card week 2 trip captain week 2 Harland v Ipswich

RMT
Sanchez
Robertson - Gvardiol - Mykolenko
Gordon - Saka - Nkunku - Jota
Isak - Haaland - Richarlison
Bench Fabianski - Rogers - Barco - Harwood Bellis
Richarlison is not nailed or 100% fit as a Spurs fan

I'm Hearing talk through the *Grapevine* --BB gw1 because there won't be a plethora of DGW's this season .
Haaland subbed again at halftime, 3rd in a row and Pep confirmed issues
It's pre-season, everyone subs their players to grant as much playtime for everyone as possible.
