Hey Andy. Enjoying the pre-season content. I have a question that you might consider for a future video. Do you feel that the focus on data analytics and AI-driven team selections is taking the fun out of FPL? And could it even be considered cheating? I actually work in an industry where AI and data-driven decision making are integral but personally, other than looking at points, minutes and discipline, I much prefer to go with intuition and gut feeling!
Depends what you find fun I guess! I don't get how it can be considered cheating. You're allowed to read a book before a quiz, you can watch TH-cam videos about how to get better at FIFA etc :)
Hey Andy thanks for the video. Regarding 4.0 goalkeepers: isn't number of transfers needed for a price drop a % of total ownership? Therefore higher ownership makes them more resistant to price drops? In theory a low owned GK would only need a few transfers to drop in price. At least that's how I remember how it worked a few years ago
I’m not sure if that’s true or not but it’s extremely likely that high ownership 4.0’s will drop, it’s always been that way. They all end up at 3.8m at end of the year and low ownership stay put. Don’t own Turner whatever you do. Anyone else should be ok.
It’s harder for highly-owned players to increase in price and it’s easier for them to fall. Look at the players that dropped the most last season. Rashford for example, he was in a high % of teams and he dropped what, 0.8M over time? And the players that increased a lot like Gordon and Palmer were owned by few people to begin with , they could get price rises if their ownership increased by like 1%
🔥 great work Andy your an inspiration to me I see the hard work in your videos keep it up you think I can beat my own rank from last season 47,627 that’s 2,521 overall points 🙏 the season before that I finished ranked 3,802,329 rank so I had a big jump learning more about the game n when to use the chips the hard thing to most players is just nail the captain pick that’s what really helps the rank
Just my take, but I don’t understand why you Wouldn’t plan through til the furthest possible point. Obvs Trying to nail down gw1-5/6 is most important but at least you know when tough weeks are, when key players can come in/out etc. after that. Like… 7 looks a bit rough, but 13 is bad and 17 is Horrible for most of the popular picks, if you don’t have an eye on them you can transfer yourself into a corner in GW 6/7/8 and not have anything left to pivot in those weeks. I’ve got a route to gw19 that works, knowing I can cover those dodgy weeks and still stack up a few transfers for the unexpected on the way there.
Whats your thoughts on building a draft with haaland and salah to cover that ipswich game in gw2 to captain haaland then using rolled over transfers to remove haaland and a cheap mid and bring in foden/watkins/havertz in gw3/4?
For questions, are people (especially those booking in WCs) overlooking the fact there could well be some big transfer deals done after the season starts?
I have found in recent seasons the really high owned players don't drop in price much. Haaland last season lost 30% ownership of the entire game and barely dropped in price. Some player that is 5% owned and drops to 2% owned they will probably drop 0.2.
In short, the higher the ownership, the more transfers required to change their price. Therefore, total ownership doesn't reflect how likely they are to change in price.
@@Adzミwith those fixtures + his lack of pre season, I don’t see it. I’ll want him later in the season but from the beginning I’m not sure he’s the option.
Hey Andy, Why isn't Ruben Dias in the conversation for a way into the city defense? He like Gvardiol didn't really have a huge Euros, so should be fit. At 5.5 I think he is a good pick.
Just better options for 5.5 tbh. I had him last season and he only returned once for me in the first 6-7 weeks I think it was. No attacking threat, few bonus points, same price as Porro, more than Munoz/Maatsen, etc… I’d pick someone more exciting in that price range tbh, considering City pretty much always start slow and might be without some Euro-featuring big hitters.
Who’s going no Salah no Haaland? I initially always had one of those two players in my draft, but now I’ve done a draft with neither of them and I really like the squad as a whole better
I don't want to transfer any defenders in first 5 gameweeks. So I need to work out which 4 teams are going to have the most clean sheets in the first 5 games? Is the fixture difficulty rating , if you add them up for first 5 weeks, a good guide?
Same as before, you get 1 for weeks 1-19 and another for 20-38. Tbf it doesn’t look like there’s many major swings between 1- &19. So playing it early means you can take a few early punts, and if they don’t work pivot with the WC without using your more valuable weekly transfers. I’m prob not into the idea myself. I’d rather sit on it and use it closer to Christmas.
I watch 99% of your videos, and 100% of them have you saying “all of a sudden” 😂

Most nailed chelsea defender? ( Excluding keepers )
Surely you would ask: what is the highest scoring team over the first three gameweeks that would be affordable for 100 million in game week 1?
Only me who thinks Harvey Elliott is a good shout at 5.5m if he starts in that #10 role? Also Amad Diallo at 5m.
Good shouts
Got both in the squad rn
Course he's a great option if he plays there. Problem is they've got about 6 players going for 2 positions
Szoboszlai almost certainly starts over him
Yeah but they prolly won't get as much time/start
People talking about how they don’t want to pre book transfers YET promote a WC in 4 or 6. Thanks for helping me validate this.

Hudson-odoi at £5.5 is now a mins risk 😢 with Jota Silva arriving at Forest. Yes he is a right foot but he plays majority at left wing.
In the short term? I wouldn’t worry too much. CHO will start the first few games at least.
@archiewall124 good call that!
Hey Andy what do you think about changing keepers more regularly if you have 3 or 4 subs available
Whats your thoughts on building a draft with haaland and salah to cover that ipswich game in gw2 to captain haaland then using rolled over transfers to remove haaland and a cheap mid and bring in foden/watkins/havertz in gw3/4?
Hi Andy, thoughts pls:
Miguel (Vlad..)
Gabriel Mykolenko N.Williams (Murillo Konsa)
Bruno.F Salah Palmer Eze Nkunku
Watkins Isak (Stewart)
Thanks
Have you seriously got triple forest defence? Cmon bro… 😂
For questions, are people (especially those booking in WCs) overlooking the fact there could well be some big transfer deals done after the season starts?
Should I keep Fernandes and Nkunku og transfer Son and Hudson-Odoi in? Hard choice
Kulusevski has played really well in pre season
More important than planning a Wildcard is which pocket will you keep the wildcard in?
Rate my team
Miguel
Trent Robertson Gvardiol
Saka Salah Gordon Eze
Isak Wood Muniz
Bench: Nkunku Barco Robinson

I had Saka but decided to sell him to Salah and honestly I think it’s better spending the extra 2.5 for Salah especially for the first 5 GWs.

Which combination of players do you think is best... Raya, Gordon and Rodgers or a 4.5 GK, Eze and then Rodgers up to Nkunku?
