Kiryu has 2 sides, his normal civilian life and his Yakuza past. This game was all about burying his Yakuza past. @@bimapradiga8853 I don't have a problem about how whacky it is but the story in general could have handled a little bit better with a few changes and additions. Still liked the game.
I just love how, in this battle, for once your party member isn't really get nerf in any significant way. They are really are an beast as they should be. In my playthrough Saejima alone solo 2 miniboss at once, and Majima mow down many small fry as he could.

The entire Omi, Kiryu and Watase acknowledged his pride and Honor for the Omi and gave his momentum for one last time. No matter what He will be remembered as one of the many last Great Yakuza in the criminal underground. Shishido is such a great antagonist and a character and it's been a long time the Yakuza series had one that felt convincing. But this guy, this guy is as old school and though as they are, as persevering and unwilling to give up, but also self serving scum with no loyalty or ethics. And that's exactly what the Yakuza are at their core, underneath all their pretence and talk about codes.

Man, in this finale as soon as they removed their shirts i was sure that i should play using only the Dragon of Dojima style, i think it suits Kiryu's farewell
For me Shishido is the best yakuza villain so far, connecting both tragic backstory and incredible ambition to keep Omi Alliance together, and he is so driven by this ambition that even after being messed up and having dagger stabbed through his hand he still had strenght, i feel like he could kill Kiryu if he was fully recovered at this point
Shishido is basically Aizawa if i see it, but he have Better Morals and also Goals as a Villain, he's pretty much one of my Favourite besides, Mine, Ryuji, Soma, Kuroiwa, Kuze, Shibusawa, and also Nishiki

I'd have bought Shishido a lot harder if he hadn't been planning this betrayal for years and made Nishitani his guy, and then complained that Kiryu 'had to show up and ruin everything' (paraphrasing somewhat). It made everything he was talking about with Kiryu throughout the game seem so hollow. Like okay cool, you'll say anything to get what you want, how is this speech to the Omi any different? It's a neat moment and it's cool seeing villains that can shake the invincibility of the legendary yakuza, but I felt pretty underwhelmed with the finale. Good fight and fun boss moveset and all, but a few changes to his motivations would have made him a great final boss to me.
I mean, it adds in a bit to Yakuza 7 (Like why Kiryu is suddenly present, he wasn't shoehorned in for fun, he was there a Daidoji element to help stop Masato) and for people who played the Kiryu saga, it gives us the finale of his struggle to escape the chains of the Yakuza. I guess it's only a game you'd play if you have followed the Kiryu saga, players starting with Ichiban won't get as much.
Idk why you say that when the whole series before Yakuza 0 felt like filler. And yeah, this game was advertised to focus on a lot of the side content rather than just a main story (it's very short if you do nothing). I had no issue with it and it actually gave so much context for Kiryu's character and actions
